How to Complete “The Cold Moon’s Tidings” Mission

Once you’ve consumed “The Cold Moon’s Tidings” Unlock item, click on the little planet icon next to the mission in your Mission Tracker to travel to Alderaan where the quest starts.

How to Complete "The Cold Moon's Tidings" Mission

You’ll find Amity kneeling in the snow just outside of each faction’s spaceport on Alderaan.

Amity’s story arc includes three more missions. The first one “Peering into the Force” is the one that grants you the character as a permanent companion. The other two unlock as you increase Amity’s Influence stat. You can read everything about these missions below.

How to complete the “Peering into the Force” Mission

During your conversation, Amity will tell you he needs to meditate at several Force wells on different planets in the galaxy. In truth, you will have to travel to 3 specific planets in sequence so Amity can meditate at a Force well on each.

The exact locations of the Force wells are faction-specific and your map will lead you directly to them, though here is a picture of each location if you’re having trouble:

Well 1 Location: Tython (Republic), Korriban (Imperial)

The first location is different for Republic and Empire. If you are a Republic player, you will find the Force well at the bottom of the waterfall. For Imperial followers, the Force well is on Korriban.

Well 2 Location: Voss

Well 3 Location: Ilum

Shortly after clicking on each Force well, a strong (silver) enemy called a Dark Aspect of the Force will spawn and you’ll have to defeat it. These enemies don’t have any special attacks for you to worry about.

Once Amity has meditated at all 3 Force wells, you will need to talk to him on your ship, which will complete the mission and grant Amity as a permanent companion.

There are two more missions you can complete with Amity. They start on your personal ship and with them you will complete the Amity story arc.

How to Complete the “Visions of the Past” Mission

Visions of the Past is the second mission in the story arc with the new companion from Galactic Season 4. It starts after you complete the previous mission called “Peering into the Force”.

Talk to Amity on your personal ship. He will tell you about his visions and ask you to accompany him to the locations.

During the conversation, you will have to help Amity get his memories sorted so you’d know which planet to visit. The correct choice for the first planet you are going to visit is Corellia (Number 4).

How to Complete Visions of the Past Mission - Corellia choice

Even if you don’t guess correctly, Amity will get to it on his own, so you don’t have much of a choice of where to go. The best you can get are a couple of unique lines of dialogue if you get it right or wrong.

As you exit the spaceport on Corellia, don’t take the stairs down. Instead, head to the platform on the left to trigger a cutscene.

In this conversation, the correct answer to the next destination is Number 3: Nar Shaddaa. As before, it doesn’t matter for the mission progress if you guess correctly or Amity gets to the right answer on his own.

Nar Shaddaa answer

On Nar Shaddaa, go to the Lower Promenade’s Market area and interact with the bottle near the staircase. This will trigger a cutscene.

Examine the bottle

Finally, enter the Slippery Slopes Cantina. It’s just nearby. When you stand on top of the marked location, the next cutscene with Amity will begin.

You have a number of options to choose from in the end after Amity tells you his whole story and what happened to him on Corellia. The choice you make is more of a personal morale choice for you and your character. It doesn’t have long-lasting consequences or anything of great importance for future development.

Help Amity decide

Amity will agree with you if you choose anything from 1 through 4. He will disagree if you choose 5 or 6 and instead resort automatically to reporting Sull Caxe anonymously to the Republic.

How to complete the “Messenger of Peace” Mission

To start the mission, go to your personal ship and talk to Amity. This is the final mission in the Amity story arc. It is the conclusion and epilogue that reflects on the decision you made at the end of the previous mission.

Messengers of the Cold Moon Reputation

Once you have Amity as a permanent companion, you can speak with him on your ship whenever you want. The most important dialogue option is “I have some Notes of Reflection” which you can exchange for consumable reputation trophies that grant reputation points for Messengers of the Cold moon.

Note of Reflection Note of Reflection is a currency that drops from defeating enemies throughout the galaxy. You’ll also receive some from progressing through the Galactic Season 4 rewards track.

The first time you exchange Notes of Reflection, you’ll unlock the Messengers of the Cold Moon reputation track. Until then, it will be invisible to you in the Legacy window.

Messengers of the Cold Moon Reputation Track overview

There isn’t a reputation vendor associated with Messengers of the Cold Moon (nor any other Galactic Season reputation track), so the only tangible benefit of increasing your reputation is the 3 legacy titles you unlock at Newcomer, Hero, and Legend.

You have a finite amount of Reputation you can earn each week, but the limit only applies after you’ve received all the points from the final trophy that pushed you over the cap.

If you want to minimize the number of weeks it takes to max out your reputation behooves you to get as close to the limit as possible and then consume the biggest trophy possible.

Remember, there are several boosts to reputation:

Boost SourceAmount
Being a subscriber+50%
Having a consumable Reputation Boost active+50%
Being in a guildUp to +15%
Having the Reputable guild perk+5-15%
Having the Glory (purple) guild perk set bonus +1%
Maximum Boost+131%
These are not factored in on the tooltip, so pay close attention to the flytext when you consume one to see exactly how much you’re getting. Here are the base amounts provided by each reputation trophy:
Notes of Reflection CostTrophy NameBase Amount of Reputation Points Awarded
1 NoteReflection: Interesting Thought25pts
5 NotesReflection: Meditation Notes125pts
10 NotesReflection: Thoughtful Communication250pts
20 NotesReflection: Group Analysis500pts
100 NotesReflection: Group Analysis x5500 pts per trophy, 2500pts total

As you can see, the scaling is completely linear, so you won’t gain more Reputation purely from waiting until you have more notes to turn in.

The general optimal process is to consume trophies one at a time of the largest you can handle without going over, it’s just like making change from a cash register, but the final trophy you should consume should be the largest. In this case, the largest trophy is the Reflection: Group Analysis.

That said, you also get a lot of conquest points from the daily repeatable conquest objective “Advancement: Reputation”, so you may only want to consume 1 trophy per day if you care about that.

How to unlock additional Customizations for Amity

The new companion Amity has a variety of additional customizations you can unlock for him that you can unlock in Galactic Season 4.

There are 3 robe color schemes each with a base version and a “Shining” version that has more detail and some additional lights.

The Shining version of Amity’s base original color scheme, Moonlight, is unlockable as a reward for completing all of the achievements related to Galactic Season 4, the related achievement is called “A Cold Throne of Solitude”.

You can find out more about the Galactic Season 4 Rewards Tracks from the dedicated guide I have. And if you don’t want to miss anything, read the SWTOR 7.2.1 Changes Overview article where I am showing and explaining everything new with this update.
