On 24th January the developers of Star Wars Battlefront 2 implemented a new small patch to their servers in an attempt to fix some lag issues and improve the matchmaking for multiplayer. This update doesn’t involve any download as it was a server-sided one.

The most recent update deals with the “facing the same team over and over again” issue. You may have noticed that once you queue up for a game and continue to play after the first one, your team consists of the same names for the most part. This is one of the big improvements with the recent server patch. Adjustments have been made to matchmaking. Before you would stay on the same server and you faced the same team over and over again. Now, the matchmaker will try to optimize teams between rounds. Or…. that’s what the patch notes from the official forum say.
Recently the game got a Map Rotation fix that helps balance the chance for each multiplayer map to appear for you. Before that some maps were way more popular than others.

In addition to this, there also was a number of misc server performance updates to reduce lag and connectivity issues. If you have been experiencing sever lag or disconnects, this update may have the fix you were looking for. All you have to do is log in to the game and check out how stable it is.
