Disney revealed the name of the composer for the upcoming TV series The Mandalorian – the well-known by all Marvel fans Ludwig Göransson!
Disney revealed the composer for The Mandalorian. Ludwig Göransson will write the score for the first ever live-action Star Wars TV Show, which is set for release in 2019 on Disney’s own streaming service – Disney +.
Ludwig is well-known among the Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. He was responsible for the score of Black Panther, Creed. Creed II, Venom and Fruitvale Station. He’s also been very active on other stages, such as TV, commedy and more.
For starwars.com Ludwig shares his enthusiasm for his new job: “Words fail to express how surreal and humbling it feels to be invited into the Star Wars universe. I am deeply grateful to Jon Favreau and Disney for this opportunity and to John Williams for raising the bar so high with his iconic, intrepid scores – they will never be matched.”

John Williams’s work on Star Wars leaves pretty much anybody else in his feet. No matter how good the rest are, it truly is an impossible-to-climb mountain to do what he has done for the whole Star Wars franchise.
Ludwic then continues: “In these next months I hope to honor the tradition of Star Wars’ musical landscape while propelling The Mandalorian into new and unchartered territory.”
“And I will try to remember that there is no try.” – he finishes. What a strong finish! It’s not a secret that Disney don’t release anything, before it has been approved by at least 1293 different departments. This is no mistake, but rather a clever joke from Ludwic.
He’s not a random guy. He’s worked for Disney a lot in the past already. He is familiar with the Marvel fandom. Stepping up in John Williams’ shows is a new challenge altogether, though. We wish him good luck and hope that the show will be a good one!
There’s still precious little known for The Mandalorian. The news are starting to arrive slowly one at a time. Disney is evidently slowing down a bit on their plans for new Star Wars content following the back-lash from the community after the releases of The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Ever since the “Underworld” project got canceled and lost somewhere in the archives, we all have been waiting for another live-action show to be announced.
Jon Favreau is the executive producer and writer for this production and I will not hide – one of my favorite people in the industry. He’s done a wonderful job on the first and second Iron Man movies. I still remember the first time I saw him – as an actor – in the Friends TV Show. Damn, that was a long time ago.
A number of other famous names will take the helm for separate episodes as producers and/or writers – Dave Filoni, Colin Wilson, Karen Gilchrist, Bryce Dallas Howard, Taika Waititi and more.
Dave Filoni, best known for his work on the Star Wars Animated TV Series Clone Wars and Rebels, will direct the first episode of The Mandalorian.
The Game of Thrones’s The Viper himself – Pedro Pascal – was officially announced back in November to star in the series. It is rumored that he will take the role of the main character. Gina Carano is also cast, but her role is still unknown.
The story of the TV show will revolve around a new warrior. It is inspired by the most famous Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy – Boba Fett. The plot will be focused on the main character with little to no distractions leading back to the reformed Republic or the struggling Empire.
Although it is expected in 2019, it is unlikely that the show may start with just a few weeks or months left before Episode IX, which is set to release in December 2019. The Mandalorian is going to be exclusively available on Disney’s own upcoming streaming service “Disney Plus”, which is expected to launch in the Fall of 2019.
Are you excited for The Mandalorian? How do you like the idea of a live-action TV series that is about a Bounty Hunter, but not Boba himself? Do you approve of Pedro Pascal as the Mandalorian himself?
