New Starkiller Funko Pop, Matt Smith joins the Star Wars: Starfighter cast, and everything else that happened in the week of August 2 – August 8, 2025.
Starkiller Funko POP
Funko is releasing a limited-edition bobblehead of Starkiller (The Force Unleashed). This masked version is holding his red lightsaber while also carrying what appears to be Vader’s lightsaber.
This is limited to only 750 pieces, and the Early Access has sold out. Its price tag is $49.99. That is, if you’re lucky enough to buy it directly.
Matt Smith is going to play a villain in Star Wars: Starfighter
Matt Smith, who many of you might know for his appearances on shows like Doctor Who (The Doctor), The Crown (Prince Phillip), and House of the Dragon (Daemon Targaryen), has been cast to play an antagonist in Star Wars: Starfighter, according to Deadline.
Smith will join Mia Goth and Ryan Gosling in this upcoming project. This movie is set to release in 2027, so we still have to wait many months before any small details are shared with us. Who else would you like to see in this movie?
Disney settles its legal dispute with Gina Carano
Disney and Gina Carano have reached a mutual agreement after the actress was fired years ago following some very unfortunate comments.
A spokesperson said this in a statement provided to Variety:
“The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies. Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect. With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future.”
While the statement is very impartial, I highly doubt that Disney wants to work with Carano again. Regardless of whether her firing was justified or not, big corporations tend to avoid working with people who have caused them any inconveniences.
I didn’t miss Cara Dune in Season 3 of The Mandalorian, but it would be interesting to see how they decide to reintroduce the character. Do you think they’ll bring her back?
Star Wars: Sanctuary
Omega, Wrecker, Hunter, and Tech are back in Sanctuary by Lamar Giles. Set during the events of Season 2, our favorite clone family is trying to score good-paying jobs after leaving the treacherous Cid behind.
With the help of Phee Geona, they end up in a mess that involves multiple (and dangerous) parties.
Sanctuary was released on August 5, 2025. Our spoiler-free review will help you decide if it’s worth giving it a try.
Legacy of Vader #7
Kylo Ren faces more than a simple challenge when confronting Grandea, a former member of the Jedi Order. This story combines the present with flashbacks from the Clone Wars era. Release date: August 6, 2025.
