00:03 | [Narrator (Vulkk)] Greetings, I’m Vulkk. Junjury wants to make a soup for his former mentor, Master Sorin, and he needs your help getting him the required and correct ingredients. He could also use your advice on which of them to put into the recipe for a perfect result. He wants to make it meaningful. |
00:23 | [Junjiro] Naoe, I want to practice making a soup for Master Sorin. Something I can cook when we visit him. It has to be speacial. |
00:33 | [Naoe] Auntie Matsu always said cooking is the language of the heart. Anything you make for Master Sorin will be special. |
00:40 | [Junjiro] I know, but I want it to be perfect. I came to Kii to try shoyu, their famous fermented soy sauce. And I have mochi and daikon already, but I don’t know what else to put in the soup. I want it to have meaning. |
0:58 | [Naoe] You want the soup to have meaning? |
1:01 | [Junjiro] Master Sorin always talked about the meaning of words and symbols and stuff. If I make a soup with meaning, he’ll know I listen. |
01:09 | [Naoe] Hmm, symbols. Maybe an ingredient that represents Master Sorin’s pilgrimage? |
1:15 | [Junjiro] Yeah, something brown, like the dirt path. What else, what else? |
1:21 | [Naoe] Something from the sea? To… symbolize the changing tides of life. |
01:25 | [Junjiro] You’re good, but remember, Master Sorin doesn’t eat anything that has a heart, so no fish. That means you’ll need to get two things, his famous shoyu and one ingredient that’s brown and comes from the sea. |
01:42 | [Narrator] This walkthrough will show you where to get the ingredients from and which ones are the right ones for the meaningful soup. |
01:50 | [Naoe] I’m looking for cooking ingredients. |
01:53 | [Merchant] I sell many goods, miss. Most grown or made right here in Yuasa. |
01:58 | [Naoe] What was it Junjiro wanted? Maybe browsing the wares will help me to remember. |
02:04 | [Merchant] Well? |
02:48 | [Merchant] Come back soon! |
02:50 | [Narrator] Your character makes up funny reasons when you select the wrong ingredients to recommend, and I’m also going to show you those in the end, just for fun. |
02:57 | [Junjiro] Oh, you have the ingredients? You sure? I don’t want to start cooking until you have everything. |
03:07 | [Naoe] What? You don’t trust me, Junjiro? |
03:10 | [Junjiro] Okay, okay. Let’s see what you brought. Yatta! You got the shoyu. What else? I’ll take everything you bought. But you tell me which ingredient goes in the soup. The most meaningful one. |
03:37 | [Naoe] I brought kombu, dried brown kelp. Its color is like the dirt path, and it comes from the sea, having weathered many tides. |
03:45 | [Junjiro] That’s perfect! Now, let’s see how it tastes. Mmm, the daikon and mochi in the kombu broth? So good! And the shoyu. Best of all, it’s meaningful. I can’t wait to make this for Master Sorin. |
04:04 | [Naoe] It’s kind of you to think of Master Sorin like this. You have a big heart, Junjiro. |
04:11 | [Junjiro] You think so? Do you think… do you think Yasuke believes that too? |
04:19 | [Naoe] Yasuke more than anyone. |
04:21 | [Junjiro] Then maybe I’ll make some soup for him. But a different soup. |
04:26 | [Narrator] The reward is XP and a decoration item for the hideout. For more, visit VULKK.com. Thank you! |
04:47 | [Naoe] Here, sake. It represents the… uh… Actually, I don’t know why I bought it. Don’t drink it. |
04:58 | [Speaker 1] Oh, okay. Well, I’ll do my best with this, I guess. This soup is… it’s really… it’s terrible. Too much flavor, but also not enough. It’s bad. I guess I’ll have to make something else for Master Sorin. Thanks for trying. |
05:15 | [Naoe] It’s kind of you to think of Master Sorin like this. You have a big heart, Junjiro. |
05:24 | [Junjiro] You think so? Do you think… do you think Yasuke believes that too? |
05:29 | [Naoe] Yasuke more than anyone. |
05:31 | [Junjiro] Then maybe I’ll make some soup for him. But a different soup. |
05:40 | [Naoe] Spring onion is fresh and green, just like… springtime along the path. |
05:28 | [Naoe] Salted fish, it brave the changing tides. Until it was caught, I guess, and then killed and salted. |
5:59 | [Naoe] Daikon grows down deep into the earth, just like the winding path cuts into the mountainside. |
