How to start The Bomb Maker
You can start this mission as soon as you enter Ishikari Plain. You’ll need to go to Otaru Hills to the south, or just west of the entrance to Ishikari Plain.
You’re looking for a group of Oni Raiders attacking one woman who’s lobbing bombs at them.
Fight your way through the raiders and reach the bomb maker. After clearing the area, there’s a palisade wall blocking off a cave, squeeze through it to find more raiders to defeat.
With the area clear, the bomb maker will trust you and give you a lift up a wall, starting the mission.
Bomb Practice
Pick up the bombs on the table and pull them out through your Ranged Weapon list. While you’re limited to 2 bombs to start, you’ll have unlimited bombs during this practice phase.
Throw your bombs at the dummies, making sure the circle at the end of the arc lands at their feet.
Defeat the Oni Raiders
When the dummies are destroyed, more Oni Raiders will appear. Defeat them with your bombs before they can climb up the ladders. If they succeed, you’ll have to finish them off with melee weapons.
One thing you’ll notice is that any enemies within the area of effect will be outlined. Try to hit multiple enemies whenever possible to get the most bang for your buck. If you run out of bombs, there are plenty of boxes around where you can refill.
Ina the Bomb Maker
Once all the raiders have been defeated, you’ll learn the Bomb Maker’s name, Ina. She has more work to do as she has to get some niter that the raiders are collecting at Bear Rock.
At this point the mission ends and you’ll unlock Ina as a vendor. She can upgrade your bombs, bomb capacity, and upgrade your Oni’s Flame.
You should help her gather the niter at Bear Rock if you’re looking to add another bomb type to your arsenal. With how dangerous the Oni Raiders are with their penchant for fire, sometimes fighting fire with fire is the best option.
