I have no good camera, so I cannot record high quality video materials. As you will see, my pictures are also not of the highest quality, nor am I a professional photographer.
What I wanted to create is give you guys a short tour of what I have on my desk. Under each picture I link, I’ll tell you a 1-line short story about its contents and why I have things organized the way you see them.
A General view of the area. 3 monitors, 1 microphone, Artoo, my old furry-bear and the special custom design (as in custom cut_ top of the desk.
When I purchased a new chair last year, I realized my desk sits a little too low for the chair to allow me to slide under the desk. So, I cut the middle wooden part of the lower shelf. That combined with the extended top table gives a much desired comfort while playing, working, recording.
This picture is here just in case you miss to notice the Artoo USB hub. Seriously, though – it also shows my money cup for pocket change, the digital clock and the white cord is attached to my SWTOR Phisical Security Key tool, which, sadly, is nearly dead now (its button is nearly broken from so much using :P)
My newest jewel – the RODE NT-USB that was made possible entirely because of your generosity on Patreon, my Amazon Referral Link Revenue and YouTube earnings.
This little thing is called ST-6 Soundsation Microphone Boom Arm and I searched local stores for a week until I find it. Its price, however is worth as it’s sturdy, long and helps me isolate even better the key-clicks you would normally hear from 99.9% of the players who livestream with live commentary. A Good example of its effect was the yesterday’s SWTOR Live Show.
On this one you can more clearly see the home-made custom wooden Custom Headphone Stand (the link leads to my guide of how to make it). I am not ashamed to show it as it may look a bit ugly, but… well… nobody would see it during live streams and it saved me a lot of money by not having to buy one. I had similar intentions originally about the Boom Arm for the Microphone at first, but gave way to the pro and real stuff, because if I did buy a Desk Lamp and adapted it for a Mic stand, it would have started fading and failing in a week time or possibly even sooner. You know what I mean, those cheap crappy Desk Lamps from Ikea… for example. BTW, in one of the pictures above you might notice the PC sits on something. That “stand” is also custom home-made. :)
Ending the tour with a smile from this guy. He’s been sitting on the top of my PC case for many years now and I am determined to keep him happy and smiling! Just as I intend to keep you, my visitors, readers, viewers, subscribers, followers, friends.
Thanks for taking the tour!
