Community Topics
- Returning companions – KOTFE didn’t bring most of the old companions back into the game and players all want their favorite one to return. Based on KOTFE feedback, the team acknowledged that spending too much time focusing on companions is hurting the major plot and story. With KOTET the core story takes huge priority and all else is secondary or completely left behind. This ultimately means players may have to wait even longer for their favorite companion to return to the game officially. Bioware wants them all to come back through story, not just throw them into the game.
- Command Crate Opening – Musco made a promise last week during the previous live stream to open a crate and he did it tonight. He did it. Crates are rewarded one per Command Rank and they contain 4 random items. One of the items inside is always a piece of armor. Depending on your current rank, this item will be of different power/tier, but not always an item with a set bonus.

The Story of Eternal Throne
- The Alliance – The player has become the Alliance Commander at the end of KOTFE. They have the upperhand and have earned respect and gained strength after defeating Arcann.
- Vaylin – has taken over the Eternal Throne and has become the new Emperor of Zakuul. Scorpio is more of a side character in KOTET, the main focus is on Vaylin for the upcoming story. Vaylin’s newly revealed past and personal story via the Betrayed cinematic trailer has explained a lot about her behavior and has given a solid background to keep building on that character as she transforms into the main villain in KOTET. In KOTET there are more and much more significant choices that impact the story and turn it into different directions. Both factions Empire and Republic will act in different ways in KOTET, says Charles.
- Valkorion – there will be more of his background and past story revealed in KOTET.
- There will be different options for the various classes. Depending on your past choices and relations with various NPCs, your character may have different dialogue options and reactions available through the story.
- Voss is the first planet the player will (re)visit in KOTET’s Chapter 1.
- Dark Side players who witnessed Koth taking their ship will have their revenge.
New Planets
- Iokath – Totally new creation to the Star Wars universe. It’s entirely artificially constructed planet. Scorpio plays an interesting role during the adventures on Iokath. This planet is the most massive structure that has ever been explored in Star Wars The Old Republic.
- Nathema – It’s… to my surprise… pronounced with a hint over the first “a” :))) Nathema is the same planet we saw in the Betrayed Cinematic! It’s a legendary planet from the Star Wars Expanded Universe (also now known as Star Wars Legends, thanks to Disney). It’s Valkorion’s original world, where he was born more than 1000 years ago. Nathema is a horrifying place, especially for force users. It’s a disturbing place. I think Charles was looking here for other description that a “dead planet”. Nathema is not dead. The Experiment the Emperor performed there (in the SW EU) didn’t destroy it like Ziost.
- Together with the new planets, players will get a chance to see and fight some new monsters and creatures.
Q&A
- Have The Sith rebuilt Korriban after Zakuul destroyed it?
Yes, partially, but not completely. - Can we romance Arcann?
Not in this expansion, but not ruled out completely. Hint: this gives away the story around that character :))) - What’s Lucasfilm’s role in development of KOTET?
Very deep and involved. Bioware worked very close with their lore and story departments. - How much time has passed since KOTFE when we start KOTET?
About the same time as in real life: ~6-7 months.
A Surprise announcement
Drew Karpyshyn’s short story about Senya and Vaylin is now live. You can find it here.
