The Jotun Mantle armor set is available in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Dawn of Ragnarok expansion. Here’s everything you need to know!
What is the Jotun Armor Set
The Jotun Mantle armor set is exclusively available as loot fort defating Suttungr Outriders in Svartalfheim, the dwarven world, released with the Dawn of Ragnarok expansion and only available to players who can travel to Svartalfheim.
The Jotun Mantle set is part of the Wolf gear collection and any Blue passives increasing Wolf gear from your Skill Tree will directly increase the stats and boost the performance of this set. This is a Mythical tier armor set. You can level it up to Divine tier.
The Jotun Mantlearmor set has the following set bonuses:
- (2 Pieces Eqiupped) Temporarily increase Armor when you use an Ability
Duration: 15 seconds
Bonus: +30.0 Armor - (5 Pieces Equipped) Additional increase to Melee Resistance
Bonus: +20.0 Melee Resistance
The numbers in the brackets show how many pieces of the set you need to equip to get the bonus perks. It doesn’t matter which armor pieces you slot as long as they belong to the same set.
When can you get the Jotun Mantle Set in AC Valhalla?
All five pieces are available in Svartalfheim. This new map was released on March 10th, 2022. It is exclusively available to players, who own the base game and have purchased the Dawn of Ragnarok expansion. This expansion is not part of the Season Pass and must be purchased separately. You can get this set as soon as you arrive at Svartalfheim and finish the tutorial mission.
When should you get the Jotun Set in AC Valhalla?
The whole region is designed as a high-level EndGame experience, but if you need to, you could lower the difficulty and make everything feel like a breeze. I advise you against that. You paid money to enjoy the content, not to breeze through it like it’s nothing.
This set involves defeating Jotun enemy NPCs, some of them are stronger, but no boss fights. You do not require any of the Hugr Powers for this.

How to get the Jotun Mantle Set in AC Valhalla
The Jotun Mantle set is a reward for discovering Suttungr Outriders groups in Svartalfheim and defeating their leaders. It is not found in chests like the Dwarven Blacksmith set and the Fire Giant set are.
There are two ways to get the set. I will explain both below – the longer and “official” way of helping dwarves in distress to hear their clues or just going to the exact locations and defeating the leader.
Get the set by completing Dwarf in Distress world events
To discover the locations of the Suttungr Outriders, you can complete the “Dwarves in Distress” world events. They are marked with a blue dot on your map. After you approach them, they change to a new type of icon, unique to these events:
When you arrive at one of these locations, you will see a dwarf surrounded by a group of Jotun NPCs. They will be threatening and taunting the dwarf. You need to defeat them all and then talk to the dwarf. The Jotun enemies are nothing special and nothing out of the typical soldier-like NPCs you have fought before.
The Dwarf in Distress locations are all over the map. Not every one of them will reveal the exact place where you will find the Suttungr Outriders group.
Sometimes two or three dwarves you rescue will describe the same location, but only after you talk to all of them, the exact spot will be marked on the map.
Their descriptions are usually very vague and unhelpful.
After you talk to enough dwarves who are describing the same location, Havi (your character) will mumble something about a familiar place. This is an indication for you to check the map. The exact location will now be marked with a wolf’s head, showing you where you need to go.
Where to find all 5 Suttungr Outriders Locations
If you are not feeling like exploring Svartalfheim for the dwarfs in distress, I have the exact locations of all five leaders listed below. You should be able to directly go there and defeat them, then confirm the NPC kill and get the reward.
When you first go to these groups, they will be in animal shape. Hit them once or twice to force them to transform back to their true form. Do not hit them while they are transforming. They are immune during that animation.
The Jotun Helmet is held by Ljethr. This Suttungr Outriders leader is located northeast from Stor Mylna, in Svaladal.
The Jotun Cloak drops from Vessaligr. This leader and his group are located west from Sudra Mylna in Vangrinn.
Gygr holds the Jotun Armor. This leader and his group are located in the far northwestern corner of the map, in Vangrinn. Norwest from Ey Mylna and Dolgar Mylna.
The Jotun Vambraces drop from Banir. His group is in the swamps south from Eitri and east from Afalvat Mylna, in Vangrinn.
The last piece of the Jotun set – the trousers – drops from Iaten. This leader is northern Svaladal.
