This guide will show you how to start and successfully complete the SWTOR Tatooine Bonus Series Missions, which BioWare made Repeatable and tied to Conquest Objectives with the release of SWTOR Game Update 6.1.1. The stories are different for Empire and Republic, so this guide is split into two segments, of course. Enjoy!
The Bonus Series Missions on Tatooine are not too long and are recommended for level 27+ players. The average duration for this storyline is 25 to 35 minutes. It includes a few additional must-complete missions alongside the main ones.
Originally these were designed to be available, as the name suggests, in the form of bonus content on the planet and offer a narrative, unique to the faction as well as some Heroics and exploration side missions. This guide shows you how to pick up and complete the main storyline along with the spawning from it other missions. The side quests and Heroics are there for you to pick up along the way as you do the main mission in the same region and camps/outposts.
Game Update 6.1.1, released in April 2020, turned the Bonus Series Missions to Daily Repeatable and attached them to the Conquest system as Objectives.
You can complete the main Bonus Series Mission once on one character and it will be locked out for the rest of the week, but you can bring another character through on the next day to get the daily Conquest Objective points.
Only the main starter mission is a Weekly. All other missions described in this guide are available as Dailies.
TATOOINE BONUS SERIES FOR REPUBLIC PLAYERS
The Tatooine Bonus Series for Republic players starts with the mission “Forge the Future”. Talk to Galen Besk at the Anchorhead Spaceport to get it.
Your first task is to head out and help by defeating Saboteurs. Eight should be enough according to the mission. The are for this objective is west from Camp Karnori in northern Jundland Wastes.
When you are done, head to Camp Karnori and report to Major Airen.
To progress the main mission, you need to complete the daily “Militia’s Training” the major just gave you. Speak to the leader of Anchorhead militia Junter Galt outside the major’s office.
First, click on the intercom, just next to the speeded droid and assemble the militia.
Next just head out and defeat 18 Sand People in the marked regions on your map. You must complete the quest before the timer expires. You can use your speeder, the NPCs will follow.
When you are done, run/ride back to the camp, don’t teleport.
Talk again to Junter Galt to receive the next daily-repeatable mission, part of the Bonus Series for Republic players, called “Militia’s Trial“.
This time you are not on a timer. The new mission’s objective is to rescue the Recruits at the Militia’s Barracks at the Manister Base, south-east from the camp. There’s a bonus mini mission to defeat ten Geonosian Forces while in the Base (staged).
I was not able to speak to Vastil due to a bug with the mission at the time. The workaround was to exit and reset it. This could be useful elsewhere too if an NPC refuses to speak to you for whatever reason.
At the end of the cinematic conversation with Vastil you are presented with a Dark vs Light choice:
Your objective is updated after the conversation and you now need to defeat 18 Geonosian Drones.
When you are finished, head to the Medical Center at Outpost Largona and speak to Doctor Aidarro.
The next NPC you need to find is Dester. He is just outside the Medical Center and will give you a new mission – “Water Pirates“. It’s also a repeatable daily, of course.
The objective for this one is to collect the stolen water from the Twin Suns pirates in a location west from Outpost Largona.
Near the entrance of the outpost you will find Professor Larcoh. He will give you your next daily-repeatable mission for this chain – “Show of Force“.
The Mon Calamari will ask you to plant a Challenge Totem within the Sand People camp located behind the outpost on its east side.
Easiest way to reach the marked destination is to take a right turn as you exit the outpost and follow the pathway up and around it. When you place the totem, a Sand People Battler (Strong) will run out of the nearby cave and attack you.
That’s the last mission from the Tatooine Bonus Series for the Republic. All you have left is to return to Anchorhead and report back to Galen Besk. Check the Rewards section of the guide if you want to know what you are fighting for in this chain.
TATOOINE BONUS SERIES FOR EMPIRE PLAYERS
The starter mission for the Republic players’ Bonus Seris on Tatooine is called “From Sand to Steel“. It can be obtained by talking to Sergeant Charnso at Mos Ila Spaceport. This is a weekly mission.
Your first objective is to recover four Mandalorian remains to prove your worth to them. Travel to the Soutnern Jundland Wastes, near the Rennar settlement to their training grounds. You are looking for blue-flashing corpses (if they are not blue and flashing, this means someone else clicked on them recently, just wait). There are Sand People usually around them.
When you are done, present the remains to Randor Mohl. You will find him in the Rennar Household at the south end of Outpost Rennar.
From here your mission splits into two additional missions. You need to finish them both before you can progress further with the main one. These two new missions can be repeated daily.
Talk to Roggar Den to get “Test of the Clan“. He is a little to the north in the same outpost.
To pass the trial Roggar Den tasks you to take the poison. Pick up the injector from the table. Now you have 15 minutes to get the Antidote from the Sand People. Go to the marked location south-east from the outpost. Don’t worry, you have plenty of time to do the other mission on your way first and save yourself some extra traveling.
Get inside the tent at the end of the path, marked on your map. Click on the blue canister to pick up the antidote and inject yourself with it by clicking on the little icon next to your mission objective.
To get “Desert Conquest“, speak to Zola Arvannus. She is just outside the Renner Household.
Zola sends you to the Southern Jundland Wastes to visit a Gamorrean bunker and retrieve Defense Coordination Codes.
Enter the Bunker, get on the second floor and click on the terminal to complete the objective. There’s a bonus mini mission to defeat 12 Gamorrean Forces in the area.
When both missions are ready to be handed in, go back to Outpost Rennar to finish them.
Next, head north to Ridgeside Sentry Post camp to speak with Commander Vames and get “Cannon Fodder” – another daily mission. He is in the Command Center.
The commander asks you to call upon air strikes and destroy three Cannon Emplacements at the Suns’ Set Ridge in Southern Jundland Wastes region. Click on the purple screen at the back of the canons to get the objective done. Get a bonus chunk of XP from the mini mission by defeating 15 Mandalorian Forces while in the area.
The next daily mission, part of the series, is called “Three Strikes” and can also be repeated daily. Captain Tremont is the one that gives it to you and he is located just outside the Command Center in Ridgeside Sentry Post.
He asks you to find the Special Forces Survivors. To do that go to the abandoned Reclamation barrack, located west from Outpost Rennar. To get the bonus mini mission done, defeat 25 Exchange Forces in the area.
Next to the prison door there is a locker. When you are done talking to the prisoner, open that locker to get the explosives.
Now, head out and plant three explosives to Ammo Stockpiles. You will need to go around and take the path leading up behind that building to get to the marked area. Each time you plant explosives, a few NPCs will spawn and ambush you.
When you are done, go back to the Imprisoner Special Forces Soldier. You have a Light or Dark side choice here.
Next, head back north to Ridgeside Sentry Post to speak to Captain Tremont. And then go back to Mos Ila to complete the main mission and with that – the Tatooine Bonus Series for the Empire. You have one final Dark vs Light choice in the last conversation with Moff Yurrion.
REWARDS
At the moment the rewards from these missions are nothing special. They are worthy repeating if you struggle for XP while leveling or for Conquest, but I don’t see how this would be a fact with all of the solo and group content available elsewhere.
The daily missions grant XP, Renown, Credits and some times a random Gear item. The main mission rewards you a Locked Supply Crate of your choosing.
Please note that the images below do not represent the exact XP rewards you may receive.
Rewards for the Republic players
