After the release of Game Update 5.9.2 “Galactic Legend”, you and me both have noticed very frustrating delays and lag when inside a Stronghold. Bioware has been looking for a solution and they have discovered the issue today. This morning a temporary fix has been implemented that should hold things off until the next week, when a new maintenance is scheduled for a more permanent solution to be implemented.

Shortly, we are going to be implementing a temporary fix for the lag issues that you have been seeing. We have discovered an issue with the “line of sight and collision on decorations” implementation which is causing it to happen. As a part of the temporary fix, those of you in your Stronghold will be dropped back to character select. This will be happening soon. If this affects you, wait a few minutes and you will be able to log back in (if that doesn’t work, repeat that process).

Once you log back in you will notice that the new line of sight changes for decorations are no longer active. This functionality will remain turned off until next week when we can implement a new patch to address it.

If you are still experiencing lag and delay, be warned that this is to be expected. The Stronghold area resets that was performed is expected to lessen the lag issues.

The Stronghold area resets we did this morning will hopefully mitigate some of the lag issues you have been seeing. However, we will need a patch to permanently address the issue, turn collision back on for decos, and fix a host of other issues.

The team is hard at work to get everything fixed so that we can push out a patch as soon as possible. Even with the team pounding away on it through the weekend, it is expected we won’t be able to push it out until early/mid next week. I will update you as soon as I know more on maintenance timing, expect a post Monday (unless things move much faster than expected).

Here are the current patch notes for the patch (these are not final and subject to change):

  • Closed a gap which allowed players to get underneath the Overlook platform in the Rishi Stronghold.
  • The Cartel Market image for the Visas Marr armor set is no longer showing the Marka Ragnoss belt.
  • Despite the best efforts of the yellow team, the Novare Coast scoreboard now properly tracks the score for both teams.
  • Wins and losses are now properly tracked after all Ranked Matches (this was fixed on August 7th).
  • Dretcher’s Droids in Chapter XIII: Profit and Plunder will no longer reset.
  • Corrected an issue where the Veteran Mode Gods From the Machine bosses were harder than intended.
  • Players will no longer experience intermittent slowdown while in a Stronghold. (this fix also adds collision and LoS detection back for decorations)
  • Using various quick travel abilities will no longer randomly kill players.
  • Various character unlocks have been added back into the Cartel Market and will now display their appropriate price instead of “True.”

Thanks everyone. I will pass on details as I have them.

If you are a Conquest enthusiast, you may have noticed that the Grand Chance Cubes are missing from the rewards list for the Conquest mission this week. This is not intended. A fix for that will be introduced in an upcoming update.

None of those items are actually removed (not permanently anyway). There was a nasty display bug where those items were showing their price as “true” as opposed to the actual price on the Cartel Market. Any other source you can get those perks can still be used. We are going to get that corrected and get those items back on the CM with our planned patch next week.
