Claws of Awaji: Viewpoint and Kakurega Locations Guide

There are seven Viewpoints and four Kakurega Locations on Awaji Island. This guide will show you where they are and how to get to each one.

What are Viewpoints and Kakurega

Viewpoints are a staple feature in the Assassin’s Creed series. These points are high up and offer a view of the surrounding area. When you reach a viewpoint, you’ll fill in a part of your map with points of interest in the surrounding area. You’ll know you’re close if you see the hawk perched on the viewpoint.

A kakurega is a safe house for Naoe and Yasuke. You can quick travel to any of the kakurega locations you have unlocked at any time. You can also resupply resupply your rations, tools, and ammo.

In the Claws of Awaji expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you can quickly navigate through the new province map, the Awaji Island, by discovering first all Viewpoints and Kakurega locations.

If you have upgrade the Study and Kakurega houses in your Hideout, your scouts will reveal Kakurega and Viewpoints, and once you all Viewpoints, your scouts will reveal the entire province.

Sumoto Watchtower

The first Viewpoint you will most likely visit, is Sumoto Watchtower. It is on north end of Sumoto city, located on the east coast of Awaji island.

From here, you can spot and mark the following places of interest:

Sannomiya Lookout

The Sannomiya Lookout viewpoint is located behind the Sannomiya Shrine, on its north side. To reach it, if you travel from Sumoto Watchtower, cross the river and head west, follow the road leading to the Shrine, go through or around it to reach the viewpoint

From here, you can spot and mark the following places of interest:

Myoshoji Lookout

Myoshoji Lookout is located just north of Myoshoji Temple, in the central part of Eshima Coast. You can easily reach it from Kamaguchi Village to the east or by traveling directly north from Sannomiya Lookout.

From here, you can spot and mark the following places of interest:

• Iwaya Castle – 692m
• Iwaya Tenshu (viewpoint) – 702m
• Trail of Eshima (landmark) – 464m
• Derelict House (landmark) – 334m
• Salt Farm (area) – 477m
• Kamaguchi Village – 428m
• Bandit Camp (hostile area) – 379m
• Sumoto Watchtower (viewpoint) – 1497m
• Izanagi Shrine – 588m

Iwaya Tenshu

The viewpoint is on the top of the damaged Tenshu of Iwaya Castle. It’s at the northernmost part of Eshima Coast.

If you are traveling from Myoshoji Lookout, you can take the safer and easier approach – the road leading north along the west side of the island. Or, you can travel through the path leading you northwest through the central parts of the island. You will go through the Trail of Eshima.

If you take that path, you are likely going to stumble onto a very weird location, where you will find the Ophidian Feeder legendary kusarigama for Naoe.

From here, you can spot and mark the following places of interest:

Okunoin Sasayama Shrine

The viewpoint is located in the northwest end of the Yura sub-region, jus t north of Okunoin Sasayama Shrine.

From here, you can spot and mark the following places of interest:

Yura Duke Watchtower

Yura Dyke Watchtower viewpoint is on the very edge of a small island, overlooking Yura city on the east side of Awaji island.

From here, you can spot and mark the following places of interest:

Fukura Hachiman Lookout

The Fukura Hachiman Lookout viewpoint is in the central part of Fukura Bay. The easiest way to reach it, is from the south, from Fukura Village.

From here, you can spot and mark the following places of interest:
