The Unexpected Gift questline in Crimson Desert features two puzzles where you have to use a fire arrow to burn vines and Force Palm on three disks to complete it and get an Abyss Object.
Quest Structure and Rewards
Both quests, Where the Light Leads and Reunion, are part of the Unexpected Gift questline. The main puzzle involves hitting three objectives in the right order.

Defeat the bandits occupying Lioncrest Watchtower
The first thing you must do after arriving at the Watchtower is eliminate all the bandits. This is a hostile area, meaning that they will attack the moment you’re spotted. This group of enemies is made up of both melee and ranged opponents.
None of them are particularly strong, but if you struggle with them, try fighting around corners to prevent getting hit by arrows while fighting the sword wielders. Once they’re down, the area will be liberated.
Ascend Lioncrest Watchtower
The entrance of the tower is covered by a thick layer of vines that can’t be cut with your sword. To get inside, take out your bow and place the arrow on top of one of the torches that are near the entrance.
After a few seconds, you should see smoke coming out of the tip of the arrow. Then, shoot the vines with the fire arrow.
Take the stairs all the way to the top. Be careful with the tripwires that are around each corner; touching them activates a trap that unleashes a massive saw.
Check the suspicious helm among the treasure
Among the many items you’ll find, there’s a golden helmet with a strange shape. It is called the Visione, an item that lets you read Memory Fragments. In this universe, it’s how people record their experiences.
Speak with the child
After you read the memory contained in the helm, get out of the tower. There is an opening in the roof; you can climb to get out and find more items to loot. Proceed to meet with the child. Then follow the black cat until you reach some ruins.
Learn Nature’s Grasp
Just like Force Palm, you need to use Observation to learn this ability. Stand close to the blue silhouette until you learn it. Then get close to the ruins and use it to lift the stone wall.
Learn Focus
Once inside, you have to repeat the exact same process. This time, to learn the Focus ability. Focus slows down time and regenerates Spirit. Very useful when you have to use an ability that consumes Spirit multiple times, like Force Palm.
Unravel the secret of the ancient ruins
This puzzle involves using Force Palm on the three disks located on the wall. Whichever you hit, the one next to it will revert its position. This applies to both disks on the side if you hit the middle one.
Here’s the order in which you have to hit them:
- Middle,
- Left
- Right.
It doesn’t actually matter if you hit left or right second. It works both ways. Don’t forget to grab the Abyss Item outside of the ruins.
Approach the child (Reward)
The child is just a few meters ahead. Talk to her to finish this questline. As a reward, you will receive 3 inventory slots.
