The Path of Trials is one of Crimson Desert’s many Abyss puzzles. Find out how to reach this section of the Abyss and how to solve the puzzle within to claim an Abyss Artifact and Frost Skills in this guide.

How to reach the Path of Trails

The Path of Trials is the third Puzzle in the chain of Abyss Puzzles, starting from the Spire of Ringing Truth, home to a powerful boss.

It is immediately preceded by Frostbitten Paradise, with Ether Rest between Frostbitten Paradise and the Spire of Ringing Truth.

The Spire of Ringing Truth, Ether Rest, and Frostbitten Paradise must be completed to access the Path of Trials.

Here is the full list of all chained Abyss Puzzles and their order:

  1. Spire of Truth
  2. Ether Rest
  3. Frostbitten Paradise
  4. Path of Trials (this one)
  5. Sanctorum of Darkness
  6. Loop of Life
  7. Tree of Slumber
  8. Skyloop Bridge

Solving the Path of Trials Abyss Puzzle

We recommend Ice Resistance to avoid damage over time from the bitter cold here. It’s not necessary if you are quick or have plenty of health, though.

When you first arrive in the Path of Trials, follow the path across the moving platforms to reach the Nexus. The blizzard going on here heavily reduces visibility, so it may be hard to see the objectives ahead.

From the Nexus, use Aerial Force Palm and glide across to the Stone Lantern directly ahead of you, barely visible behind the large rock. You can also jump across the ice floe here, but gliding is easier and faster.

Then head to the third lantern toward the North.

From here, climb the cliff behind you. Using Aerial Force Palm three times will clear most of the distance.

This brings you to a path that leads inside the structure.

Upon reaching the split in the path, if you look to the left, you’ll notice a room with a small pit of lava. Keep this spot in mind.

From the split, head to the right back into the cold.

From here, you’ll want to face the wall to the left, use Aerial Force palm to gain height, and climb the wall to the top. Up here, you’ll find a power source that’s frosted over.

If you try to socket it, it won’t do anything. Instead, take it back down to the lava room. Give it a quick dip in the lava to thaw it out.

Head back up top and socket it in place with an Aerial Force Palm or Axiom Current.

This will activate the button above you and to the right.

Climb up and press it. Once power runs through it, you’ll be granted the Frost Element, allowing Kliff to use Frost Mantle. Head up to claim the Abyss Artifact.

Path of Trials Skybridge

Continuing past the obelisk will lead you to another Skybridge you can follow to continue this chain of Abyss Puzzles into the Sanctorum of Darkness.

This skybridge is rather long and still plagued by low visibility in the area. It is linear, though, with many stretches being easy to glide over to shorten the time it takes.

Make your way to the Teleporter, and you can continue to the Sanctorum of Darkness.
