This guide will show you what to do and where to go to obtain the Scarlet Crest set in The Witcher 3 Remastered.
With so many new features and quality of life changes in The Witcher 3 Remastered, it can be easy to miss the fact that we also got a brand new armor set.
The Scarlet Crest armor set is very easy to obtain and the best thing is that you can use it in the Reforge, The Witcher 3 Remastered’s new built-in Transmog feature.
How to get the Scarlet Crest set
After installing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, log in to REDlauncher using your CD PROJEKT RED account. This method is for all PC players, regardless of where you are launching the game (GOG, Steam, Epic Games).
If you are playing on Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch, go to the main menu of The Witcher 3 and open MY REWARDS, then log in to your account.
Once you do this, you can log into the game. On the My Rewards page, available from the main in-game menu (before you start playing a save), you can check to see and confirm that the Scarlet Crest set has been added to your account.
Open your inventory; you’ll notice that there’s a letter from Yennefer. It’s located in the “Other” tab in your Inventory.
As the instructions state, travel to the Royal Palace in Vizima. You unlock this location as part of the story very early on. Right after defeating the Griffin in White Orchard.
You can pick up the contents of the chest at any point later on. Even if you load up an old save from before Remastered, the chest will be there, and the gear will be waiting for you.
There is nothing you can do in the game to prevent you from obtaining these sets if you followed the instructions above about signing up for GOG as per CDPR’s instructions.
When you get into the Palace, from the Sign Post, take a left and follow the path to the room in the west wing.
When you enter the room, there’s going to be a fireplace; walk past it and turn right. Walk a few more steps, and you’ll see a chest below the window on the left-hand side. It contains the Scarlet Crest Armor set.
If you are on a brand-new playthrough, you can also expect to find the Thousand Flowers and White Tiger of the West armor sets inside.
If this is the case, you’ll likely end up with more items than you can carry. I suggest that you quickly head to your stash and deposit any items you can’t currently use.
Scarlet Crest Gear set overview
The Scarlet Crest gear has a Level 40 requirement. It provides Adrenaline Point gains, resistances to piercing damage, bludgeoning damage, slashing damage and increases the Quen Sign intensity.
The armor set is also available in New Game+ with a higher level requirement.
