This guide will explain everything you need to know about Amazon’s New World Store – what is it, how to access it and what you can purchase!

What is the New World Store and how to access it
Amazon’s New World MMORPG has a dedicated in-game store that sells cosmetics, skins and unique items, exclusively available only there.
The Store is only available from in-game. You can open it from the main game menu.
Hit ESC and then navigate to the top bar and click on the “Store” button located between the Character tab and Settings tab.
You can also access specific segments and parts from the store “remotely” while interacting with other menus in the game. A good example is the “Change Skin” option in your Character panel:
When you select a slot that has a clothing or armor piece equipped, you can change their skin with any of the already available skins you have by clicking on the “Change Skin” button at the bottom of the menu.
These skins can be either special unlocks like the Pre-order gifts or purchased from the Store items.
How to use the New World Store
The Store in New World works with a special currency called Marks of Fortune . This currency can be purchased with real-life money.
This currency can be purchased separately from the game and in whatever quantities you want, as many times as you want. You do that by spending real-life money on the game’s Steam page.
The prices in the image above are in Euro and in case you are reading this guide on a smaller screen, here are the prices and for each package:
- Buy 5 000 Marks of Fortune = 3.99 Euro
- Buy 11 000 Marks of Fortune (10k + 1k bonus) = 8.19 Euro
- Buy 23 000 Marks of Fortune (20k + 3k bonus) = 16.79 Euro
- Buy 41 000 Marks of Fortune (35k + 6k bonus) = 29.99 Euro
- Buy 60 000 Marks of Fortune (50k + 10k bonus) = 41.99 Euro
The prices are in Euro, because that’s my local currency for Steam. Yours might vary. And please note that these prices may vary slightly depending on your location, currency and other factors, including some kind of a special promotion Amazon Games Studio (AGS) might decide to run from time to time.
All items from the New World Store are bound to your account. They can be used on any of your characters, but cannot be sold or traded to other players.
It’s important to note that there are no Power-boosting items available for purchase in New World’s store. Everything you will find here is some form of decoration or appearance-altering item.
New World Store Categories overview
The Store is split into several sections or tabs or categories (whichever best suits you). The available tabs or categories are (in this order):
- Featured Items
- Consumables
- Emotes
- Armor Skins
- Weapon Skins
- Housing Items
- Company Crests
- Bundles
Each Category, apart from the Featured items, you can sort by one of the following criterias:
- Release Date
- Name
- Price
Right now the amount of items is not overwhelming, so sorting might seem strange, but as AGS continue to add more and new items to each category, you will definitely need this sorting option.
At the top left of the Store’s UI you will also find a Search field, which will no doubt become handy when the items start piling up in large quantities.
Last, but not least, in the top right corner and the bottom left corner are the buttons from where you can purchase additional Marks of Fortune.
Below is a brief overview of each section and a screenshot with the available items at the launch of the game. Note that new items will be added regularly to the store.
Featured Items
When you first open the Store, you will see the Featured Tab with a pre-selected items that AGS wants to highlight for you.
Consumables
The Consumables section is primarily reserved for things like Dyes, which you can use to change the colors of your gear.
Emotes
Emotes are visually expressive animations that you can use to demonstrate a specific feeling, desire or hint at someone sitting next to you.
To access the Emotes in-game you can either type /”emote_name” in the chat or press the key-bind (default P) to open the Emotes menu:
Armor Skins
The armor skins tab lists all armor appearance-altering cosmetics. You can apply these to each individual armor piece you wear as I explained earlier in this guide.
Weapon Skins
The Weapon Skins section contains all items that change the appearance of your weapons. Note that these, much like the armor skins, only change the appearance of the gun, bow or melee weapon you use, but not its stats or performance in combat.
Housing Items
This is the place you would spend a lot of time browsing (eventually) in the future looking for cool decorations for your house. At the moment the category is not very populated with items, but down the line you can expect a lot more to be added.
Company Crests
This category sells decorative symbols for your Guild’s crest. In New World guilds are called Companies and each one can design their own unique Crest to be easily recognizable in the world or on the battlefield.
Bundles
The Bundles category contains items that you may have already seen in the previous categories. Bundles, as the word suggests – are packs of items grouped together. They are items AGS believes many players would like to buy together as a whole.
If you buy items in a bundle, the price would be lower compared to buying items separately one by one if and when they are available.
Should you use the New World Store and when
There is always a tricky moment when it comes to in-game cash shops. The New World Store is a real-life money sink. It is also a way for the developers to make money to support the ongoing development of the game.
If you like something, there’s no harm in getting some Marks of Fortune and purchase this item. But be careful and don’t overspend.
New World Store Contents for September 28 (Game Launch)
This is a beginner friendly guide to the New World Store, but if you are reading it early enough, you might want to know what is actually available in it at the moment. If you read it later, you might be curious to know what the store had to offer when the game launched. I am sure that this will feel empty and funny compared to the amount of items available in an year or two :)))
