The Spire of Insight in Crimson Desert is a series of riddle-heavy puzzles that need to be completed to ascend the spire. Find out how to solve these riddles and reach the top!
Where to find the Spire of Insight
The Spire of Insight is located in the Steel Mountains, in the very Southeastern part of the Hernand Region.
The Spire of Insight (and the surrounding area) can be revealed on the map early by tolling the Bell located in Hernand.
Liberating the Spire of Insight
This is a bit of a quick, optional step, but it will chase off the goblins and make it easier to proceed.
We’ll only need to defeat around 20 or so of the goblins, before they clear out. Doing so will progress the sidequest Commotion at the Spire.
How to unlock the Spire of Insight
With the Goblins cleared out, the next thing we need to do is remove these Thorns. This can be done with a Flame Core stored in the Kuku Pot, or setting them on fire with the Focus Light part of Blinding Flash.
Upon reaching the Main Gate for the Spire of Insight, we’ll find it tightly shut and locked. Examining the door reveals the following Riddle:
This may be a bit misleading, as the goblins will occasionally drop a Spine of the Earth Weapon, which does align with the text. Instead, the Riddle wants us to place a Small Pebble from the ground into the offering bowl.
Upon doing so, it will disappear with a flash. Then, the way into the Spire of Insight will open, and we can head inside.
How to Ascend the Spire
Ascending the Spire of Insights includes solving three puzzles that unlock the elevator in the middle of the room.
On a shelf directly to our right as we head in, we can pick up an extra item here, Ranged Weapons of the World – Bows, Vol. II. This will allow us to craft new bows at the Smithy. It’s not part of this puzzle.
Solve the First Floor Riddle
Head to the back of the Room and we’ll see a Giant Book with an Offering dish in front of it.
Examining the Book provides the following Riddle:
Between the text and imagery here points towards a Gravestone, but there shouldn’t be one here, right? Well, a quick look to our right will reveal a very small figure of a Gravestone.
Pick it up and drop it into the dish in front of the book, and it will disappear with the same flash before the book platform ascends to the next level of the Spire.
If, for any reason, we step off the Elevator, the button directly in front of it functions as a call button, returning the platform to your current position. Stepping on it will make it ascend again.
Solve the Second Floor Riddle
Once the platform reaches the Second floor, the book will glow. Examining it again reveals a new riddle.
This Riddle is hinting at two items we need to find on this floor. The first half of this riddle directs us towards a record of History, or more specifically, something to record history with.
In this case, the Pen Tip located in the small office along the South Wall is what we need. Take it to the dish and drop it in.
The second half of the riddle and imagery point us to a Telescope as a “tool that looks to distant places”.
We’ll be able to find a small Telescope on the table in the Western corner of the Room.
Take the dish and drop it in. Both items will disappear in a flash, and the platform will take us to the final puzzle of the Spire of Insight.
Solve the Final Floor Riddle
After the Platform ascends, the book will glow, and the riddle will change once more to the following riddle.
Continuing the trend, this riddle has us locating three objects in the room. The first clue here is “dance of the heavens”.
This points us to the Celestial located between the bookcases along the Northeastern Wall. It’s quite large, but toss it into the dish
Don’t miss the Alchemy Formula for Gold Bars stuck to the bookshelf to the left.
The next hint, “Turning of the Earth”, hints towards a Globe. We’ll find this on a bookshelf along the Eastern wall. Take the dish and drop it in
The final hint, “march of time”, points us towards something that can tell time.
In this case, we’ll want to grab the Sundial located on the Northern bookshelf next to the ladder.
Once we drop this in, the final riddle will be solved, and the ceiling will begin to open before the platform ascends once again.
Before heading up, don’t miss the copy of Two-Handed Weapons of the World Vol. III located on the bottom of the Westernmost bookshelf.
Once we ride the Platform to the Top, we’ll find an Abyss Gate. Entering this will take us to the Chaos Forest, where an Abyss Puzzle awaits.
