How to bring your nemesis from Shadow of Mordor into Shadow of War
Monolith is introducing a new system in place for both Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and the upcoming Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The second game continues the events right where Sthe first one ended! The trailer you will see below ends with “Nothing will be forgotten!” and that’s exactly the purpose of the Nemesis Forge.
It will be called Nemesis Forge and will allow players to bring their own unique nemesis and most loyal follower from Shadow of Mordor into Shadow of War. All you have to do is get the free DLC (update your game), log into Shadow of Mordor and the system will automatically detect your nemesis and ally to be imported into Shadow of War.
If you don’t have any saved progress in Shadow of Mordor, you will build your own nemesis through gameplay and bring him over into Shadow of War. The only requirement for this to work is that you need to have Shadow of Mordor installed. But, that’s kinda obvious, hehe, since the purpose of the system is to merge the 2 games together.
Access the free Nemesis Forge update for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam to have your top Nemesis and Follower from the game selected to join you in the sequel, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, on October 10, 2017.
When you activate the Nemesis Forge, it will automatically rank up your enemies and followers, depending on your previous interactions with them. Any and all sorts of interactions with the orcs (even marking them) affects their rank in the Nemesis Forge. Depending on certain circumstances you might even see an old enemy returning from the dead to become once again your nemesis.
The system is flexible and updates constantly, until you jump into Shadow of War and transfer your preferences for the new story. To change the rankings all you have to do is interact with the captains and warchiefs. This affects their ranks and may allow them to climb up or descend down in the Nemesis Forge ranking ladder. Keep in mind that any changes you do in the Nemesis Forge, will be deleted and reset if you decide to reload the Forge again. Be careful where and in which mode you make your decisions and take action against the army of Mordor.
You may not know that if you don’t die and have no nemesis in Shadow of Mordor, Ratbag appears to take that place when you have to fight (in the final quest). Orcs that are part of the main story cannot be your nemesis (Ratbag cannot be your Nemesis for Shadow of War!) and any captains or warchiefs added with DLCs also cannot be a part of the Nemesis Forge.
Important note: In order for Nemesis Forge to work, you need Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War to be installed on the same platform.
To import your Nemesis and Follower into Shadow of War all you need to do is play Shadow of War on the same platform and with the same account you used for Shadow of Mordor. Shadow of War takes your most recent save from Shadow of Mordor and automatically imports the 2 orcs into your game. Now, when and how you meet them, I will not reveal. :)
