Contents of the Bundle and FAQ
The Storm I Edition Bundle contains the following:
- 180 days of Subscription time – This will allow players access to all SWTOR expansions including Legacy of the Sith, all endgame content, and convenience features.
- 5,500 Cartel Coins – Digital currency used for the in-game Store, along with the 600 coins you get per month as a subscriber.
- Storm I Mount – Level 1 characters will be able to use this mount without any prerequisites.
- Primary and Secondary Chrome Silver Dye Modules – Dyes used to augment the appearance of a character’s outfit. Each character on an account gets 5 of each dye and they are bound to your Legacy.
Who can purchase this offer?
Any player will be able to purchase this bundle regardless if they are starting out in SWTOR or if they’re a longtime veteran. You will only be able to purchase this for an account once!
How are the items received after purchase?
The 180 days of subscription time and 5,500 Cartel Coins will be added to your SWTOR account automatically. The Storm I mount and Dye Modules will be sent to all your characters via in-game mail.
If the mail isn’t coming, try relogging or restarting the game. If the in-game mail is still missing, contact Customer Support.
What are the restrictions of the items included with this bundle?
You cannot trade or transfer contents from this bundle to other players, and the dyes are Bound to Legacy (BtL). You can only purchase the bundle once per account.
How does this affect those with active SWTOR subscriptions?
The time from this bundle will be added to your account as game time just like a subscription, so you’ll be charged for your subscription the next time you run out of game time. 180 days is equivalent to 6 months, so you’ll likely be subscribed until after 7.7.1 releases.
Storm I Mount
The Storm I is rideable at level 1, does not require Speeder Piloting, and offers 130% movement speed (Speeder Piloting V), making it one of the best mounts to use on brand new characters and rarely played alts.
Minipet Platform
The Storm I mount features a platform to hold your current ground-based minipet. Sadly, there isn’t a sidecar on the other side for your active companion. Maybe we’ll get that with Storm II…
Mount Flourish
The Mount Flourish for the Storm I fires cosmetic blaster bolts from the two guns on the nose of the mount.
You can only trigger the Mount Flourish with a keybind. The default is CTRL+Z, but you can set it to something else in Preferences ▶ Key Bindings ▶ Movement:
Dynamic Mount Colors
The Mount Flourish also makes use of the Dynamic Mount colors feature, meaning you can set the blaster bolts to match the color crystal installed in your Mainhand weapon, though it doesn’t affect the color of the muzzle flash.
The default bolt color is yellow, and the muzzle flash looks (and sounds) just like the ones from the TIE Fighters. The thruster exhaust from the pet platform does not benefit from Dynamic Mount Colors.
You can enable or disable Dynamic Mount Colors independently for each Outfit by clicking the checkbox in Character Sheet ▶ Outfitter ▶ [Outfit Name] ▶ Enable Dynamic Mount Colors:
How the Supercharger Speed Boost Ability Works
This mount has a unique minor speed boost effect marketed as a Supercharger. When you mount up, the Temporary Ability Bar appears with an ability called “Speed Boost!”, which increases your movement speed to 400% for 2s with a 30s cooldown.
The speed boost effect triggered by this ability is shared by the effect from the mount-up effect applied by the Enhanced Speed Boosters Legacy Perk ability and Razor’s Kickstart tactical item.
Based on how the Vectron 240R Starbolt was changed, you are only meant to get the Supercharger Speed Boost on your Temporary Ability Bar if your toon does not have the Enhanced Speed Boosters Legacy Perk unlocked.
In essence, these are just 3 different ways to trigger the exact same instance of the effect, meaning the Storm I’s temporary ability bar is subject to the 10s internal rate limit of the shared effect.
For example, if you have Razor’s Kickstart equipped and trigger it by mounting up with the Storm I, the button on the temporary ability bar will be grayed out and unusable for the next 10s, though it does not depict this cooldown as it does when you activate the ability normally.
TL;DR: The Speed Boost effects from the Master the Fight Bundle Mounts, Razor’s Kickstart tactical item, and Enhanced Speed Boosters Legacy Perk are locked down so you can’t benefit from multiple at the same time.
It’s Bugged Right Now
Currently, the temporary ability bar appears on the Storm I even if you have the Enhanced Speed Boosters Legacy Perk version of the ability unlocked.
Both abilities share the 10s Razor’s Kickstart rate limit, but their 30s cooldowns are independent from each other, so you can use them both provided you are mounted for at least 10s.
Given how wonky the current implementation is, and how much Broadsword has attempted to clamp down on the use of this speed boost effect, I am confident that the persistent temporary ability bar is a bug.
Primary and Secondary Chrome Silver Dyes
The Primary Chrome Silver Dye and Secondary Chrome Silver Dye modules arrive in the mail inside a bundle that when unlocked, grants 5 of each dye module.
These dye modules are bound to Legacy so you’re able to swap them between characters on your Legacy. Since you can just make new toons to get more dyes, they are effectively unlimited.
These Primary and Secondary Chrome Silver Dyes are slightly darker than the Chrome White and Metallic Black Dyes you can purchase on the Cartel Market, though the difference is fairly subtle.
I don’t think you’d notice unless you saw them side by side or were trying to match the dye to a specific undyeable metal on your outfit, so the real value of these dyes is their Primary/Secondary nature.
Check out our Enhanced Dyes Catalog for more detailed previews of all the shiny dyes in the game.
Storm I Bundle Monetary Value
The bundle is a pretty good deal. 180 days of subscription time would cost $77.94 USD and the 5500 Cartel Coins at $39.99 USD.
These two items alone would cost $117.93 USD. While this doesn’t include the value of the dyes and mount, you’re still saving about $18 USD at minimum, assuming you actually want the Cartel Coins.
A better way to think about it is that you’re paying full price for the subscription, but you also get 5500 CC for $22, along with the dyes and mount, which is roughly the same normal price as 2400 CC.
Is the Storm I Edition Bundle worth purchasing
We think this is a good deal for active loyal players only. If you’re constantly on SWTOR and pay for subscriptions anyway, this is nice to have as you’ll get 6 months of subscription time with the added Cartel Coins and other goodies.
If you’re averse to spending money on cosmetics and MTX, I think it’s reasonable to pay the 20 bucks for an extra 5500 CC every 6 months. With all the sales they’ve been doing lately, you can grab a lot of cool stuff on the cheap.
In general, these Master the Fight mounts seem to be the best mounts in the game for new players and altoholics since you don’t have to bother purchasing Speeder Piloting at all and get the Enhanced Speed Boosters built-in, all at level 1.
If you only care about the subscription time and not the goodies, stick to the subscription plan. If you’re a new player, we highly recommend getting the Join the Fight Bundle.
This bundle is cheaper and offers similar features to the Storm I Edition bundle such as 60 days of subscription time, 2,400 Cartel Coins, and a mount you can use at level 1.
You can purchase the Storm I Edition Bundle on the SWTOR website for $99.99 USD.
