What is coming to Star Wars in 2026

Live action and animation, books and comics, toys and a videogame, this is the list of all important Star Wars things coming in 2026 that you should know about!

Movie: The Mandalorian and Grogu

Back at Star Wars Celebration 2025, The Mandalorian and Grogu was announced as Star Wars’ return to the big screen with a flashy teaser trailer.

Something dangerous has caught the attention of the New Republic and they are sending our favorite duo to deal with it.

Notable characters that will appear in the movie are:

• Rotta the Hutt, son of Jabba the Hutt who happens to be played by Jeremy Allen White
• Zeb Orrelios
• a New Republic pilot who is played by the one and only Sigourney Weaver.

TV Shows

Ahsoka might be one of the most popular characters, but we expect a lot from Maul: Shadow Lord this year!

Ahsoka Season 2

Season 1 of Ahsoka set the stage for important things to happen. Baylan Skoll found the statues of The Father, The Son and The Daughter. Grand Admiral Thrawn finally returned to the known galaxy and intends to unite the Imperial Remnants under a single banner.

Season 2 began its production immediately after Star Wars Celebration 2025 and is set to release next year. We don’t have a release date but I believe that it will happen in the second half of 2026.

Here are the most important announcements and confirmations from the Star Wars Celebration panels about this upcoming season:

• Thrawn is the main villain of this era
• Admiral Ackbar will go head-to-head with Thrawn
• Hayden Christensen is returning as Anakin Skywalker for S2
• Zeb is also appearing in S2
• The Mortis Gods play an important role
• This will be the closest thing we get to an all-out war

Additionally, we got to see the first look of Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll. McCann took over the role after the passing of Ray Stevenson.

Maul: Shadow Lord

The Son of Dathomir returns for his own dedicated show in 2026. Maul: Shadow Lord will show us how Maul assembles forces to create what would later be known as Crimson Dawn.

Maul is also getting a new apprentice. We know she is a red-skin Twi’lek and people immediately assumed this is how Darth Talon is introduced into the current canon timeline. Obviously, Sam Witwer is returning to gives us another iconic interpretation of Maul.

Star Wars Visions: The Ninth Jedi

Star Wars Visions Presents was announced as a new initiative that allows the studios behind these shorts to bring their vision into long-form storytelling. This means that some stories from Star Wars: Visions will have their own series.

The first one is The Ninth Jedi, which already got a second episode in Volume 3. The series is set to release on 2026 with a specific date yet to be announced.

Videogames

There is only one confirmed for 2026 video game. Zero Company may have to hold the front for the entire franchise on this front.

Star Wars: Zero Company

Star Wars: Zero Company is a brand-new single-player turn-based tactics game developed by Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games.

You will be in the shoes of Hawks, a former Republic officer and leader of an elite squad made up of very particular characters.

Zero Company is set in the Clone Wars era, but the twist of this game is that you are not fighting on behalf of the CIS or the Galactic Republic.

Instead, your group are mercenaries trying to make a living. This means that you can go against both armies, which opens up many possibilities in terms of storytelling and gameplay.

Star Wars: Zero Company is coming in 2026 to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. There is no official release date yet. For more details, you can check our dedicated article.

Books and Comics

As one of the most active media categories, we always have a ton of new books and comics coming in 2026. Among the highlights for us are Edge of the Abyss and Star Wars: Legacy.

Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss

Reign of the Empire is the second entry of the Star Wars: Reign of the Empire trilogy. The Mask of Fear by Alexander Freed was the first novel and one of the best recent Star Wars novels, especially if you are a fan of Andor. Edge of the Abyss is written by Rebecca Roanhorse and has a release date of Fall 2026.

Eyes Like Stars

This is the first official Star Wars romance novel. The cover features a couple searching for a happy ending.

This young adult novel is set about a year and a half before The Force Awakens. It features new characters, a mysterious artifact, and the First Order. Release date: Summer 2026.

Star Wars: Legacy

A story set between Episodes VIII and IX. With Luke gone, the task of training Rey falls on Leia’s shoulders, but her knowledge is quite limited, and she’s unsure about how she can pass the torch.

A small glimmer of hope is found in the ancient Jedi texts. A Jedi temple on Tython might have the answer. Leia and Rey embark on a journey to Tython, where they’ll confront not only the First Order but their own demons. Release date: July 28, 2026.

Low Red Moon

Star Wars Outlaws: Low Red Moon, by Mike Chen novel is a prequel to Star Wars Outlaws. We’ll get to see ND-5 and Jaylen Vrax look for answers and good opportunities in the underworld.

Low Reed Moon will connect the novel with the videogame while also bringing supporting characters from different Star Wars media. Low Red Moon is coming on February 3, 2026.

The Art of Star Wars: Andor (The Complete Series)

This official behind-the-scenes book gives readers an exclusive inside look at the production art, visual development, concept art, creature designs and FX, graphics, props, and more that went into creating Andor.

It has deep dives into the locations that defined the series, including Kenari, Ferrix, Aldhani, Narkina 5, Mina-Rau, Ghorman, and Yavin 4, among many others.

This essential volume celebrates the legacy of all twenty-four episodes and the problems the team behind this magnificent series overcame to bring their vision to life. Release date: May 19, 2026.

The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte

The Art of Star Wars: The Acolyte showcases the creative process behind planets, locations, storyboards, production art, character designs, vehicles, and other things created for The Acolyte. Release date: January 13, 2026.

The High Republic Adventurers – Pathfinders

The new Pathfinders miniseries from Dark Horse takes us back to the High Republic era. The first issue follows a Pathfinder team dispatched to investigate the death of a Jedi Master. This story takes place 20 years after Phase II. Release date: March 11, 2026.

Jar Jar Binks

This new series puts together two very opposite characters who happen to be played by the same man: Jar Jar Binks and Kelleran Beq.

What is interesting about this is that this comic is co-written by Ahmed Best himself and Marc Guggenheim, writer of the Marvel Jedi Knight series. Release date: February 11, 2026.

Star Wars: Visions – Tsukumo

The NYCC panel revealed this new original Star Wars manga, from the creators of the latest Ultraman manga. In the wake of Order 66, a lone Jedi Knight accompanies a pair of droids to a rumored “Droids’ Paradise” while being pursued by the Empire. Release date: July 24, 2026.

Books for the Younglings

The Art of Coloring: The Mandalorian and Grogu

The visual development of the new film, which continues the adventures of the clan of two, Din Djarin and Grogu, is covered in this all-new volume.

This volume also includes a look back at artwork from season 3 of The Mandalorian, as well as moments from The Book of Boba Fett. Release date: April 28, 2026.

The Mandalorian: The Official Funko Pop! Coloring Book

Celebrate The Mandalorian and its legendary cast of characters as they are transformed into adorable Funko POP! figures in Star Wars: The Mandalorian Official Funko POP! Coloring Book! Featuring over 60 illustrations of the most iconic characters and scenes from The Mandalorian in Funko form. Release date: April 28, 2026.

Star Wars: You’re my little Grogu

Celebrate Star Wars little fans with this rhyming board book which features some of our favorite characters from The Mandalorian. Release date: April 7, 2026.

Toys

When it comes to toys, LEGO usually occupies a huge portion of our coverage. However, with other big and interesting announcements sure to come later, we will keep an eye on Hasbro and all the other toy manufacturers to update this article accordingly.

LEGO sets

Three small new sets are coming on January 1st, 2026. BB-8, mid-scale AT-AT, and mid-scale Venator-Class Attack Cruiser.

BB-8 includes the classic black info plaque and standard-size BB-8 figure. It has 569 pieces and will cost $89.99.

The mid-scale AT-AT also comes with the respective Snowspeeder to replicate the iconic Battle of Hoth. It has 525 pieces and will cost $64.99.

Last but not least is the mid-scale Venator-Class Attack Cruiser. It has 643 pieces and will cost $79.99.
