Have you noticed VULKK.com is now hosting a few SWTOR class and other guides that are written by guest-writers? Let me tell you a little more about how is this happening and why!
Since Game Update 4.0 of Star Wars: The Old Republic VULKK.com is the home of all of my Sentinel and Marauder Guides. With 5.0 I expanded the mini collection with my favorite discipline – Gunnery/Arsenal for the Commando/Mercenary.
Shortly after 5.0 I was approached by the first candidate to write a Class Guide that I myself could not offer. Mebrithiel offered to write (and did) the Serenity Shadow Guide. Later I translated it for the Hatred Assassin.
In the more recent months two more guest-writers got their class guides published. Awetgomk wanted to cover the whole range of Disciplines for the Snipers and Gunslingers. He then asked me if I want more for the Operative and Scoundrel – I accepted, of course (these guides are not yet published at the time of me writing this blog post). In the meantime Kamiala approached me and offered two fantastic guides for the Lethality Operative and Ruffian Scoundrel.
I have received a few more offers from potential guest-writers for a few more guides, but for various reasons things did not happen – in some cases I demanded too much for the author’s taste perhaps, in other cases the guides had mistakes and errors in core elements. In any case I did thank the candidates and am grateful they at least wanted to do some good for the community!
Each time I receive a guide for publishing, I thoroughly check every single word of it and compare/research/check it up for mistakes or outdated elements it to my best knowledge. Due to the fact that I am not experienced enough with all classes in the game (the main reason why I do not write class guides myself for all disciplines), I always strive to make sure the guide I have received is up to date. I am very grateful to all the authors whose guides have already been published on VULKK.com – they have proven themselves very dedicated not only to their respective classes, but to the community in general. Each one of them responds to questions and feedback from the comments of the readers. All of them keep their guides always up to date by voluntarily sending me mails from time to time with bits and pieces that they wish to be changed or updated in their own published guides.
It is important to note that I never did seek out anybody to write a class guide. I cannot offer the luxury of paying for such a service. All authors that you see featured here did write their guides in accordance with my demands for quality, contents and up to date information completely free of charge. That’s right – FOR FREE! For this I would like to thank them all.
Well, I, of course, gave them some In-Game items out of my own Cartel Coins pool, because even though most of them refused any gifts from me at first, I would not feel comfortable accepting their guides 100% free. I myself have written more than enough SWTOR Guides – both class ones and other types. I know how time-consuming it is. The amount of tests and research that is dumped on a single Class Guide is more than what you can possibly imagine (unless you have written one yourself, hehe).
With all of that said, I would like to say that everybody, who feels competent and experienced enough to offer to write a SWTOR Class Guide that is still missing from the catalogue on VULKK.com, be it PvE, PvP or mixed, please, contact me via email at info@vulkk.com and we will discuss the what, how and when.
