This guide will show you how to get Thor’s Armor and Hammer in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. If you are looking for the truest EndGame items, Thor’s armor set and incredible Hammer Mjolnir will satisfy your thirst for grind, challenge and accomplishment!
Table of contents
What is Thor’s Gear Set
In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla armor sets provide unique look for your character Eivor, but also bring special and unique set bonuses if you equip more than one piece that belong to the same set.
Thor’s armor set and Hammer are available in the game as well and to get all pieces is a bit of a grind fest, but totally worth the time invested.
Thor’s armor belongs to the Bear category. All Red passives increasing Bear gear from your Skill Tree will directly increase the stats of this armor set. This is a high-tier armor set. You can, of course, level it up even further.
Thor’s Set provides the following set bonuses:
- (2) Increase Speed when stunning an enemy.
- (5) Additional increase to Stun.
The numbers in the brackets show how many pieces of the set you need to equip to get the bonus perks. It doesn’t matter which armor pieces you slot as long as they belong to the same set.
Thor’s Hammer Mjolnir is the final piece of this set you will get (you need the armor set to get the Hammer, but more on that below). Its perk reads: “Every hit has a chance to do Stun Damage to all enemies around.“
When can you get Thor’s Set and Hammer in AC Valhalla?
Thor’s armor and Hammer are designed to be your crowning reward for completing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. To overcome the obstacles and the grind that are involved in earning or finding the pieces, is no easy task. You will have to invest a lot of time into the game’s story, level up your Eivor quite a bit and be prepared to meet the toughest opponents. All five pieces are available in England. And to get them, you will have to defeat many opponents, some of which special bosses of very high Power Level (up to 340).
When should you get Thor’s Set and Hammer in AC Valhalla?
As with everything in AC Valhalla, there is no exact limit to when you should get it. I assume if you are skilled and eager enough, you could do all I am about to describe at Power Level 250 or even lower (~150 in Easy difficulty). However, going lower would probably mean that for some of the moments involving fighting bosses, you may have to consider lowering the combat difficulty or face a really big challenge.
Thor’s Set and Gear visual overview
In the video and images below you can take a closer look at the armor and weapon from all sides.
How to get Thor’s Armor Set
Thor’s Armor Set contains five armor pieces. Three of the pieces of the set are loot drops from the Daughters of Lerion. One is hidden in a secret dungeon. Another one is a reward for completing a long quest chain and the Hammer is the conclusion of it all.
Fun tip: as you hover over regions of the map, you will some times hear weird sounds. A typical one is monks singing when you hover over a monastery. Well, something similar happens when you hover over a region where one of the Daughters of Lerion is. Their locations are unknown and unmarked initially. They only reveal themselves if you approach.
The following sections of this guide will take you step-by-step through all of the obstacles to obtain the items and get the full set. I’ll start in the order that I consider to be best. Daughters of Lerion first, then the Order members, then Helm and Hammer.
Who are the Daughters of Lerion
Three of the armor pieces from Thor’s armor set are loot drop from three bosses. They are the three daughters of Lerion. If you want to learn more about the lore behind them before you fight them, keep reading. Otherwise just skip to the next segment.
In 864 CE, a wealthy East Anglian Ealdorman named Lerion devised a plan to kill the Mercian king Burgred and install himself on the throne, joining the two kingdoms. It was a foolhardy plan from the start, a scheme complicated bu the fact that Lerion was old, his wife was dead, and he had no male heirs. Were he to succeed in his violent plot, his dynasty would hardly endure a decade.
Lerion did, however, have three daughters – Regan, Goneril and Cordelia – all as wise, as beautiful and as cunning as their father. The ealdorman loved his daughters with a deep and abiding passion, and they loved him in return. So great was his affection that he wished to bequeath his future kingdom to them in equal portions.
In autumn of that year, with assurances from his allies, Lerion was poised to strike. But King Edmund of East Anglia discovered the plot before it had hatched. Lerion was arrested swiftly and executed for treason. His three daughters, fearing they would suffer their father’s fate or worse, fled into the fens of East Anglia and disappeared.
When they reappeared some years later, well… they were miffed.
How to get Thor’s Battle Plate
The Torso of Thor’s Armor Set in AC Valhalla is a loot drop from one of the Mystical Sisters. This one is called Regan and is located at Walsham Crag in the northern part of East Anglia.
Here are a few tips for fighting this boss:
- Do not leave the arena or the boss may heal up. This is expected to be fixed in patch 1.0.4 releasing November 26 2020. I did it before and if you go too far away from the boss outside the arena, she may heal fully.
- Fire Resistance is helpful here. The boss fight is split in two phases with second one beginning when the boss drops to 50% Health.
- In the first phase the boss usually only does normal attacks and shadow attacks. The Shadow attacks are when the boss hurls to hit you, but clone itself and actually you get attacked by one real opponent and one shadow. You can parry.
- Parry is king in these boss fights for Thor’s set!
- In the second phase the shadow clone of the boss will drag fire behind itself. Don’t stand in fire equals to the ever so popular classic “don’t stand in stupid”.
- Harpoon Ability works great for this boss and if you time it precisely you can even hit her a few times while she is recovering from the pull (upgraded ability perk)
- Grit is a great skill to have. I combine it very nicely with a double daggers poison build (speed is king in this game, in my opinion)
- Brush with Death is also very useful to have, but it’s a bit trickier to use here given the fact there’s a shadow clone of the boss that also attacks you.
- Ranged attacks do decent damage. Very useful in the second phase when the fire trails begin.
As a reward for defeating Regan, you receive Thor’s Battle Plate armor piece and a unique item called Regan’s Dagger. That dagger is used later in this guide. It’s a quest item, not a weapon.
How to get Thor’s Gauntlets
Thor’s Gauntlets are a loot drop from another special boss encounter, located again in East Anglia. The name of the exact location is Berkelow Bog and it’s north-west from Theotford.
Here are a few tips for the boss, whose name is Cordelia:
- This boss deals a lot of lightning damage and has a special lightning AoE attack, which can be interrupted.
- Same as Regan, Cordelia also has a shadow clone and her special attacks feature it often.
- If you parry a hit from the real boss (not the clone), you will have a brief moment to land a few uninterrupted hits.
- There are flowers you can eat for Health around the arena.
- Note when the boss sparkles in red and avoid those attacks.
- Same skills, Abilities and general approach I suggested for Regan are still valid here, except for the Light Resistance.
- Cordelia likes to send her clone off towards you in a frontal linear attack. When you see a bright line aimed at you, dodge to the side.
- The Lightning attacks start in phase 2 – after 50% HP. Interrupt the boss with a melee or ranged attack.
- The weak spot for Ranged attacks is on the back of the boss, same for the other two (in case I forget to mention it there).
When you defeat the boss you will automatically loot off of her corpse two items: Thor’s Gauntlets and Cordelia’s Dagger quest item.
How to get Thor’s Breeches
Thor’s Boots are loot drop from Goneril. She is the last of the three daughters and I personally had the most trouble with her for some reason. She is in Grantebridgescire in the location shown below (Spalda Fens).
Here are my tips for defeating this boss:
- Goneril uses poison and I highly recommend Poison Resistance in your build.
- She likes to send her shadow clone to hold you while she stabs and slashes you. This attack cannot be interrupted, but can be avoided – don’t let the shadow catch you.
- The Shadow cannot be interrupted. Same is true for the Shadows of all bosses.
- I recommend the same set of skills and abilities for this as well as for the other two sisters – DoT Build. Odin’s Spear might be a good solution, but I still stick to my favorite double daggers for quick poison buildup.
- In phase 2 the boss will spawn poisonous clouds. Her shadow also drags a poisonous line behind itself as it moves towards you. Quite nasty. And hard to spot what is where.
- There seemed to be fewer flowers and mushrooms to eat during the fight. Come prepared. Stack up Adrenaline if you can.
- Parry is a great mechanic against all sisters and Goneril is no exception. Just be mindful of her red non-parriable attacks.
Defeating Goneril will grant you Thor’s Breeches and the third dagger quest item you will soon need for the next armor piece and the next puzzle.
How to get Thor’s Helmet
I bet during your explorations in East Anglia you have come across this mysterious Gear Icon in the south-eastern part of the region. And you have been wondering how to get to it. This is the location of Thor’s Helmet and it is intended to be only reachable after you obtain the three daggers from the three Daughters of Lerion.
In the previous part of the guide I showed you how to get these daggers, so let’s go put them where they belong and get the helmet!
The entrance to this underground dungeon is about 160m due North among some ruins.
Enter through the narrow crack in the wall and follow the corridors until you get to the big stone statue with the three holes in its back.
Approach it and an Interact button will appear. Use it three times – one for each dagger. After you place them, a short cinematic will play showing how the statue explodes and a staircase beneath it will be revealed. Go down and follow the narrow dark passage to reach the Chest at the end.
How to get Thor’s Cape
Thor’s Cape is the item you will have to do a lot of grinding to obtain. It is a reward from Hytham for defeating every single member of the Order of the Ancients. This includes all Zealots. Some of them are above 250 Power Level.
In the next few paragraphs I have useful info to help you track down and defeat all of the Zealots. After you do that, go back to your Settlement Ravensthorpe and speak to Hytham. Give him the final fifteen medallions and he will give you Thor’s Cape as a reward.
How to find and defeat the Members of the Order
Some of the members are related to story arcs and will be directly or partially involved with the quests you will be doing.
Others you will have to discover first. To do this, you need to explore the world of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and find clues. The first clue you find about a member, will give you directions to the second clue. And so on until the identity of that member is fully revealed and you can track them.
Most of the members on the inner parts of the chain are one-shot-able. The harder part is to discover who they are, so you can track them. Read the clues on their individual pages carefully and visit the regions they tell you to to find the next clue.
The final member is a part of the epilogue of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s story and to get to it, you will have to complete all individual story arcs in England, get back to Norway, then return to England for one final story chapter again.
How and where to find Zealots
The biggest time-sink would be the Zealots. These are the fifteen special mini-boss NPCs that are shown in the outer left and outer right on the image above. They are not directly involved in any story and the to defeat them you will have to find them first.
Before I give you the regions for each of the Zealots, first let me tell you how to look for them:
- Zealots are always traveling on roads, never in the wilderness.
- Some Zealots are riding horses.
- Often when you teleport and use a spawn point to quick travel, the Zealot you are tracking may change his or her location.
- When exploring a region looking for a Zealot, set your horse to auto travel and follow a road.
- Listen for a loud horn sound. This is the notification that a Zealot is nearby. Usually within 100-150m
- Zealots may appear on the map suddenly even if you are not very close to them. While you explore and look for them, open your map often. As soon as you spot a white helmet (Zealot icon), click to mark it and you will be able to follow it on your Compass.
- Zealots always travel alone, but will call for help if there are any soldiers passing by.
- Zealots vary in Power Level recommendations. The highest ones reach recommended Power Level of 340. You can still defeat them at a much lower level, it will just be more challenging.
- Zealots will always attack you as soon as they see you. Attack them first.
Below is a list with information where and how to find each one of the Zealots. The order is from top to bottom.
Top Left:
- Woden – Cent, Power Level 220
- Heike – Essexe, Power Level 250
- Bercthum – Hamtunscire, Power Level 340

Bottom Left:
- Cudberct – Oxenefurde, Power Level 160

Bottom Right:
- Eorforwine – Grantebridgescire, Power Level 90
- Redwald – Ledecestrescire, Power Level 90

How to get Thor’s Hammer Mjolnir
After you have gathered all five armor pieces of Thor’s Set, you can go and get the Hammer. No joke, it is a requirement actually to have the armor equipped. It is said so in the description of the armor pieces, by the way.
Thor’s Hammer is located in Hordafylke, in Norway.
The Hammer is lodged in a stone in what I would describe as a small crater high up in the mountain.
The exact location of the Hammer is not marked on your map, even when you approach it.
What’s even more fun, the hammer flashes and blinks from distance, but if you have not equipped all of Thor’s Armor Set pieces, the Interact button will not appear when you approach it.
Congratulations on completing the Order of the Ancients, finishing all of the story of the game and obtaining the most iconic and legendary gear available. Thor’s set and Mjolnir may not fit any build, but they sure are shiny and extremely powerful. Pairing Mjolnir with Excalibur would be a very deadly combination (I tried it, of course).
I hope you found my guide on how to get Thor’s Armor set and Hammer Mjolnir in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla useful, fun and easy to follow. Enjoy your endgame and don’t forget about the Season pass. There will be plenty more opportunities for you to test Mjolnir in the game.
