After the game’s launch, Ubisoft added a new gameplay feature to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla called River Raids. While exploring new regions of England and raiding various civil and military locations you can get Saint George’s Set!
What is the Saint George’s Set
In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla armor sets provide unique look for your character Eivor, but also bring special and unique set bonuses if you equip more than one piece that belong to the same set.
Saint George’s Gear set is part of the Bear gear collection and any Red passives increasing Bear gear from your Skill Tree will directly increase the stats of this set. This is a mid-tier armor set. You can, of course, level it up.
Saint George’s Set contains the following set bonuses:
- (2 pieces) Increase Attack after impaling an enemy. you can impale enemies with a Great-Sword heavy attack finisher or a Spear Special left-handed attack.
Duration: 10s
Bonus: +30.0 Attack - (5 pieces) Additional increase to Speed
Bonus: unknown (the text is bugged and the value is not readable)
The numbers in the brackets show how many pieces of the set you need to equip to get the bonus perks. It doesn’t matter which armor pieces you slot as long as they belong to the same set.
When can you get Saint George’s Set in AC Valhalla?
All five pieces are available in England. Two pieces on each of the rivers Exe, Severn and three pieces on the river Dee. These rivers are not part of the open world of the game. They are dedicated instances called River Raids. The river raids become available at Power Level 130 or so, but they are actually really designed as EndGame repeatable content.
When should you get Saint George’s Set in AC Valhalla?
You should get Saint George’s set as soon as you unlock the river raids. There is no need to wait. There’s no need to rush either. This set looks incredibly good for the time period the game takes you and it also has an interesting set bonus for a Bear build with a sword and a shield.
Saint George’s Set Overview
In the video and images below you can take a closer look at the armor from all sides.
How to get Saint George’s Set
Saint George’s Set contains five armor pieces, a heavy sword and a heavy shield. The whole set is only exclusively available as loot from the large foreign supplies crates located in the big military locations inside the River Raids.
A few introductory words if you don’t know what River Raids are in AC Valhalla.
River Raids are repeatable instances of newly previously unavailable land in England that you can access through the new River Raid Docks building you can build in your Settlement.
To start the river raids first you need to build the Barracks and hire Jomsviking, then get to high enough Power Level for Varn to appear in your Settlement. When you meet the level criteria this new NPC will greet you at the shores of Ravensthorpe and will give you a new quest that will start the river raids.
There are three river raids in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The first two become available for you to explore as soon as you complete the intro quest with Varn. He will even take you on your first river raid.
The first two river raids are on the rivers Exe and Severn. You start the raids by talking to Varn at the River Raid Docks in your Settlement.
The third river raid – on the river Dee – becomes accessible only after you collect two clues. These clues are items you pick up from two of the monasteries you raid on Exe andSevern.
Inside the river raids look for large military establishments. There in one of the large chests you will find Saint George’s set pieces.
The items’ locations are random spawn inside some of the big chests in the large military establishments. There are two items available in each river raid:
- Saint George’s Cape – found in River Exe Raid
- Saint George’s Helm – found in River Dee Raid
- Saint George’s Armor – found in River Dee Raid
- Saint George’s Bracers – found in River Severn Raid
- Saint George’s Troursers – found in River Exe Raid
- Saint George’s Tower Shield – found in River Severn Raid
- Saint George’s Holy Sword – found in River Dee, after defeating the Champion
The clues are for the quest “The Legacy of Saint George”. During the first two raids you will have one monastery on each of the two rivers. Explore these monasteries to find the clues to the third river raid map location.
One of the clues is on a table in the big hall of the Escanceaster Monastery on the river Exe.
The other clue is on a table in a smaller room, adjacent to the large hall of the Northern Monastery on the river Severn.
When you collect both clues, return to your Settlement and speak to Varn. He will put the two pieces together and give you the location of the third river you can raid – Dee.
Saint George’s Holy Sword is a greatsword that you earn as a reward for defeating the Champion NPC at the final building in the Deva Victrix castle in the northern parts of the river Dee.
You can use the Transmog feature, added with patch 1.2.0 to switch your appearances without losing gear benefits for your preferred playstyle and set bonus.
