SWTOR Balmorra Bonus Series Missions Guide

SWTOR Balmorra Bonus Series Missions Guide

Vulkk by Vulkk|

This guide will show you how to start and successfully complete the SWTOR Balmorra Bonus Series Missions, which BioWare made Repeatable and tied to Conquest Objectives with the release of SWTOR Game Update 6.1.1. The stories are different for Empire and Republic, so this guide is split into two segments, of course. Enjoy!

The Bonus Series Missions on Balmorra are not too long. The average duration for this storyline is about 20 minutes for the Empire and 25-30 for the Republic. It includes a few additional must-complete missions alongside the main ones. Recommended level for them is 19 or higher for the Empire side and 35 or higher for the Republic players.

Originally these were designed to be available, as the name suggests, in the form of bonus content on the planet and offer a narrative, unique to the faction as well as some Heroics and exploration side missions. This guide shows you how to pick up and complete the main storyline along with the spawning from it other missions. The side quests and Heroics are there for you to pick up along the way as you do the main mission in the same region and camps/outposts.

Game Update 6.1.1, released in April 2020, turned the Bonus Series Missions to Daily Repeatable and attached them to the Conquest system as Objectives.

You can complete the main Bonus Series Mission once on one character and it will be locked out for the rest of the week, but you can bring another character through on the next day to get the daily Conquest Objective points.

Only the main starter mission is a Weekly. All other missions described in this guide are available as Dailies.

BALMORRA BONUS SERIES FOR REPUBLIC PLAYERS

The starter mission for the Taris Bonus Series on the Republic side is called “Exit Strategy“. Right outside the landing area in Bugtown, you will find Gabe Dovaro. Talk to him to pick up the main mission.

By the way, this landing area is also the original starting point of the Taral V Flashpoint. If for some reason you have not done this story ark, do not miss it!

Gabe Dovaro sends you to find Wixx. You will find her at the Moraine Outpost far to the south in the Markaran Plains (same area where the Imps do their Bonus Series as well).

There is an additional optional Heroic mission and another solo mission available for pick up at this Outpost.

After you talk to Wixx, you will unlock Stage 1 of an optional bonus objective, part of the mission “Exit Strategy”.

To progress the main mission, talk to Rond Berrin, who is just behind you. He will give you “Hunting the Mandalorians“.

Travel south to search for the dead Resistance Technician. Click on the corpse to complete the objective.

Your next task is to recover three Repair Kits. Defeat nearby Mandalorians and loot them to get the items.

Next, scan and apply repair kits to three scanners. At the time of this publication, there was no icon of a special ability to use as you stand next to these (a convenient feature present in most of these types of missions). Open up your Misson Items tab from your Inventory and click on the Communication Repair Chip item to use it manually while standing close to the long-range Scanner.

When done, get back to Rond Berrin at the Moraine Outpost to finish the first mission from the series.

Just outside the base, you will find your next conversation target – Daven Tam. He will give you “Endangered Passengers“.

Head southwest to the corner of the map. At the marked location you will find the Hidden Force-sensitives. A bonus objective unlocks if you start defeating Imperial and Sith forces.

Escord the NPCs back to Daven Tam in less than ten minutes to not fail the mission. Keep all of them alive to complete the bonus objective.

Next, speak to Wixx again to complete “Exit Strategy”. She will give you a new mission called “Desperate Mesaures“.

Travel to Lower Sundari Outpost, located to the west, in the Sundari Flatlands. There are optional Heroics and a solo mission you can pick up here at this outpost.

To scan the Resistance Controlled Droids, get closer and click on the icon next to your objective. These droids are non-aggressive (yellow).

When you are finished with the five droids, head west to report to Colonel Hunt in the Upper Sundari Outpost, hidden among the rocky hills.

The Colonel asks you to speak to two more NPCs in the same camp to obtain two new missions.

Talk to Major Garik to get “The Neutralizer“.

Speak to Sergeant Jojames to pick up “Nowhere to Run“.

Both missions’ objectives are further to the north, near the corner of the map.

For “Nowhere to Run” you need to destroy three Barricades, Disable four AA Guns and defeat four Imperial Holdout Gunners.

A Barricade – click on it to blow it up. You need to be in melee range to place the detonator.
Each of the giant Imperial AA Guns has a terminal you should interact with to blow them up.
The Gunners are those guys mounted on a turret.

For the second part of this mission, you need to secure the drill. Enter the instanced area to the north and click on the terminal on the left side of the drill. Before you are finished with this mission, you need to defend the drill against a few waves of Imperial troops.

Speak to Sergeant Jojames, who has arrived to support your efforts in the defense of the drill.

For “The Neutralizer” you must disable four Generators.

Click on the glowing terminal on the side of each generator to disable them.

Once all are disabled, click on this glowing terminal to Sabotage the Neutralizer.

Defeating 25 Holdout Forces unlocks and completes the bonus objective attached to the main mission “Desperate Measures”.

Return to Major Garik once done. He is waiting for you back at the Upper Sundari Outpost.

Next speak to Coloner Hunt, who will be happy with your results, of course.

To finish the Balmorra Bonus Series for the Republic, head back to Bugtown and report to Gabe Dovaro.

BALMORRA BONUS SERIES FOR EMPIRE PLAYERS

The starter mission for the Balmorra Bonus Series on the Empire side is called “Return to the Front“. Speak to Captain Laverse at Sobric Spaceport to pick it up.

Balmorra Empire Bonus Series Starter Misson NPC

The first task for you is to visit The Markaran Plains and talk to Coloner Proshen, who is in the Remote Outpost.

Colonel Proshen

The Colonel gives you your next four missions. Pick up “Flight Plan” from Commander Moriden. Complete “The Guns of Traken 4” for Colonel Teeg. Do “Downed Pilots” for Lieutenant Heln. Speak to Captain Neuwt to get “Colicoid Feast”.

While at the outpost, you could pick up two Heroic (H2) missions and a solo mission. All one-time-only and optional.

Commander Moriden is nearby. Talk to him to get “Flight Plan“.

At the Remore Outpost you will also find Colonel Teeg. Talk to him to pick up “The Guns of Traken-4“.

It’s better if you do “The Guns of Traken-4” first. The rest of the missions are bundled up nicely close to each other, while this one is in the north-eastern area of this zone.

Defeating the enemy NPCs in the area will unlock a bonus mission attacked to Guns of Traken-4 and there’s another one for Flight Plan as well. Both require you to defeat a number of enemy NPCs.

Near the entrace to the Markaran Wastes you will find another optional Heroic mission to complete while doing “The Guns of Traken-4”.

Careful in this area. The pollution has made the water poisonous.

To complete the main objective of the mission, find the two giant turrets. On their backs you will find a small terminal you need to click to disable the towers.

For “Flight Plan” Head west from the outpost and find the four marked on your map locations of the AA Guns you need to destroy.

The guns for “Flight Plan” are inside towers. Enter and find a glowing blue terminal, click on it. If it’s not glowing, wait a moment, somebody else clicked on it recently most likely.

I suggest you do them in the following order (considering the next objective’s location):

Southeast AA Gun
Southwest AA Gun
Northeast AA Gun
Northwest AA Gun

Now, go to the cave next to the Northwest tower and defeat the Sivron Flight Officer NPC.

Click on the blue-flashing pad right next to you to complete the mission’s objective.

Head back to Markaran’s Remote Outpost to hand in the two missions you have completed from the main story arc so far. Speak to Commander Moriden and Colonel Teeg.

Head south to the Vanguard Outpost in the Stillwater Bend area in Markaran Plains.

Talk to Lieutenant Heln to get the “Downed Pilots” mission. For this one you need to head to the south-western corner of the area to rescue three pairs of Downed Squadron Pilots.

While in the Vanguard Outpost, talk to Captain Renzfeil Neuwt to get the “Colicoid Feast” mission.

In the Vnaguard Outpost you can also pick up a couple of stand-alone optional missions that are not repeatable.

The Downed Pilots are located in the farthest southwest area. Simply defeat the enemy NPCs guarding them at the marked locations and the pilots will be free.

Defeating Resistance Snipers and Sharpshooters will unlock two bonus objectives for this mission.

Return back to Lieutenant Heln to finish the mission.

For “Colicoid Feast” take a speeder or teleport north to the in the Farnel Research Facility in Bugtown. By the way, this is the starting area for all Republic players on Balmorra.

If you want to, you can pick up three additional optional one-time-only missions here at the Bugtown Outpost.

Defeating Colicoids in the area will unlock a bonus mission objective.

Find these green-lit craters and click the little pedestal in their middle. These are the Feasting Mounds you need to poison. Each one you poison, will spawn a few colocoids, who will try to defend it.

When you are done, return to the Vanguard Outpost and talk again to Captain Neuwt.

Finally, head back to Sobrik airport and report to Captain Laverse. That completes the main story arc for the Balmorra Bonus Series for the Empire side.

REWARDS

At the moment the rewards from these missions are nothing special. They are worthy repeating if you struggle for XP while leveling or for Conquest, but I don’t see how this would be a fact with all of the solo and group content available elsewhere.

The daily missions grant XP, Renown, Credits and some times a random Gear item. The main mission rewards you a Locked Supply Crate of your choosing.

Please note that the images below do not represent the exact XP rewards you may receive.
