Marvel announces covers to celebrate Black History Month

Star Wars and Marvel comics will join forces to celebrate Black History Month in February of 2026 with multiple connecting cover variants by Taurin Clarke for Star Wars #10 and Jar Jar #1. These covers will showcase the most iconic black characters from different eras of Star Wars.

Left to right: Finn, Jannah, Moff Gideon, Greef Karga, Sanna Starros, Lando Calrissian, Saw Gerrera, Cere Junda, Kelleran Beq, Mace Windu, Keeve Trennis, and Lula Talisola.

Celebrate Life Day

November 17 marked the celebration of Life Day, a Wookiee holiday first introduced in the (in)famous Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978.

Life Day celebrates family, peace, harmony, and joy at the sacred Tree of Life on Kashyyyk. Wookiees would adorn this tree with Life Day Orbs while wearing a long, red robe.

There are a few ways to celebrate Life Day despite not being a Wookiee. Like going to Disney Parks between November 8th and December 22nd, logging into Star Wars: The Old Republic for the in-game event from December 16 – January 13, or even buying Life Day merch.

Celebration of Life Day from the Star Wars Holiday Special

Life Day has been featured or mentioned in comics, games, and series. The most notable example is probably the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, which is centered around Life Day.
