On Wednesday, September 13th, 2023, Broadsword releases SWTOR Patch 7.3.1a. This hotfix deals with nearly all of the issues introduced with 7.3.1.
Today’s patch is labeled as 7.3.1a. Before we even take a look at what’s changed, you should know that lettered patches – updates that contain a letter after the numbers – are usually small hotfixes released whenever required or possible. This is the case with today’s 7.3.1a.
There are an unusually large number of fixes contained with 7.3.1a for a lettered patch. They focus on fixing issues related to Galactic Season 5, some of the new CM armor sets, and Quick Travel.
The Quick Travel ability now correctly pulls up the large world map and displays all potential QT points, and they also fixed an issue where QT points would show up as disabled when they weren’t. It doesn’t sound like they fixed everything with QT though. For example, they didn’t mention how you sometimes can’t QT from inside phases.
The story mission unlocks for Galactic Season 5 will now be in collections and are now unlocked for purchase from the Galactic Season Vendor based on your GS level (previously it was tied to mission progress). They also added the Unyielding Armasaur mount to the GS vendor, making it so you can have multiple of Brrazz’s Gift at the same time. In addition, all GS5 rewards are now legacy-bound and added to collections, as intended.
Bugs related to GS5 missions have also been fixed. You won’t see map markers for them if you are not on said missions, and the conversation with Lord Umbral will no longer reset itself.
There are also a few fixes related to typos, dialogue issues, and typos from those missions and you are no longer able to activate the mission items while inside a Flashpoint or Operation.
Check out our Galactic Season 5 Guide and Rewards List if you want to know more about the new season. Take a look at our 7.3.1 Overview and Patch Notes if you need to catch up on all of the bigger stuff that was released with the most recent update.
The Mandalorian Commander Helmet (the Bo-Katan one) has been fixed, it now has a neckpiece like the other helmets and no longer clips with the Twi’lek’s lekku.
Some body type clipping issues with nonsensical armor names have also been fixed. I assume they were referring to the Emperor’s Chosen and Empire Director armor sets, but both sets refer to Emperor’s Mantle, which was the outfit loosely inspired by Valkorion’s armor back from KotFE/KotET days.
Jackie Ko, SWTOR’s Community Manager, also stated on the forums that the PvP Season Catch-Up system is once again working as intended as of 7.3.1. You were only ever meant to be able to purchase the first 15 levels at 1 per day starting with week 8/day 55 of the season. In addition, relevant decos now drop from enemies at the Interpreter’s Retreat on Voss and everything related to that is working as intended.
I am working hard to update the class guides based on the most recent changes and expect Madness Sorcerer and Balance Sage to be updated later this evening or sometime tomorrow.
Until then, you can check out this dedicated piece on the state of Madness Sorcerer and Balance Sage in 7.3.1, where I go over the practical implications of the most recent changes. I’ll also be updating the guides for the rest of the Sorcerer / Sage and Mercenary Commando DPS specs, but those changes aren’t nearly as impactful.
And, not that it’s really needed, but here are the official 7.3.1a patch notes from Broadsword:
