All the major information about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the highly anticipated sequel of Jedi: Fallen Order was supposed to be revealed at The Game Awards but apparently someone at Steam made a mistake.
Today, some details about the game like the release date and pre-order perks were revealed, just three days before the event, I’m sure EA is not happy about it.
If you pre-purchase the game (when available) you’ll get The Hermit Cosmetic, Hermit Lightsaber Set, and Combustion Blaster Set.
In case you haven’t noticed, these three items are what Obi-Wan uses in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, well, almost all of them.
I find it odd that they chose this lightsaber since it’s the one Kenobi uses in The Phantom Menace and because Maul kicks it off the edge when never got to see it again.
This game happens in the same time period as the Obi-Wan Kenobi series so it’s not too crazy to think that Obi-Wan could be mentioned or even make a very small cameo. Which makes it even more confusing to me as to why they didn’t use the right lightsaber.
For those who don’t remember, this is the Black Series version of the saber that Obi-Wan uses in Revenge of the Sith and his series, it might not be a perfect replica but it looks the same.
If you pre-order the Deluxe edition you’ll get the Galactic Hero Cosmetic Pack and New Hero Cosmetic Pack.
The Galactic Hero Cosmetic Pack is based on Han Solo, with his Black vest and iconic DL-44 blaster being the highlights of the pack.
The New Hero Cosmetic Pack will allow you to look just like Luke Skywalker when he receives the medal for destroying the Death Star at the end of A New Hope, that R2-D2 skin for BD-1 looks amazing!
A small description of the game was also revealed but it doesn’t spoil anything meaningful. Here’s what it says:
“Pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by threats new and familiar. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times – but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?”
The only thing that I get from this is that Cal is going to get pushed to the limit, with the Empire now looking for him everything is going to be more dangerous for him and his crew.
New and familiar threats? Aside from Scout Troopers, Storm Troopers, Purge Troopers, and wild beasts we are getting three new enemies that we currently know about.
A few months ago, Hasbro revealed some of the Jedi: Survivor figures, these include a KX Security Droid, B1 Battle Droid, Riot Scout Trooper, and a MagnaGuard. Battling against droids is certainly going to feel refreshing.
Minutes before the leak, EA and Star Wars social media accounts released the first official poster of the game. In it, we can see a grown-up Cal Kestis, the trustworthy BD-1, and The Mantis.
The release date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is March 15th (or 16th, depending on where you live).
If this information is correct that means that we’re going to have only one week to read Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars, the novel that serves as a tie-in between Fallen Order and Survivor.
Despite all of it being leaked by Steam, EA can always make a last-minute decision and change the release date. We only have to wait three days to find out when The Game Awards reveal everything we need to know on December 8th. I’m super excited to see what they have prepared for us!
