Star Wars Dark Forces gets a physical release, more titles join The Essential Legends Collection, Windu gets a graphic novel, and everything that happened in the week of March 7 – March 13, 2026.

Star Wars: Dark Forces coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch

Yes, you read that right. Star Wars: Dark Forces, the iconic game which originally came out back in 1995, is now available in physical format for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. However, you will get the Remaster version that features an upgraded resolution, high-res textures, better lighting, and gyro controls.

Keep in mind that these features are mainly for modern optimization. The game’s music, graphics, movement, and combat mechanics are still the same as when it was released over 30 years ago.

Since this is a physical release, you might want to secure your copy as soon as it’s available. As cool as this game is, it’s not even close in popularity to a modern Nintendo/PS5 title like Metroid Prime 4 or Ghost of Yotei. Quantities are likely to be limited, and you don’t want to rely on third-party sellers to get it months after the release.

We learned more about Reign of the Empire – The Mask of Fear’s sequel

Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear came out last year and was definitely one of the highlights of the year when it comes to books. The sequel, Edge of the Abyss by Rebecca Roanhorse, is releasing on September 15, 2026, with a promise to continue the dark and complex tone set by Alex Freed.

The Mask of Fear focused on Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Saw Gerrera. This time, Anto Kreegyr, Luthen Rael, and Kleya Marki will also be part of the story. If you are a fan of Andor, these stories are definitely for you!

More titles join The Essential Legends Collection

Two new stories are being re-released as part of The Essential Legends Collection with brand-new covers and audiobook versions: Labyrinth of Evil and Cloak of Deception. Both by James Luceno.

These two books are part of a trilogy that ends with Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, which was already released last year as part of The Essential Legends Collection. After these titles come out on August 11, the trilogy will be complete.

For those unaware, The Essential Legends Collection is a series of re-releases of stories that predate Star Wars’ acquisition by Disney. Meaning that they’re currently not part of the official canon timeline.

Nonetheless, many of these stories are still incredible reads. Especially because they focus on specific characters rather than looking at the big picture. If you’re not bothered by the fact that they’re not canon anymore, I recommend that you check them out.

Grogu won’t surprise us “with that” in The Mandalorian and Grogu

In a recent interview with Variety, Kathleen Kennedy spoke about how Grogu is a great example of a character who doesn’t need to speak in order to connect with people. Our favorite green creature can just make a funny noise, combined with silly gestures, and almost everyone immediately loves him.

This has been a key element of his character since his first appearance in Season 1 of The Mandalorian, and it’s going to continue like that, at least for the movie. Kennedy confirmed that Grogu will not gain the power of speech, not even something close to Yoda’s unique speech pattern.

I think that’s for the better. At this point, hearing Grogu say a full sentence would be odd to say the least, especially because he’s still a baby. If that ever happens, I’d like it to be only when the story of Grogu and Din Djarin comes to an end.

Mace Windu is getting his own graphic novel

Dark Horse is bringing us an original graphic novel that focuses on Mace Windu before the events of Episode I. This story, written by Justina Ireland, will take us back in time to a moment where Mace Windu is recently knighted.

It’s going to be very interesting to compare how a young Mace Windu handles this mission as opposed to his appearances on The Clone Wars.

After bungling a sensitive assignment, a young Mace Windu is sent to protect an alien king. This punishment becomes a daring rescue after the monarch is abducted, and the Jedi Knight is forced into the center of a conspiracy surrounding scheming politicians and ruthless revolutionaries. With danger and betrayal lurking around every corner, Windu must unravel the conspiracy before the planet is engulfed in a civil war. Who knew diplomacy could be so thrilling?

Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – Mace releases in Fall 2026, for $20.
