On August 12 Ubisoft released the second major expansion to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. With it came three new packs of items available exclusively on the Helix Store for Helix Credits. This article will give you an in-depth information about all items included in the Gear Pack, Ship Skin Pack and Settlement Decorations Pack, including pricing, visual overview and thoughts on whether you should or should not pay for them.

Jormungandr Gear Pack
The Gear pack contains nine items and is priced at 2000 Helix Credits. When you purchase this pack the Gear and Weapons will appear in your Inventory for each slot. The Mount and Bird skins will be available at the Stables in your Settlement.
The full contents of theJormungandr Gear Pack include:
- Jormungandr Helmet
- Jormungandr Hood
- Jormungandr Armor
- Jormungandr Bracers
- Jormungandr Pants
- Spot
- Ormr
- Coil Sword (1h weapon)
- Ouroboros Shield (shield)
Jormungandr Armor Set Overview
The Armor set consists of the usual five pieces. The set bonus is as follows:
- 2 Pieces Equipped: Increase damage taken by 25%. Increase Malee Damage when equipped
Bonus: +65.0 Melee Damage - 5 PIeces Equipped: Additional increase to Attack when equipped
Bonus: +10.0 Attack
This is a huge attack bonus and is permanent. The Jormungandr Set belongs to the Raven skill tree and will further boost your stealth and melee combat performance to allow you to be an even deadlier and quicker assassin.
Here are the stats of each individual armor piece in the set and the rune slots they come with. Note that the quality and upgrade level of every item or set you purchase from the in-game Store will arrive by default matching the highest level items you have in your inventory. In my case I have a lot of items maxed out, so the images below show the fully upgraded and leveled up Jormungandr set.
The images below will give you a great visual of the entire armor set with the weapon and shield and how they look in the game. For even more details, check the featured video attached near the top of this article.
Ouroboros Shield
The shield is also part of the Jormungandr Set. It is a Raven Light Shield and has the following perk:
- Increase Attack when parrying
Duration: 10.0 seconds
Bonus: +10.0 Attack
The shield can fit up to three runes – one square and two round ones.
Coil Sword
The Coil Sword is a one-handed short sword, also part of the Jormumgamdr set. Since August 2021 with the release of the Sigrblot festival Ubisoft started adding more and more short one-handed swords. They have unique visual representation and behavior while in combat than all other weapons, as you might expect.
The Coil Sword has the following perk:
- Increase damage taken by 5%. Increase Melee Damage when equipped
Bonus: +20.0 Melee Damage
Spot (Mount skin)
Spot is a beautiful and quite heavy-looking skin for your mount. It’s a typical horse, as opposed to the bird skin, but more on that later.
To change the skin of your mount, talk to the Stable master in your Settlement. Mount skins only alter the appearance of your mount, they do not increase or decrease any of the stats of the mount. This is done by a separate gameplay feature – training, for which you have to pay.
Here are a few images of the horse skin from different angles and also with and without a rider on its back.
Ormr (bird skin)
Ormr is a gorgeous skin for your raven. It turns it into a small black dragon with red accents on its wings. It kind of reminds me of Drogon – one of the dragons from the Game of Thrones TV Show.
To change your bird’s skin, talk to a Stable master. You will find one at your Settlement.
The bird skins, same as the mount skins, do not alter the bird’s stats, abilities or anything else. It’s just a different visual appearance to enjoy while using your Raven (who is not going to look like a Raven at all in this case).
Here are a couple of images of the Ormr bird skin from up-close.
Jormungandr Ship Skins Pack
The second pack released with Siege of Paris is the Ship Pack. These skins do not alter the ship’s performance in any way. The Jormungandr Ship Pack costs 300 Helix Credits.
It includes three items and they only change the ship’s visual appearance:
- Jormungandr Hull
- Jormungandr Sail
- Jormungandr Shields
To change your ship’s appearance, talk to the Shipyard in your Settlement.
Below are the images of the items and how they look when applied to your boat:
Jormungandr Settlement Pack
The final of the three newly released packs with The Siege of Paris DLC is the Jormungandr Settlement Pack. It contains five items that you can place around your Settlement and costs 500 Helix Credits.
Here’s the list of the five items included with the pack:
- Nidhogg’s Fate
- Snake’s Well
- Thor Statue
- Midgard Serpent Statue
- Loki’s Statue
All of the items are normal decorations that you can place in any of the standard locations. The Nidhogg’s Fate is the skin for your big tree in the middle of Ravensthorpe.
These are cosmetic-only items and their only purpose is to bring some new visual appearance and aesthetics into your home in England when you visit in-between battles and raids.
To be able to place all of these items in your Settlement, you need to first level it up to Level 2. Consult the Settlement Guide for AC Valhalla to learn how to do that and what other benefits it will earn you.
Here are the images previewing the items from this pack:
Who is Jormungandr from the Norse Lore
Jormungandr is a sea serpent and the middle child of Loki and the giantess Angrboða. According to the Prose Edda, Odin took Loki’s three children by Angrboða – the wolf Fenrir, Hel, and Jörmungandr – and tossed Jörmungandr into the great ocean that encircles Midgard. The serpent grew so large that it was able to surround the Earth and grasp its own tail. As a result, it received the name of World Serpent. When it releases its tail, Ragnarök will begin. Jörmungandr’s arch-enemy is the thunder-god, Thor. It is an example of an ouroboros.

Should you buy the Jormungandr Packs
No, of course not. Not all anyway. I would recommend you get the Gear Pack, because it offers a new, different and very unique style of gameplay. Its high-risk-high-reward set bonus and individual items perks will allow you to experience the game in a different way than you might have been used to so far.
The Jormungandr armor looks very nice and its animation effect of black smoke evaporating upwards from your chest is very cool. It adds to the idea taking more damage and dealing more damage, I think.
The set’s colors are very good and match nicely with the environment, style and the whole atmosphere of the game. They are primarily steel grey with heavy gold accents and some dark near-black backgrounds of the cloth materials used underneath the armor.
The short sword is a new weapon just recently added to the game and it’s worth exploring new gameplay styles. I myself am strongly against a sword and board gameplay styles, so I never use a shield in any game I play, if I can avoid it that is.
The mount is nothing special, but the bird skin that turns it into a Drogon-like mini-dragon is absolutely phenomenal.
The Settlement packs and Ship Skins are not my favorite part and I usually default to a no when I think of these. I would never buy them for myself if I didn’t plan to review them.
Final note: I bought all of the items with my own money. None of these are granted to me by Ubisoft nor do I have any relations or obligations to the developers. The review is my own and all images I took myself after I purchased the items.
This concludes my Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Valhalla Jormungandr Pack overview. If you enjoy this type of reviews, please let me know. This would encourage me to do more in the future. You can check out the rest of the Armor Sets and Packs Reviews I have done so far.
You could use the new Jormungandr gear to venture into Francia now as The Siege of Paris is officially released.
