Star Wars Hasbro Pulse London Comic-Con 2022 announcements

Hasbro always takes the opportunity to show some of the upcoming products at big events. This time, it was at London Comic Con 2022. And we are taking a closer look at the Star Wars line, of course!

Normally I don’t get too excited with these streams, the main reason is that I don’t consider myself a collector. However, there are two or three figures that I’m definitely going to buy. Hasbro has been on a pretty good streak.

Before jumping straight into the Comic-Con announcements, here are other items that were revealed a few days ago.

Retro collection, Return of the Jedi 40th anniversary

A total of six figures of the Retro Collection line, to celebrate forty years of the last movie of the original trilogy. These figures are Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Lando Calrissian, Han Solo, Biker Scout, and The Emperor.

¨Phase II Clone Trooper Electronic Helmet

After so many years we’re finally getting the Phase II helmet, this helmet has built-in effects that will make role-play a lot easier. Cosplayers must be so excited about the release of a completely white helmet, we’re about to see some crazy mods.

Luke Skywalker FX Elite Lightsaber

Hasbro’s top-of-the-line Lightsabers are adding one more to the collection, the Luke Skywalker Lightsaber comes with a detachable blade, sound effects that are activated when you move it or hit something, and a bright green light that’s going to let you recreate your favorite Return of the Jedi scenes.

Vintage Collection

Let’s see what else Hasbro has prepared for us.

Speeder Bike with Scout Trooper

In my opinion, a Scout Trooper is never complete without his Speeder Bike. I’ve always felt strange about the idea of buying them separately, they’re an iconic match and this time I’m getting my expectations met with the Speeder Bike/Scout Trooper pack.

Pre-Order November 1, Available Spring 2023

The speeder bike comes with a stand so that you can pose it however you like, some past editions didn’t include this accessory so I’m happy that they thought about this. The Scout Trooper has a re-sculpted helmet for better accuracy.

Paz Vizsla

The heavy-armored Mandalorian soldier that appears in the series is coming to the Vintage Collection. Mandalorian warriors have many weapons in their arsenal; a jetpack, vibroblade, heavy repeater cannon, and energy shield make this figure a menace on the battlefield.

Pre-Order November 1, Available Spring 2023

The armor is moderately weathered, its blue color is on point with what we see in The Mandalorian and the fire effects on the cannon and jetpack add a very cool effect for those fans that love taking photos of their figures.

Kithaba and Nikto Skiff Guards

Making a return for the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi; the Nikto, and Kithaba Skiff Guards

The Nikto has a pistol, a vibrostaff, and a removable helmet. There’s a surprising amount of detail and textures on its skin, clothes, and face. My favorite thing about this figure is how well-sculptured the face is, it looks unmistakably like a Nikto and while this should be the case with every alien species, sometimes they don’t look that good.

The Kithaba has a simpler design but they also did a good job with it, like his fellow Skiff Guard, the Kithaba carries a Vibrostaff and a blaster pistol. This figure is a red bandana variant re-release. If you want to recreate the Sarlacc Pit scene these figures are perfect for it.

Pre-Order November 1, Available Spring 2023

Wooof

This Nikto is spotted in Jabba the Hutt’s palace. He looks a little different from the Nikto skiff guard but the scales and facial structure remain the same. My favorite part of this figure is the lower part of the robes that look like wool.

Saelt-Marae

Also known by fans as “cat-face”, this odd-looking creature shows up on Jabba’s Khetanna. Its very strange appearance makes it stand out from the rest of the figures, the silly mustache and robes made of cloth are super cool. Saelt-Marae also comes with a Vibrostaff.

Pre-Order November 1, Available Spring 2023

Black Series

Of course, we have new figures coming to the Black Seres lines of toys and collectibles from Hasbro!

Admiral Ackbar

This figure launched exclusively at this event, the Black Series Admiral Ackbar joins the lineup that celebrates the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi. It includes his staff and his classic blaster from the original Kenner figure.

Ackbar is wearing his classic white outfit and the cream vest. The skin paint is a little too vibrant for me but the sculpture is pretty good.

Pre-orders begin November 2nd for those who couldn’t attend London Comic Con.

Mara Jade

A fan-favorite character from the Star Wars Expanded Universe, Mara Jade; wife of Luke Skywalker, Hand of the Emperor and Jedi. Her iconic red hair and purple lightsaber look perfect.

She also has a blaster pistol and a belt with a holster that’s very similar to the one that Han Solo and other notable smugglers use. The black leather-ish outfit she’s wearing was inspired by Issue #4 of Dark Force Rising.

Scar Trooper Mic

Sargeant Kreel was the first member of Task Force 99 to be released, for months he’s been standing alone on those shelves but now Mic is joining him. Without putting too much attention, Mic’s armor might look like a regular Stormtrooper but there are some differences; the visor, antenna, and retractable jetpack are the most important ones.

Dr. Aphra

Dr. Aphra is a comic book character that has encountered The Empire, Crimson Dawn, Rebel Alliance, and survived. She’s wearing her orange shirt, light brown coat, dark brown pants, black boots, and distinctive helmet that are shown on one of the covers of her comic book series.

Dr. Aphra was first released for the Vintage Collection a few years ago, and now she’s joining the Black Series line. I love that we’re finally getting characters from different types of media and not only movies or series.

Darth Malak and Bastila Shan

The main villain of one of the greatest Star Wars games of all time: Star Wars The Old Republic. Darth Malak’s figure is a brand new sculpt. Even with this scale, it’s possible to recognize his big, imposing figure. The crimson armor perfectly matches his cape, lightsaber, and breather.

To oppose Darth Malak, Hasbro is releasing Jedi Master Bastila Shan. Both of them make their debut in the Black Series collection. Bastila’s wearing her standard Jedi Robes with the utility belt. Her iconic yellow double-bladed lightsaber comes with detachable blades.

These two are my favorite announcements of the month, as a huge fan of Knights of the Old Republic I can’t wait for the rest of the figures to be announced and released.
