A guide showing how to get to all 9 locations with Numenorean artifacts for the Torvin Skill Upgrades in Shadow of War: Desolation of Mordor DLC!

The blue skill upgrades from Torvin are part of the permanent progression, which means you need to only obtain them once and they will forever be unlocked, even after you die.

To unlock these skill upgrades you have to find the artifacts. Torvin gives you nine maps with clues about where each artifact is hidden. Once you find them, simply bring them back to Torvin and he will unlock the upgrades for you. You can do that after each artifact or collect them all and then go back to Torvin – it doesn’t matter.

Below I have all nine locations described in words, images, and VIDEO WALKTHROUGHS for each artifact’s location!

Cyclone

When your Might is full, press R to sweep your Gauntlet’s chain in a powerful arc, knocking down and stunning enemies caught in its path.

This artifact is in the camp where you start off right after the first mission. It’s located in the most east side of the map. Climb the wall on the left side from the entrance and you will find the artifact sitting on top of the structure.

Catapult

Press Spacebar during a Grapple to launch yourself past your target point. Your Kite will open automatically if needed.

The next artifact is hidden inside of a giant monster skull in the most southern section of the area. Jump through the nose-hole of the skull to reach the artifact and pick it up. To get out either jump again or simply “teleport” to the next location.

Chain Skills

Use your crossbow to chain together multiple Stealth Kills or Executions. Press LMB to target additional enemies during a Stealth Kill or Execution. Each additional target consumes Focus and the currently selected ammo. Press L CTRL to cycle ammo types.

This artifact is at the bottom of the fighting pits, located at the far north of the map – behind the fortress. You can easily fly your kite all the way to the back and avoid all orcs.

Wormrot Oils

Gain the ability to use Poison Bolts and Poison Bombs. Press L CTRL to cycle ammo types.

The Wormrot oils upgrade is hidden in one of the Outposts – Undiru Bakh to the southwest. Walk straight into the building through the front portal and you will find the artifact just sitting on the floor in front of you.

Grapple Pull

Hold E to grab a nearby Uruk with your Gauntlet’s chain, pulling them towards you and knocking them down.

The grapple pull upgrade is located in the north-west section of the map. It’s sitting on top of a wooden structure with three flags hanging down from it – the entrance to Outpost Raushgil. Climb on top of the wooden bridge that connects the two towers and you will find the artifact at the top on the western tower.

Fatal Counter

Well-timed Counters instantly kill enemy grunts. Ineffective against Captains and Beasts.

This one is located deep into the fortress. Climb the fortress itself from the eastern side, the artifact is hidden between wooden crates in the yard area just behind the big frontal tower of the fort itself.

Blazing Shield

Holding LMB longer ignites your shield. Shield Charge sets enemies on Fire.

The Blazing Shielfd artifact is locatewd in the north-eastern corner of the map, inside the Azri Aghash Outpost. You will find it on the ground just under a stone arc.

Mighty Shield

Shield Charge generates more Might.

This artifactr is inside the Makhrosh-torgh Outpost, locateds in the most southern of Lithlad. The artifact is sitting next to a pile of wooden crates just next to the eastern border of the area in the middle of the outpost.

Numenorean Fire

Gain the ability to use Fire Bolts and Fire Bombs. Prezz L CTRL to cycle ammo types.

The Numenorean Fire is hidden in the Tozoshi Zadan Outpost, which is situated kind of in the middle of the area. You will find the artifact hidden under a rock arch just south of the mountain wall that separates Lithlad.
