The Star Wars Highlights of 2025

Adrian by Adrian|

Star Wars had some great moments in 2025: anniversaries, long-awaited releases, unexpected reveals, and the best Star Wars series ever created. Here are our favorite Star Wars moments of 2025!

Andor

Season 2 concluded the entire series. Its twelve episodes took everything that the first season gave us and took it to the next level. It was an emotional roller coaster; exciting, full of suspense, nerve-wracking, and tragic, the best adjectives I can think of to describe it.

This is probably my favorite Star Wars project since the original trilogy. It combined some of my favorite elements of the franchise and made it feel relatable. Something that was both uncomfortable and necessary.

The music, sets, costumes, writing, and performances are top-notch. The only thing that saddens me is that we’ll probably never experience another Star Wars series with a budget as large as the talent and passion of the people involved.

Trials of the Jedi (The High Republic)

The High Republic is a publishing initiative that began a few years ago. It told the story of the Jedi Order and the Republic before the Skywalker Saga. These events were told in the shape of comics, manga, and books for all ages.

Aside from the dozens of characters that we got to know and love, The High Republic also introduced one of the best villains in Star Wars: Marchion Ro. I won’t dive too deep into details to prevent spoilers, but Marchion Ro is the best embodiment of chaos.

He’s unpredictable, brilliant, resourceful, and dangerous on a level that even Sith would envy. His Nihil marauders are ruthless, and to make things worse for the Jedi, Marchion Ro controls a creature that could be considered the natural predator of a Jedi.

Trials of the Jedi brings the entire High Republic initiative to a fulfilling, epic, tragic, and intense conclusion. It will take you a while to get from the first story to Trials of the Jedi, but the journey is worth it.

Star Wars Visions: Volume 3

The first and second Volumes of Star Wars: Visions delivered some very unique shorts in terms of visuals and storytelling. Volume 1 of Star Wars Visions was made entirely by different anime studios from Japan. For Volume 2, Disney and Lucasfilm decided to give an opportunity to other animation studios from different parts of the world.

For Volume 3, they went back to their roots. With all shorts from Volume 3 being made by Japanese studios. Volume III maintains the tradition of having a wide variety of styles and characters while also having the weirdest and most memorable shorts in the history of Star Wars Visions.

Volume III also had three shorts that continued stories presented in Volume I. This came with the news that, coming in 2026, The Ninth Jedi will be made into a series.

If you want to see something new that is Star Wars-themed and easy to understand, you should definitely check Star Wars Visions. Just keep in mind that none of it is part of the official canon timeline.

Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear

Alexander Freed delivered a fantastic story that explores how Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Saw Gerrera navigated some dangerous terrains just a few months after the rise of the Empire.

While there are more characters involved, Mon Mothma is the star of this novel. The Empire is constantly increasing security measures against those who oppose Palpatine’s politics. Creating alliances isn’t as easy as before because doing so puts a target on your back. This political thriller is a great option for anyone who loves Andor.

Master of Evil

Adam Christopher gave us a novel that mixes different elements into a compelling story. Master of Evil explores Vader’s first tasks as the Emperor’s hand. These tasks are more than just missions, as Palpatine is constantly putting his apprentice to the test.

While Vader is in the cover, there are other characters that share the spotlight with our favorite Sith Lord. Thankfully, all of them are great characters. This story has some very Force-related spooky moments. It’s definitely a nice option for anyone who likes that type of story.

Watching Revenge of the Sith on the big screen

2025 marked the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith. As someone who was born in the 90’s, the prequel trilogy is something very dear to me, especially Episode III. We also got other things to celebrate this, but re-watching it in theaters was by far the best one!

Hasbro’s Jedi Temple Guards

I love Star Wars toys and collectibles, but it’s extremely rare that I’m as excited about them as I am with TV series or videogames. The release of the Jedi Temple Guards was my favorite collectible moment of the year because they are among my top 5 Star Wars characters of all time.

The problem is that due to their lack of appearances, it’s very unusual to see anything of them. I waited for many years for Hasbro to re-release them, and that finally happened in 2025. I’m not the biggest fan of Black Series figures, but these had to be in my collection.

The Old Republic era is officially coming back

Earlier this month, Star Wars: Fate of Old Republic was announced at the Game Awards. The game is being developed by Lucasfilm and Arcanaut Studios with Casey Hudson (KOTOR, Mass Effect) directing the game.

They’re still in the early stages of development, so who knows how much we’ll have to wait. With no recent news about Eclipse or the KOTOR remake, I’m afraid of getting too excited for this game, but let’s hope that this game actually releases without any major issues.

Vulkk’s complete Star Wars canon timeline (shameless plug)

After years of covering everything Star Wars related, we finally decided it’s time for us to create a complete canon timeline that includes all books, comics, movies, and series.

This took a considerable amount of time and effort, but the result is very satisfying. This timeline is and will be up to date with every future release.

Studied psychology at his state University. The first game that left him speechless was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Star Wars is his favorite franchise, but LOTR is right under it. He also loves music, particularly guitar and all the related gear to it.
