SWTOR Update 7.3b Changes Overview

On Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, Bioware released SWTOR Patch 7.3b. This hotfix deals with a few key issues that were left lingering from the 7.3 patch last week!

Today’s patch is labeled as 7.3b. Before we even take a look at what’s changed, you should know that letter patches – updates that contain a letter after the numbers – are usually small hotfixes released whenever required or possible. This is the case with today’s 7.3b.

The most notable fix (in my opinion) in today’s patch is related to the Advanced Terminator Droid and Suppression Droid abilities for Powertech and Vanguard so that the accuracy debuff they provide no longer applies to “Operation bosses”.

Previously, this was making most encounters significantly easier since you could effectively lower a boss’s damage dealt by 20%, though the ability remains super strong in fights with adds. It’s arguably stronger than Sniper / Gunslinger’s Diversion thanks to its much higher uptime.

The Voss armor sets for each combat style initially advertised to be coming with 7.3 are finally available as well, though it sounds like they weren’t able to fix an issue with some of the leggings. Stay tuned for our overview guide.

The initial part of the new Old Wounds story was fixed to clarify that players should take a shuttle to reach the Interpreter’s Retreat on Voss. Check out our guide on how to start the Old Wounds story for more info.

The taxes on consumable items like stims, medpacs, and grenades were removed so that players can trade them to groupmates as needed without having to worry about such a tax.

The values on some items like crafting materials and CM items were adjusted. BioWare says they were being improperly taxed due to their low market value, but it sounds like taxes were raised since they’re adjusted “to be more in line with current inflation”.

Eventually, once the GTN overhaul happens, these taxes are meant to be dynamic and progressive based on the current median unit sale price, so they shouldn’t have to be adjusted manually.

Finally, there were a couple of minor tweaks to fix the functionality and visuals of the Eternal Commander MK-M Blaster and make it so there is no longer an empty item entry for searches and on the last page in the all tab.

7.3b Full Patch Notes

Below you can read the patch notes as BioWare posted them on swtor.com today.

General

  • Players on the Old Wounds’ crit path on Voss-Ka are now directed through the shuttle to get to the Interpreter’s Retreat
  • Various Voss armors set visuals have been fixed, they should now be available as drops from the Shrine of Silence Flashpoint and on the Vendor in the Interpreter’s Retreat.
    • There are some leggings that are still mismatched and will be fixed in a future update
  • The Eternal Commander MK-M Blaster visuals and functionality fixed
  • Imperial players who have made the relevant Saboteur choices will no longer receive an unintended follow-up mail from Tau Idair.
  • The Terminator Droid (Powertech) and Suppression Droid (Vanguard) accuracy debuff now works as intended.
  • The Cartel Market will no longer show an empty item on searches and the last page of the All tab.

Economy Credit Initiative

  • Taxes on consumable stims, medpacs, and grenades were removed as originally intended.
  • We’ve updated values of some items to be more in line with current inflation. This is largely centered around crafting materials and some Cartel Market items that were being improperly taxed due to their low market value.

We have recently covered Keith Kanneg’s message to the community regarding SWTOR leaving BioWare. I recommend you check it out if you have not yet.

And finally, we recently launched our SWTOR Guides Master List – a catalog highlighting some of the most popular guides VULKK.com has created and continues to maintain and update, ordered in various categories. We will be adding new ones to it as well, of course.
