Broadsword revealed the details on SWTOR’s next game update 7.6.1 in a livestream on Feburary 26th, 2025, including Galactic Season 8, New CM Items, Bessie Customizations, Face Modernization progress, and more!
Table of contents
7.6.1 Twitch Drops
These are the current and future Twitch Drop rewards available for SWTOR players. Only 1 reward is obtainable at a time, coinciding with the update livestream and eventual release.
Poster: Ord Mantell (Purple Frame)
The Poster: Ord Mantell (Purple Frame) is a Sign deco reward that will be given to players who watch 1 hour of SWTOR streams within 2 weeks after the 7.6.1 livestream, from February 26th to March 12th, 2025.
AC-10 Disruptor Mount
The AC-10 Disruptor Mount is a vehicle mount reward that will be given to players who watch 4 hours of SWTOR streams in the month after 7.6.1 is released, from March TBA to April TBA. It’s a purple recolor of the AC-5 Broadcast Infiltrator.
Check out our SWTOR Twitch Drops Guide for more details.
Date Night Postponed
We will not get a new Date Night cutscene with 7.6.1. Broadsword did not provide a reason, but there is broad consensus that this postponement is related to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA video game strike.
To be clear, they are continuing to make them, but without voice actors, their hands are tied (but maybe you like it that way).
Galactic Season 8 “Rising Powers”
Galactic Season 8 “Rising Powers” will feature greatest threat the Galaxy has ever, nay, will ever know—Kai Zykken teaming up with Czerka. This time, their experimental combat enhancers has gone awry in Uprisings.
You’ll get access to some insane new buffs. It seems like they’re dipping their pinky toe into something like modifiers or affixes.
I’m looking forward to finishing off my Uprising achievements, but as someone who has spent far, far too much time on Dxun over the past few years, I’m a little bit completely done with Czerka at this point.
Galactic Season 8 Rewards Preview
Galactic Season 8’s rewards are themed around the capital worlds, Coruscant and Dromund Kaas, as well as Inspired By Andor™ in anticipation of season 2 coming in April.
Mon Mothma’s Ultragloss Hoversedan
It’s not actually called that, but the vehicle mounts for GS8 are inspired by Mon Mothma’s car from Andor, with one featuring copper and beige Coruscant coloring while the other is a deep blue inspired by the dark skies of Dromund Kaas.
I’m glad they aren’t as blindingly shiny as Mon Mothma’s cruiser.
GS8 Dyes
There are 4 Enhanced Dyes coming with GS8 featuring Matte Gray and either Metallic Blue or Metallic Light Copper with each available with both colors as primary or secondary.
GS8 Hairstyles
For the first time ever, we’ll be getting hairstyles from somewhere other than the Cartel Market. There will be 2 hairstyles on the GS8 track called Senator’s Consort and Regal Consort Hairstyles Inspired By Andor™.
Only one was ready to show off, the Senator’s Consort, which is Mon Mothma’s husband’s hairdo. The guy’s name is Perrin Ferth, if you were wondering.
GS8 Minipets
D-R0M and C0-RU are little probe droids. It’s the same design for both, just a slight recolor based on the faction’s planet.
GS8 Decos
The decos coming with GS8 are a trio museum pieces each from Coruscant and Dromund Kaas.
GS8 Titles and Labels
- Legacy Titles

Bessie Customizations
We’ll be getting 4 new customizations for our beloved murder doggo, the Basilisk Prototype Droid that will be added to a new vendor a Lane’s Lab.
These skins are only available after you’ve completed the Basilisk Prototype Venture, including the Continued Research. They require you to exchange Prototype Data and Role-Specific Data with that new vendor, The Curator.
Hopefully, these skins will come alongside some much needed refinements to the Venture so it isn’t a friction-filled cash grab like it is now.
Cartel Market Additions and Updates
Coruscant and Dromund Kaas Utility Deco Bundles
We’re getting extremely snazzy Coruscant and Dromund Kaas-themed Utility Decoration Bundles. The Dromund Kaas once should also work magnificently on the Imperial Fleet Penthouse Stronghold, though the Republic Fleet is a bit too rugged and militaristic for the art deco style of these utilities.
Hopefully, Broadsword will use these assets on the capital worlds themselves in place of their current standard utilities.
Peerless Explorer’s Enviro-Suit Inspired By Skeleton Crew
We’re getting a proper space suit with oversized fishbowl helmet Inspired By Skeleton Crew™, though it’s also quite reminiscent of Scoova from Jedi Survivor.
For some reason, I feel compelled to make Skadge wear this.
Retiring Old Items Sale
Broadsword will be retiring older CM items from the store in an effort to make newer items easier to find. They’ll be doing clearance sales category by category that last 2 weeks, starting with weapons right now.
Prices range from 50-90% off. Only the items they’re retiring are going on sale. We have reached out to Broadsword with a few questions and will update this article if we hear back.
Please note that dyes are on sale because of the impending dye revamp. They are not getting retired.
Master the Fight Bundle: Storm Edition
There’s another Master the Fight bundle. This time, the mount is not another recolor of the Vectron 240R. Instead, it’s a fusion of the Vectrons Phantom and WGF Veteran that looks the fuselage of a WWII fighter plane.
As you can see, it also supports a minipet, though it’s a shame it isn’t balanced out by a companion sidecar on the other side.
New Legacy Perk
Thankfully, the Vectron Storm 1 won’t come with an exclusive speed boost like the 240Rs. Instead, we’re getting a new Improved Speeder Piloting Rank 6 Character Perk that will be available to subscribers only and offers the same speed boost temporary ability.
I’m glad my toons can use their more prestigious mounts like the Wings of Nihrot instead of these heavily stylized speeders.
Dynamic Encounter Achievements
The only achievements added alongside Dynamic Encounters in 7.6 were the meta-achievements you get for doing them all. With 7.6.1, we’ll be getting new, encounter-specific achievements and only on Hoth and Tatooine.
This delayed deployment is incredibly frustrating for the completionists that pursue these achievements. Those of us who have already done the 260+ Encounters required for the meta-achievements now have to go back for the rest.
It’s becoming a bit of a pattern, too. We’ve had a similar experience with the Dantooine Spring Abundance Festival and Propagator Core XR-53.
I get how these are secondary to the main content and likely slow down the QA process more significantly than they’re worth, so they deserve to be a lower priority, but it feels like the metaphorical carrot is getting yanked away after we have taken just a bite.
Character and Face Modernization Status
Eric Musco shared Broadsword’s plans for character and face modernizations, starting with reiterating their primary initiatives based on player feedback:
- Replacing programmatic global softening of skin features with targeted, artist-controlled changes
- Minimizing the neckline seam
- Fixing textures for races with vibrant skin tones like the Chiss
They showed a couple of examples of the improvements they’ve been working on for the first two points:
They’re also working on the following:
- Improved lighting for characters in gameplay to better match what’s seen in cinematics
- Improved lighting in Preview Window
- Modernizing additional species (Sith Pureblood, Togruta, etc.)
Broadsword did hit a snag with all of this and Jackie Ko, SWTOR’s Senior Community Manager, explained that because the assets are so old, it’s taking longer than anticipated. We’ll see these updates on the PTS following the release of 7.6.1 in March.
Hi everyone,
We’re looking forward to talking about what’s in 7.6.1, updates on the improvements coming to character modernization, and giving a glimpse into 7.7 on Wednesday’s stream.
We will be reiterating everything here on the stream itself, but we wanted to offer the following timeline ahead of the stream. As the team has dug through code and assets that in some cases are over a decade old, we uncovered complexity that resulted in this work taking longer than we hoped. While these changes won’t be coming with 7.6.1, we want to get these specific updates to you all as quickly as possible.
Character modernization remains a high priority for us, so we will be bringing up PTS shortly after the launch of 7.6.1, so we can get your feedback on the changes. The exact dates for 7.6.1 and spinning up PTS is TBD, but for the former we are targeting a March release.
These efforts will continue throughout this year, and we’ll have even more to share in 7.7 and future updates. We’ll see you all at the livestream and keep you posted on things to come.

Star Wars Celebration
We’ll see a short video segment on SWTOR during the 2025 Star Wars Celebration in Japan, along with some themed login and subscriber rewards. We haven’t gotten to see the rewards yet, but they’re inspired by the key art from Star Wars Celebration.
A few of the folks at Broadsword, like Jackie Ko, will be attending, but there is no official presence beyond the video. There is no cantina tour, though they may still have some goodies to give out.
Master Mode Propagator Core Announced
For the first time in the history of SWTOR, we’re getting a MM (NiM) for a Lair Boss! I strongly suspect some of the foundational differences be reminiscent of the first iteration of SM Propagator Core on the 7.6 PTS where droids spawned more frequently and the boss had more health.
Of course, that isn’t enough complexity for a NiM boss, so there will undoubtedly be more. We’ll get to see for ourselves on the 7.7 PTS, releasing in March shortly after 7.6.1 comes out on LIVE.
I expect it to drop Superior Augment 86s (gold 318s) that cost an obscene amount of mats and release sometime in June as part of 7.7.
They have a bunch of great material for the customary NiM mount, too:
- Hollow out the husk of Propagator Core’s trash can-shaped chassis that we enter from the top like a submarine
- Ride or surf around on a floating piece of biomass like an organic Helix Hyperpod
- Turn a vat on its side, mount repulsorlifts to the bottom, and ride around in what amounts to a flying bathtub
- A black charred, crusty version of the Wings of Nihrot
