Unknown Adrenals Guide and Locations at Dantooine Crash Site in SWTOR

Unknown Adrenals offer powerful buffs to your damage and healing output and are available in several locations in each of the biomes at the Jannimak Crash Site on Dantooine in SWTOR.

This guide is work-in-progress and is based on the latest PTS 7.8 release, which may be unfinished or subject to change.

What are the Unknown Adrenals

Unknown Adrenals are one of the Special Objects scattered around the biomes at Jannimak Crash Site on Dantooine, released with Update 7.8. The other special object is a defensive buff, called Mysterious Stimpack.

Unknown Adrenal

Increases your Critical Chance by 10%, Alacrity by 20%, and eliminates all ability activation pushback. Duration: 90 minutes.

Unknown Adrenals disappear on use, so only one player can pick up an Unknown Adrenal from a given location.

These Adrenals are available at each of the three biomes. You can’t pick them up unless you have the appropriate biome’s Research Notes buff, which you can purchase from the Galactic Sustainability Institute Reputation Vendor on Dantooine.

Research Notes is a buff that lasts 60 minutes. You can only have one buff active at a time, and they do not persist through defeat.

We don’t yet know what causes the Unknown Adrenals to respawn. Players picking them up is certainly one of the reasons. But other possible reasons could also likely be related to a cooldown timer and/or biome leveling up.

How to find Unknown Adrenals easier

There are several locations where Unknown Adrenals can spawn in each of the biomes. They are bright orange cylinders and if you know where to look, they are easy to spot from far away.

If you are prepared to sacrifice some of the game’s visual fidelity, you can lower the grass quality to make the objects stand out a bit more. This setting is available in Preferences > Graphics > Advanced. Below is a comparison (click/tap to enlarge):

If your PC can handle high quality grass, we’d recommend you study the locations shown below and don’t make your game look ugly.

Check out the locations below. If you don’t find an Adrenal, check back later or keep playing and look at the other locations we have listed. Each location is also marked on the Dantooine Crash Site Interactive Map (under group “Secrets”).

Glacial Locations

To obtain an Unknown Adrenal in this biome, you need to purchase Research Notes: Glacial Trespass from the Reputation Vendor.

Glacial Trespass Center

You can find an Unknown Adrenal buried in the snow in the transition area connecting the two sections of the Glacial Trespass. We have only seen this one spawn during a blizzard. You need to be quick about picking it up because you are vulnerable to Extreme Cryogenic Saturation.

Interference Spike

You can find an Unknown Adrenal on the platform in front of one of the Interference Spikes. These terminals are part of the Frostcaller Dynamic Encounter.

Northeast Glacial Trespass

You can find an Unknown Adrenal on the ground, under some blue plants, at the base of the large tree near the north edge of the western part of Glacial Trespass.

Glacial Trespass Cavern North

You can find an Unknown Adrenal in the center of the Glacial Trespass Cavern, where the Rootbund Bolraida from the Root Cause Dynamic Encounter spawns.

Glacial Trespass Cavern West

You can find an Unknown Adrenal on the first ledge you see to your left as you exit the west tunnel coming from Glacial Trespass. There is a lower point to the east where you can jump onto that ledge to reach the object.

Under Frostvein

You can find an Unknown Adrenal on the ground under the Frostvein flower in the central southern part of Glacial Trespass Cavern.

Geothermal Locations

To obtain an Unknown Adrenal in this biome, you need to purchase Research Notes: Geothermal Disruption from the Reputation Vendor.

Crystal Cave South 1

You can find an Unknown Adrenal on the treads of an excavator in the southwest corner of Crystal Cave South in Geothermal Disruption.

Crystal Cave South 2

You can find an Unknown Adrenal next to the stem of the large mushroom-like tree on the north side of the lake with the little volcano islands in the southern part of the Crystal Cave. This is where the Hot Spots Dynamic Encounter spawns usually.

Crystal Cave South 3

You can find an Unknown Adrenal on the ground next to the large metal container full of rocks in the south part of the Crystal Cave.

Sporefall Locations

To obtain an Unknown Adrenal in this biome, you need to purchase Research Notes: Sporefall from the Reputation Vendor.

Repulsor Pad Jump

You can find an Unknown Adrenal among some researcher’s supplies at the top of the canopy overlooking the Sporefall Forward Camp. There’s a second Adrenal up there too on top of the crates near where you land as well.

You need to have unlocked the Repulsor Unit from the Relic Hunt quest on Ruhnuk to use the Repulsor Pads to get up there. You do not need the buff from Ruhnuk, just the unlock.

Below, you can see the Repulsor Pad at the base of the tree, which will launch you up to a lower canopy. There’s a second Repulsor Pad there that you can use to reach the top level.

There is no safe way to climb back down, at least on PTS. It appears there is a mounting point for a rope, but it didn’t work. You can survive the fall by dropping to the lower canopy and then the ground, but make sure you’re healed up. Otherwise, just use Quick Travel.

Western Tree

You can find an Unknown Adrenal at the base of the large wisteria tree in the large western clearing in Sporefall.

Frozen Waterfall

You can find an Unknown Adrenal at the base of the frozen waterfall, on top of some rocks in the west end of Sporefall.

Under the Roots

You can find an Unknown Adrenal under some vines near the waterfall at the very edge of the Sporefall’s western clearing.
