The Fire Giant armor set is available in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Dawn of Ragnarok expansion. Here’s everything you need to know!
What is the Fire Giant Armor Set
The Fire Giant armor set is exclusively available as loot from the gear chests in Svartalfheim, the dwarven world, released with the Dawn of Ragnarok expansion and only available to players who can travel to Svartalfheim.
The Fire Giant set is part of the Bear gear collection and any Red passives increasing Bear gear from your Skill Tree will directly increase the stats and boost the performance of this set. This is a Mythical tier armor set. You can level it up to Divine tier.
The Fire Giant armor set has the following set bonuses:
- (2 Pieces Equipped) Increase Melee Damage when your Weapon is on fire
Bonus: +25.0 Melee Damage - (5 Pieces Equipped) Additional increase to Melee Resistance
Bonus: +25.0 Resistance
The numbers in the brackets show how many pieces of the set you need to equip to get the bonus perks. It doesn’t matter which armor pieces you slot as long as they belong to the same set.
When can you get the Fire Giant Set in AC Valhalla?
All five pieces are available in Svartalfheim. This new map was released on March 10th, 2022. It is exclusively available to players, who own the base game and have purchased the Dawn of Ragnarok expansion. This expansion is not part of the Season Pass and must be purchased separately. You can get this set as soon as you arrive to Svartalfheim and finish the tutorial mission.
When should you get the Fire Giant Set in AC Valhalla?
The whole region is designed as a high-level EndGame experience, but if you need to, you could lower the difficulty and make everything feel like a breeze. I advise you against that. You paid money to enjoy the content, not to breeze through it like it’s nothing.
You will need the Power of Muspelheim to traverse through lava rivers and lava lakes, but you get this ability during the starter mission. For one of the pieces, you will also need Power of the Raven. Just remember to have these two equipped. Any other abilities are optional.
Fire Giant Armor Set visual overview
In the video and images below you can take a closer look at the armor from all sides.
How to get the Fire Giant Set in Valhalla
The Fire Giant armor set is built from five pieces – helm, cape, chest, boots and bracers. They are all available as loot in Svartalfheim.
Where to find the Fire Giant Helmet
The Fire Giant Helmet is in Gomull-Bru in Gullnamar. The location of the armor is near the western bank of the Vindklief River, southwest from Jordber Shelter and north from Uldar.
Find the big movable object – the giant obelisk on a platform. Activate Power of Muslepheim and go in the lava to move the object and reveal the entrance to the hidden room behind it.
The Chest is right in that small secret room and the Fire Giant Helmet is now yours!
Where to find the Fire Giant Cloak
The chest containing the Fire Giant Cloak is located in the middle region of Svartalfheim – Eitri – in Jarn Herad. It’s just northeast from the Quick Travel point.
Make sure your Hugr bar is filled up, you will need to cross some lava rivers. Find the door that can be opened to one of the buildings and get inside.
On the left side, you will see a giant boulder. Activate the Power of Muspelheim and move the object back to the solid rock you are now standing on (image below).
Then use the boulder to climb up on the ladder that’s right up in front of you. Get to the second floor.
The chest is on the upper floor, free for grabs.
Where to find the Fire Giant Armor
The armor piece from the Fire Giant set is in Skidgardr. This village (or what remains of it) is located in Gullnamar, southwest from Uldar.
You will need two keys to unlock the chest containing the Fire Giant armor piece. The two keys are nearby. For one of them, you will need the Power of the Raven ability. You can easily pick it up by defeating a big black raven bird. They are nearby the location.
To get Power of Muslepheim, defeat a Muspel that holds it. For Power of the Raven, defeat a big black raven that holds it.
The first key is on a small island, surrounded by lava. The key is right in the open and for this one you can use Power of Muspehleim, but you don’t have to. Just roll through the lava to get to the small island.
The second key is high up on a platform on a tree nearby. You need Power of the Raven to get up there. I could not find another way to climb to it. Fly up there, break the vase and pick up the second key.
Facing southwest, you will see the entrance to the underground cave. This is where the chest with the Armor is.
It’s a small room with a lava pool and the chest is behind it. You do not need the special ability to get to the chest.
Where to find the Fire Giant Bracers
The Fire Giant Bracers chest is in a cave in Uldar, in Gullnamar. On the image below the player arrow is where the entrance to the cave is.
The entrance to the cave is on the north wall of the city.
As you enter, look to your right. That’s the path you want to take.
Activate Power of Muspelheim and traverse through the lava river. Slide through the crack in the stone wall.
Follow the path forward until you see a breakable wall segment on your left. Blow it up.
At the end of this corridor, there will be another small room with a body of a dwarf in it. Next to that body is the chest with the Fire Giant Bracers.
Where to find the Fire Giant Trousers
The chest with the Fire Giant Trousers is in Horfinn-nama, in the Svaladal region.
There’s a two-story building in this area. Its ground floor is flooded with lava. Next to it, you will find an entrance to what appears to be an old mine. That’s where you have to go.
Inside you will find a large lava pool and a boulder you will need to move back to free up the entrance behind it. You’ll need Power of Muspelheim for this.
The next room is filled with poisonous gas. Throw a torch to clear it up.
You can go straight ahead across the broken bridge to the other side and open a door that will lead you to the cellar of the two-story building. That’s a quick way out for later. You actually want to take to the right next. Dive underwater and swim to the other side of this cave.
As you get up on the other side, look to your left. This is the path you need to take to the chest. You will need the Power of Muspehleim again. And a key to open the metal door. You should have picked up the key during your short underwater swim section earlier.
If you don’t have a second Hugr bar yet, fill up your bar by going to the surface and picking up flowers or interacting with the Yggdrassil tree near the entrance to the mine. The chest is at the end of this narrow pathway.
