Ghost of Yotei Yari Kits Guide: Every Yari Appearance and Where to Get It

A complete catalog of all 6 Yari Kits in Ghost of Yotei, detailing their designs, their locations, and how to get them.

What are Yari Kits

Yari kits are a type of weapon kit allow you to customize the appearance of your Yari, the spear you can unlock by learning The Way of the Yari in Ishikari Plain. Weapon kits have no impact on your combat performance whatsoever.

Since the Yari is more of a secondary weapon semi-optional weapon, there aren’t nearly as many Yari Kits available compared to Sword Kits. Practically all Yari Kits come from completing quests, primarily in Ishikari Plain.

All Yari Kits

We’ve included a brief visual description of each Sword Kit’s appearance and notable features, with particular attention paid to colors, and recommendations for matching armors and outfits.

Atsu’s perfect anti-sickle and anti-kusarigama weapons are sorted in alphabetical order, not the order they appear in-game.

Bone Dust

Bone Dust is a primarily white spear with subtle green accents and a unique black spearhead.

You receive Bone Dust for completing the quest “The Burning of Castle Ishikari” on Ishikari Plain with Sensei Takahashi, which becomes playable after completing the quest “The Tale of the Oni“.

Fisherman’s Heart

Fisherman’s Heart replaces the entire model with that of a brown wooden Ainu harpoon. It matches the aesthetic of the Robes for Sitturaynu perfectly.

You can purchase the Fisherman’s Heart from the Oshima Coast Merchant at Matsumae Residences/Castle.

Rain of Ruin

Rain of Ruin combines brilliant red and blue with gold metal accents. It looks pretty great with the Spider Lily Armor.

Rain of Ruin is the default Yari Kit that comes with the Yari you unlock at Sensei Takahashi’s Camp on an island on the coast of Ishikari Plain at the end of the quest “The Way of the Yari“.

Scalding Spear

Scalding Spear is entirely red and black, save for the spearhead. The colors are pretty striking compared to most other weapon kits.

You can purchase the Scalding Spear kit from Ran the Bowyer after unlocking the Yari in Ishikari Plain.

The Gambler’s Spear

The Gambler’s Spear is black with gold accents and a bit of white fabric to complement the silver spearhead.

You can loot The Gambler’s Spear from Inagawa the Gambler’s corpse outside Bifuka Sake House in Teshio Ridge after you foil his Zeni Hajiki scheme.

Yari of Sensei Takahashi

The Yari of Sensei Takahashi combines various shades of green with gold accents and orange painted persimmon fruit. It matches the Blades on a Stream dye on the Onryo Armor the best.

You receive the Yari of Sensei Takahashi for demonstrating mastery over the Yari by making a persimmon fall from the tree at Sensei Takahashi’s Dojo in Ishikari Plain after unlocking all Yari skills in the tree.

Endonae

Endonae is a passionate gamer who's particularly fond of challenging action RPGs and open world games with visceral combat. The closer it is to being a Soulslike, the better. Ranged casters, particularly of the energy or elemental variety, are his bread and butter. Lightsabers are pretty cool, too.
