Learn how to complete Spire of the Stars puzzle in Crimson Desert. Including path to the Spire, puzzle with the murals, and the Obsession and Madness platforming puzzle
Spire of the Stars is a main quest, part of Chapter IV of Crimson Desert’s main storyline.
- Chapter: IV. The Price of Knowledge
- Main Questline: Forbidden Knowledge
- Required Abilities: Force Palm
- Rewards: None
Go to the Spire of the Stars
Go north of the presentation area and look for a set of stairs to the east. Take these up the mountain to reach the Spire of the Stars.

As you ascent up the mountain, it’ll get colder and your stamina won’t be able to regenerate as quickly. Additionally, actions that consume stamina will require more to use while you’re cold.
If you lack any food or gear that offers cold resistance, you can restore your stamina by standing near one of the fires along the path.
Go to the top of the Spire of the Stars
When you reach the spire, you’ll see a wall with glowing runes along the wall. Three of these wall panels have a small square hole in them.

To the left and right, you’ll find two small rooms that have panels you can Force Palm to activate. This will reveal an Engraved Stone you’ll need to pick up. This will fit into one of the square holes in the wall panels of the puzzle room.

Pick up the remaining two Engrave Stones and take a look at the walls of both rooms. There’s a diagram in each that has symbols and positions corresponding to the main puzzle’s.

You’ll notice the circle rune is on the third light up on both the mural and the actual puzzle itself. To solve this puzzle, you’ll need to align the panels on the wall rails in a specific order.
Place the Engraved Stones into the square holes of the puzzle. This will activate the wall panels and they’ll move to the top of the wall.

Climb up the wall and grab onto the bar found on a wall panel. The panel will slide down and you’ll need to drop once the panel is in the right space.

The sideways hourglass should remain at the top, leave the circle alone, the square goes on the bottom, and the triangle is the second from the bottom. This will activate the lift which will take you to the top of the spire.

Take the lift up and ascend the stairs to reach the top of the spire. This will activate an Abyss Gate that you’ll need to activate to complete the quest.
Obsession and Madness
This will be a very short quest but I’d like to offer some tips for climbing up if you don’t have access to cold resistant gear to negate the reduced stamina regeneration.
- Chapter: IV. The Price of Knowledge
- Main Questline: Forbidden Knowledge
- Required Abilities: Force Palm, Axiom Force, Double Jump (recommended)
- Rewards: None
With low stamina regeneration, it can be dangerous to climb up the floating pillars ahead. Upgrading Force Palm to Level 3 and getting Double Jump from the Spirit Branch will help immensely here.
Double Jump then Force Palm three times to get some air, then fly your way to the top of the closest pillar. This allows you to conserve your stamina for flying.

The Axiom Force’s Aerial Maneuver can be useful here as well, if you have more than the minimum amount of stamina required to use it. So long as you’re cold, you won’t be able to use it if you only have the minimum 200 stamina.
Go to the illuminated platform then use an Aerial Force Palm to activate it and start a cutscene. This will complete the quest and after making it back to Howling Hill for Cast Shadow, you’ll complete Chapter IV!

With this quest completed, you can unlock and solve the Secret Garden Puzzle, up here in the Abyss and grab an extra Abyss Artifact.
