Find the Data Vault: Star Wars Outlaws False Flag Quest Walkthrough

Siow by Siow|

This guide will show you how to infiltrate the Imperial Fueling Station for the main quest False Flag in Star Wars Outlaws. You need to find a Data Vault inside the Imperial Station and delete some data to frame the Pyke Syndicate.

How to get the False Flag Quest

You’ll need to complete the quest “New Tricks”, the quest where you receive an Ion mode for your blaster pistol. You’ll then need to return to Waka and the Trailblazer at Jaunta’s Hope.

Talk to Waka and repair the ship’s propulsion systems. Once you do that, you’ll get a cutscene. Eleera of the Crimson Dawn wants you to delete some Imperial data for her to make the Pykes look bad.

How to get the False Flag Quest

If you need to, take some time to explore your ship to see what it has to offer. When you’re ready, go into the cockpit and take off to start the quest.

Recover the Cargo of Sansanna

Your current objective is to recover the cargo of sansanna in the ship wreckage. Before rushing off to do that, take some time to get a feel for your ship.

While you may have flown it a bit during at Cantonica, this is where you’ll really need to get a feel for flying. Go through some holes in debris, get used to the turning, and then proceed to the sansanna.

Recover the Cargo of Sansanna

Keep following Waka’s instructions and blast open the cargo shipment. When you do, two raider ships will appear and try to steal the cargo. Defeat them and retrieve the cargo.

The Imperial Docking Bay

When you reach Fuel Station Visavi, you’ll be escorted by some TIE fighters into the docking bay. Get ready as things are going to get tricky once you’re inside the fuel station.

In the cargo hold of the Trailblazer, you’ll find a panel that opens a door. This leads to the cargo elevator where you’ll need to sneak out from as Waka handles the Imperials.

The Imperial Docking Bay

mperial areas tend to carry useful upgrade materials. Be sure to grab anything you can find whether you find it laying about or inside a locked container.

The first obstacle in your way is an Imperial engineer. You can sneak behind them or knock them out. Avoid the path where the Imperial officer is as there’s no cover and a lot of Stormtroopers in that direction.

Star Wars Outlaws False Flag Walkthrough - sneaking out the landing bay

You’ll find some loot in this area, have Nix fetch it for you so you don’t blow your cover. There’s a cargo sled nearby, activate it and use it as cover to move past the Imperials.

You’ll likely see question marks popping off around you, don’t panic and stay hidden on the right side of the sled. Once you’ve made it past the doors and into the dim hallway, you’ll be safe.

Star Wars Outlaws False Flag Walkthrough - hide behind the cargo sled and follow it

On the right side of the hallway, you’ll find a vent. Enter the vent and you’ll end up in a safe area. Explore around and pick up any loot you find, as you’re doing so you’ll hear a lift activate.

Sneaking through Imperial Halls

You can now summon the lift with the panel, use it and you’ll find yourself in a hallway. Hide behind the crates and wait until a pair of Imperial officers leave.

Star Wars Outlaws False Flag Walkthrough - 2 imperial officers and alarm panel

Once the officers are gone, move forward to the other crate and have Nix sabotage the alarm panel. You’ll want to destroy every alarm panel you run across as security is very tight on this space station.

The stormtrooper will look at the destroyed panel, have Nix distract him then take him down from behind. Make your way through the entrance on the left.

Star Wars Outlaws False Flag Walkthrough - sabotage the panel with Nix

You’ll run into two officers chatting with one another, take them down with stealth, and use your stun shot if they get alarmed. Access the computer near the window in the control room.

This will open a door that leads to a ladder. Climb up the ladder and lockpick the door to proceed. As soon as that door opens, crouch and hide behind the storage containers.

Have Nix attack one of the stormtroopers and stun the other one, then knock out the last stormtrooper. Doing this is faster and less risky than using the plasma setting on your blaster. Check our Nix Guide to learn what he can do and how to use him to make your gameplay more fun and a lot more easy.

Go into the door on the left side of the hall once the camera is facing away from you, you’ll enter a maintenance shaft. Climb down the ladder and go through the vent you find at the bottom.

At the end of the vent, you’ll find a red room that transports large canisters. Jump down and follow the canisters until you find a port you can lockpick. Pick it to bring down the ray shield.

After going through the vent, you’ll find a trio of stormtroopers, one of which is heavily armed with a rotary cannon. There are two ways you can efficiently take them out.

You can stun the heavy trooper while Nix attacks one of the regular ones, then shoot the third trooper. Take out the trooper Nix is attacking and you should be good.

The second option is to send Nix to activate a panel on a column. This will activate some steam that you can use as cover if you crouch. From within the steam, you can take out the stormtroopers a bit more covertly.

The door at the end of the path is too secure with the camera looking around. Instead you’ll need to access another door by lockpicking it. Crouch and sneak into the room once the door is open.

Have Nix attack the stormtrooper while you take out the engineer. Finish off the stormtrooper then climb up the ladder. Don’t worry about the astromech, it won’t take any hostile actions.

You’ll find a ray shield blocking your path, deactivate it by sending Nix to press a button to the right to bring down the ray shield. Take out the officer then slice the computer.

This slicing puzzle is a bit tricky as there are 4 columns to deal with. You can always reset the puzzle by exiting if you need to. Solve the puzzle then turn off the security camera and the maintenance energy barrier. Our Slicing guide will teach you the basics of this popular game of “guessing numbers” (in this case – guessing glyphs).

If you want some extra lore, take the door to the right of the computer to find another terminal. Go back the way you came and loot the maintenance storage, then go through the door at the end of the path now that the camera is down.

The TIE Hangar

You’re almost at the Data Vault, you’ll just have to access the other side of the TIE fighter hangar bay. You can see the area you need to go to across the bay, but the actual path to get there is tricky.

There are multiple paths you can take to reach your goal, but I’ll be showing you the slow and steady path that’s a safer overall.

You can find an elevator that’s on a delayed timer. Go inside, wait for it to go down, then take out the Imperial officer on the terminal. Go through the door seen in the image below.

A stormtrooper will be looping around a storage tank, take them out while out of sight of the other stormtroopers further back.

You’ll still have two more stormtroopers and an engineer to deal with. While tempting, avoid shooting the explosive canister so you don’t alert others.

Have Nix attack the engineer, this will have the stormtroopers look their way. Stun one of the troopers, knock out the other, then knock out the engineer.

This next area has a lot of close-knit Imperials, be careful and watch your surroundings. Distract the stormtrooper near the officer, knock out the officer, then knock out the stormtrooper.

With those two Imperials out of the way, get past the security camera when it’s looking to your right. Have Nix distract the heavy trooper and knock them out from behind.

The Data Vault Terminal

Go up the stairs, pick the locked door, close the door when you’re inside, and then use the Data Vault terminal on the dark side of the room. You’ll meet a Gallusian named Bosnok.

Bosnok is a prisoner being used by the Empire as a bookkeeper. In exchange for his freedom, he’ll frame the Pykes or Crimson Dawn. Make your choice with who you want to get framed, call the cargo elevator, and then exit the other door in the room.

Knock out the stormtrooper, deploy the ladder, and make your way down when the two stormtroopers and the officer below walk away.

Once you’re down, activate Bosnok’s “Extraction Cruiser” and follow it, using it as portable cover. Bring down the ray shields with a nearby terminal, and continue escorting Bosnok.

Bosnok's extraction cruiser - False Flag mission walkthrough

Keep using the cargo sled for cover as you escort Bosnok. You’ll encounter another ray shield and have to knock out an officer to deactivate it. Unfortunately, you end up sending Bosnok to a lower level instead.

Go through the door that leads to a maintenance shaft, rappel down the grapple point, and go up a vent. You’ll find Bosnok surrounded by Imperials.

Bosnok not-so-subtly hints that you should blast the Imperials. Stun the Imperial officer before he sounds the alarm.

You’ll now need to defeat several stormtroopers before you can proceed. Shoot any explosive canisters near the groups of stormtroopers to easily thin their numbers.

With the stormtroopers out of the way, shoot a power core across the hall to bring down the ray shields. Go inside the vent, reach the other side, and use the terminal to bring in Bosnok.

Your next goal is to find the hangar control bay. After climbing a ladder, you’ll enter a hallway. Immediately hide in the corner near the crates and wait for the stormtroopers to run by.

One of the stormtroopers running will stay near the door for a second, then walk through. Take out the last remaining stormtrooper in the hall then open the door he was next to.

You’ll find two officers and a stormtrooper in the room, take them all down then slice the computer terminal next to the window.

Once sliced, approve the cargo shipment and activate the evacuation protocol. This will get all the Imperials out of the hangar bay, safely allowing Bosnok to proceed.

Hold out against the Empire

Go through the door that leads to the maintenance shaft, climb down the ladder, and lockpick the door that leads to the hangar bay. You’ll be spotted by some stormtroopers that stayed behind.

This will start combat that can’t be avoided, so you might as well pick up one of the E-11 Blaster Rifles for some extra firepower in this fight.

You’ll now have to fight waves of stormtroopers until Waka can open the jammed cargo bay door on the Trailblazer. Prioritize shooting the red explosive canisters near stormtroopers.

Be careful of the stormtrooper with the rotary cannon and shield generator. You can use your ion shots to take down his shield, followed by plasma shots to finish him off.

Waka will tell you when you can board the ship. As soon as it’s ready, just run into the ship and don’t stop for anything. When you get into the ship, a cutscene will start and you’ll leave the fueling station.

Escaping the Imperials

Once you’re in space, you’ll have to take down some TIE fighters attacking you. When they’re defeated, you can fly to the communication relay to wipe your record with the Imperials. This removes your Wanted status with the Empire.

escaping from the Imperials and completing the main mission False Flag

Return to Toshara and make your way to Eleena at the Market District in Mirogana. After watching a cutscene, you’ll finish the main quest False Flag.

Our next guide will show you how to get the Nav Computer in the Star Wars Outlaws main mission, The Wreck. Waka needs this final component to fully repair the Trailblazer and let it travel throughout the galaxy once more.

A new side quest called The Traitor becomes available after you complete False Flag. Gorak will call you and ask to meet you. Our walkthrough will also explain the outcomes of the decision you are asked to make during the quest and what you can earn or lose from it.
