Here is everything you should know about the changes to vehicle customization and the four unique new vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3
More customizable vehicles
Crystal Coat and TwinTone features were introduced in Update 2.2. For anyone who needs a reminder: CrystalCoat lets you change the color of the headlights, inner side, and outer side of the car.
Basically, the whole visuals of the car. This feature also masks your car out of sight while being chased by the police. Fooling them and lowering your NCPD Wanted level.
CrystalCoat was previously available on sports and luxury cars only but Update 2.3 changes this with new vehicles being compatible with the CrystalCoat technology. Including lower-end models.
However, heavily modified models like nomad and job-related vehicles are not compatible with it.
TwinTone is a feature that allows you to scan and replicate paint jobs of other vehicles around you. It is now available for a total of 32 cars and bikes.
New vehicles
We also received four unique vehicles that are going to make a great addition to your collection. Three of them have easy but specific requirements. For me, some of these jobs didn’t pop up despite having met all the requirements. Regardless of what I did or how much time I waited.
The solution was to try on a different save because no matter what I did, nothing seemed to work on the first one. Here’s how to get all of them.
There are no new achievements for any of the vehicles or jobs introduced with Update 2.3.
Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila
This is the easiest vehicle to acquire. All you have to do is head to your closest AUTOFIXER terminal and purchase it for fifty-five thousand eddies. This is the biggest vehicle at your disposal. It is weaponized, though it does not shoot rockets.
Remember that you can get cumulative discounts for all vehicles sold at AUTOFIXER terminals by completing jobs for El Capitan.
Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa
This is the first bike in the game to fully support both TwinTone and CrystalCoat. To unlock it, there are a few things that you have to do first:
- Purchase 1 Yaiba vehicle
- Purchase at least 3 vehicles through the AUTOFIXER terminal
- Complete Reported Crime: You Play with Fire…
A message from Yaiba will appear on your personal computer. Reading it triggers the Side Job: Nitro (Youth Energy). It’s an invitation to purchase a custom model, which is a collaboration between Yaiba and Kiroshi. You can either connect through the Yaiba’s website or go in person to Kiroshi’s campus. It doesn’t matter what you pick.
After placing your order, just skip 24 hours, and the Muramasa bike will be ready for pickup. Head to the delivery location at the docks in Corpo Plaza. Identify yourself and pay the ninety-five thousand eddies price tag.
Congratulations, you are now the owner of the unique Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa.
Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred”
To get this as a reward from a new side job, complete The Beast in Me: Badlands, The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo, Transmission, and Search and Destroy. After these requirements are met, El Capitan will contact you through a message saying that he has a big opportunity for you. This unlocks the Side Job: Freedom.
After arriving at the Coronado Dam in Santo Domingo, you must search for an engineer among the bodies. The intel he has will take you back to a construction site in Rancho Coronado. Eliminate the Arasaka goons guarding the Caliburn. Be careful, these guards aren’t pushovers.
Use the computer that’s in front of the Caliburn. Doing this will bring the car’s autodrive system online, and it will drive away. Use the computer again to read all messages and files. One of them mentions the original owner of this car, Yorinobu freaking Arasaka.
Understandably, El Capitan wants nothing to do with this after finding out. But we don’t pass up an opportunity to get a unique car, right? Look for the key on the workbench in the opposite direction of the computer. It’s important to point out that the key appears only after sending the info to El Capitan. Also, if you leave the area, the key will disappear, and you won’t be able to claim the car.
Search for the Caliburn “Mordred” in the designated area. It will try to escape, follow it, and cause some damage to it. That should make it stop. A fast and weaponized car like the Outlaw “Weiler” makes this easier.
Getting inside the Caliburn “Mordred” triggers a response from the NCPD. All that’s left to do is escape from them.
Once it’s done, you’ll have successfully stolen this unique car from Yorinobu Arasaka.
Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru
Last but not least is the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Seminaru. The only vehicle capable of dethroning the Rayfield Caliburn as the best ride in the game.
In order to unlock the Side Job: Motorbreath that gives you this vehicle, you must complete The Hunt (Balatro treasure hunt quest), The Beast in Me, and complete River Ward’s entire questline. You don’t need to romance him.
River Wards sends a message about a car stolen from the NCPD. The strange thing is that this isn’t a police car but a one-of-a-kind sports car. He believes some cops might be behind this robbery. So he asks you to steal it and keep it. How could we say no to that?
The task is very simple. Locate the car, make it stop, eliminate the thieves, and seize the Seminaru. You are going after dangerous people who are driving a very fast car on a highway,y so you’ll need something that can match it. What better option than the Caliburn “Mordred” you just acquired?
Be careful, these aren’t regular NPCs. These two are mini-bosses. Underestimating them can be a deadly mistake.
Get inside the car after you kill the thieves and jack in. A few messages will pop up.
Once you report back to River, he will tell you to keep the car. The CrystalCoat feature is malfunctioning on this car. To fix this you must talk to Claire.
