SWTOR 7.5.1 Changes Overview and Patch Notes

Siow by Siow|

Update 7.5.1 is coming to SWTOR on August 20th, 2024. I hope you like the smell of carbonite, as this update introduces the new bounty hunting-themed Galactic Season and more!

How game updates work in SWTOR

Game updates in SWTOR are pretty consistent and predictable these days. SWTOR’s update schedule features alternating major and minor updates released roughly every three months. We will typically get 2 story updates, 2 Galactic Seasons, and 2 PvP Seasons per year.

Expansions are released every few years for free to subscribers and are denoted by the first number in the build version (5.0, 6.0, 7.0, etc.).

Major updates always contain solo story content and mark the beginning of a new PvP Season. The second number in the build version denotes major updates (7.1, 7.2, 7.3, etc.).

Minor updates contain a new Galactic Season, which is SWTOR’s Battle Pass system. They also include bug fixes and sometimes smaller features. The third number in the build version denotes minor updates (7.1.1, 7.2.1, 7.3.1, etc.).

Lettered patches (7.1a, 7.1b, 7.2a, 7.3.1c, etc.) are hotfixes for their associated major or minor update. They are typically meant to fix an immediate issue that was discovered after the update was released.

Update 7.5.1 Highlights

With this update being a X.X.1 patch, there won’t be any new additions to the current storyline. This update will add the seventh Galactic Season and new Date Nights to help occupy your time until the next major update is ready. Let’s go over that and anything else of note that this update has to offer!

Galactic Seasons 7 “The Greatest Bounty”

The newest Galactic Season is called “The Greatest Bounty”. This Season will have the Bounty Contract event available throughout the entire duration of the season. You can earn some cool armor, mounts, and more!

If you’re looking for more of a challenge, the Dark vs Light World Bosses make a return! By defeating these bosses, you’ll be able to learn Light or Dark tokens to use at the Dark and Light vendors found at the fleet!

Our new and detailed Dark vs Light Guide will show you how to participate and when and where to find each Boss. We will keep it updated each week as new bosses spawn in new areas.

As always, we have a dedicated guide showing you everything you need to know about Galactic Season 7 in SWTOR. Look into it for more details on the rewards and which track grants what.

Date Nights for Aric and Vette

Even with all the war and destruction going on in the galaxy, there are those who still find some time for love. In this update, the roster of potential companions for Date Night missions will now include Aric Jorgan and Vette.

Will you make this kitty purr? Or is it a safe bet you’ll take Vette on a date?

In order to go on a date night with these companions, your player character needs to be in a romantic relationship with a compatible companion. This will include Theron Shan, Koth Vortena, Arcann, Lana Beniko, Aric Jorgan, and Vette as of update 7.5.1

Gearing Adjustments

Players will have more options for gearing up starting in 7.5.1 with various missions offering new rewards. Story and Veteran Weekly missions can reward FP-1 Stabilizers or the new Upgrade Cache.

The Upgrade Cache can be saved up and traded in for a higher ranking Upgrade Cache so you can use them for gear upgrades. This change will help you get the coveted Rakata gear typically gained by completing operations. Keep an eye on our SWTOR Endgame Gearing Guide for further details after the update releases!

Basilisk Prototype Venture Bug Fixes and Improvements

The Basilisk Prototype Venture will be receiving a good number of updates. One of the more prominent features is the addition of B3-S1 Influence items rewarded during Venture story missions.

The new influence items should increase B3-S1’s rank to 30 by the time you complete the Venture. If you already completed the Venture, then you’ll find these items available from the HK-24 Astromech vendor in Lane’s lab.

Along with these new items, there are numerous bug fixes and you’ll now be able to grant B3-S1 to alternate characters through the Venture Tab with the “Grant B3-S1” button.

7.5.1 Download Size

Some issues with the “Disorder” and “Sacrifice” trailers have been fixed. These fixes might cause the update to add 2 GB of data when you download the SWTOR 7.5.1 update.

Shae Vizla Server Transfer

If you’re looking to transfer to the Shae Vizla server, you may be happy to learn that all character transfer restrictions for moving to Shae Vizla have been removed.

New Cartel Market Items

The Cartel Market window will have a new tab labeled “Star Wars™: Visions” tab. Another new feature is the “Inspired by” Categories tab that will include items inspired by Andor, The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, and Star Wars: Visions.

The new Visions-inspired items are the Lotus Blade and Burning Ember lightsabers, dualsabers, Scattered Blossoms and Embers weapon tunings. Unfortunately, the lightsaber blades do not appear to be flat as they were in Star Wars: Visions.

Imperial die-hards may be happy with the new Imperial Commando Armor being made available in SWTOR 7.5.1. This armor set sports a classic Sith Empire army look and it’s looking fantastic overall.

Twitch Drops

By watching SWTOR Twitch Streams, you’ll be able to earn the Orlean Voidstream Mount in SWTOR. In order to earn this, you’ll first need to link your SWTOR Account to your Twitch Account.

From there, you just need to watch 4 hours of SWTOR Streams to earn this for your account. You’ll be able to earn this for 30 days after 7.5.1’s launch, so watch those streams by September 19, 2024 to earn the mount!
