Introduction

0:01 This guide explains the best  Vigilance Guardian Solo Build,

0:05 optimized to perform extremely well in solo  content. It enables you to have a far more

0:10 enjoyable experience fighting trash mobs  than you would with a sustained DPS build

0:15 since you’ll be utilizing effects designed  specifically for use against trash mobs!

Skill Tree and Gearing

0:23 Cut to Pieces, Branding Burst, and Blade Burst  are the biggest parts of this build though because

0:28 they enable you to do a ton of direct AoE  damage while spreading your DoTs with ease.

0:34 Searing Meditation, in conjunction with  the Champion’s Precision implant and the

0:39 Preparation combat style passive, makes your  DoTs have a 100% chance to crit and the buff

0:45 will have practically 100% uptime thanks  to the cooldown reset and long duration.

0:51 Saber Reflect is not as useful in solo content  as Vigilance. Most adds get stunned by Vigilant

0:58 Thrust and don’t even hit very hard in the first  place, but the damage can be enough to prevent

1:03 you from DoT spreading. Blade Blitz offers a  nice boost of mobility and extra AoE attack.

Ability Priorities

1:14 This is the general priority  system you’ll be using your

1:17 abilities in against each group of trash  in order to maximize your damage output.

1:23 Your first objective is to leap  to the enemy with the highest HP

1:27 and apply Shatter along with possibly  Overhead Slash. Typically, Overhead

1:31 Slash is excessive unless there is a  Strong or Elite enemy in the group.

1:35 Technically, Vigilant Thrust will spread Blade  Storm’s DoT, but because Blade Storm is an AoE,

1:41 there isn’t really a need to do that. You do  need to aim Blade Storm if you need to use AoE.

1:47 The cone originates from your target rather  than your character’s mouth, so you can think

1:53 of the target acting as a prism turning the  single target attack into a cone behind them.

2:01 Doing Blade Storm after Vigilant Thrust  also means everything will have its armor

2:06 reduced before getting hit by Blade  Storm while reducing the chance that

2:10 the target you’re trying to spread to gets  defeated before getting a chance to spread.

2:17 Overhead Slash, Whirling Blade, additional  Vigilant Thrusts, and to a lesser extent,

2:22 Blade Barrage, all work well as single-target  finishers if the initial barrage wasn’t enough.

2:28 In heroics, you may need to do another  round of DoT spreading with Shatter,

2:33 Vigilant Thrust, and Blade Storm or use more  than just Whirling Blade and Overhead Slash

2:38 to finish off the healthiest target. It’s fine  to use Vigilant Thrust against a single target,

2:43 and if that isn’t enough  you also have Blade Barrage.
