This is a detailed guide showing you where and how to obtain all five parts of the Thegn Armor Set in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This set is a Bear Gear type of armor and will benefit from the Red Skill Tree Passives!

What is the Thegn Set

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla armor sets provide unique look for your character Eivor, but also bring special and unique set bonuses if you equip more than one piece that belong to the same set.

The Thegn . It is part of the Bear gear collection and any Red passives increasing Bear gear from your Skill Tree will directly increase the stats of this set. This is a mid-tier armor set. You can, of course, level it up.

The Thegn Set contains the following set bonuses:

(2) Increase to Critical Chance when parrying
(5) Additional increase to Critical Damage

The numbers in the brackets show how many pieces of the set you need to equip to get the bonus perks. It doesn’t matter which armor pieces you slot as long as they belong to the same set.

When can you get the Thegn Set in AC Valhalla?
All five pieces are available in England. Unlike the Hidden Ones Set, this one will take you to guarded areas and you will either have to fight your way through, or be clever with sneaking. You can get this armor set at around Power Level 100 or higher. You could do it at lower level as well, but you will have to be extra cautious to avoid fights with overpowered foes.

When should you get the Thegn Set in AC Valhalla?
It depends on you playstyle. You can get the set early on. Note that some of the areas are high level and heavily guarded. I managed to get through all of it at Power Level 103. If this set is what your Eivor’s build needs, there is no need to delay getting it.

How to get the Thegn Set in Valhalla

The Thegn Set contains five armor pieces. The bracers and torso are in Eurviscire. Pants are in Glowecestrescire, cloak and helmet are in Wincestre. The following sections of this guide will take you step-by-step through all of the obstacles to obtain the items and get the full set.

Thegn’s Great Helm

Thegn’s helm is in Wincestre. You will need three keys to open it. In The Old Minster. Look at where the white marker is on my map. The black cross right underneath it is where the chest is.

The first of three key is in the tower of The Old Minster directly under the Sync point. This is one of the three Coin Mint Yard Chest keys. A mouthful! Thanks to Scotland Noonan for correcting a mistake describing this location.

The second key is hidden on a roof beam inside the Old Minster.

On the back side of the Old Minster break a window and jump in.

When you jump in, take a right turn and then another right turn (don’t go up the stairs). You will arrive in a room with a ton of papyruses.

Get down one floor and on the second door to your left you will find the third key. It’s behind an iron fence, climb over it.

Finally, get back to the main room of The Old Ministry and exit from the north-eastern door. Look up. Shoot up that window and climb through it.

Finally you are able to unlock the chest.

Thegn’s Cloak

The chest is in Bishop’s Residence in south-east Wincestre.

It’s all a very heavily guarded area in general. As you enter the building, climb up on the second floor. On the south side there is a small room that you can access by breaking the weak wooden obstacle.

Move the heavy object to the side and through the revealed opening behind it, shoot the lock mechanism on the door.

Go around and enter the room. That’s where the chest is.

Thegn’s Heavy Tunic

The Tunic is under the ruins of the Temple of Brigantia, in Eurviscire. Thyere’s a long swim to get to this one.

When you get to the big statue in the middle of the temple, dive down and find the underwater entrance.

Follow the corridor for a rather long swim session until you reach the chest. It’s underwater as well.

Thegn’s Bracers

In the Stenvege Camp, far into the north in Eurviscire. The camp has an outer and an inner yards.

To get the key for the inner yard, you need to defeat this Man at Arms.

Then go to the main and only door for the inner yard (it’s on the western side) and unlock it with that key.

You can enter the house where the chest is through the door. It’s not locked.

The chest is on the left hand-side, among other treasures.

Thegn’s Breeches

You will find the chest in Aelfwood, west Glowecestrescire.

You’ll need the Treasure Room Door Key. Take it from this big guy.
