Notable Dynamic Encounters
These Dynamic Encounters are either a bit tricker than average or offer some sort of unique reward. Bolded entries are not necessarily on this list.
Wire You Doing That
Wire You Doing That is located at the generator north of Aurek Base in Whiterock Wastes. It is one of the 3 Dynamic Encounters that can reward you with the Freckled Loth-cat Kitten minipet and first in the apparent “storyline”.
To complete Wire You Doing That, you must walk up to several Ice Kittens surrounding the generator. The temporary ability bar will appear, with an ability called Shoo that will do what it says on the tin.
Sometimes, an Upset Momma will show up to defend her precious baby. You’ll have to defeat them, but the cat will run away and lick her wounds instead of dying.
You’ll also need to repair the exposed wires the kittens were chewing on at the generator.
Wire Consequences
Wire Consequences is located at the generator north of Aurek Base in Whiterock Wastes. It is one of the 3 Dynamic Encounters that can reward you with the Freckled Loth-cat Kitten minipet and second in the apparent “storyline”.
To complete Wire Consequences, you’ll need to soothe and crate 5 grumpy and confused Ice Kittens.
The kittens are located around the generator. Walking up to one will cause the temporary ability bar to appear with a Soothe ability. Sometimes, the kitties are too grumpy and confused, and they will nip at you.
Just try again if that ends up happening, but some of them will run away and those don’t count. Once you have successfully Soothed a kitten, right click on it to pick it up and carry it over to a crate marked on your map.
You can only pick up Soothed kittens, so it’s more efficient to soothe and crate them one at a time.
Wire You So Cute
Wire You So Cute is located within Aurek Base and is one of the 3 Dynamic Encounters that can reward you with the Freckled Loth-cat Kitten minipet. There is no need to venture anywhere close to any enemies, so if you can reach the planet, you can complete this Dynamic Encounter.
To complete Wire You So Cute, you must assemble a care package using 3 items found inside Aurek Base, then grab one of the kittens crated during Wire Consequences, and give that crate with the care package to a Weary Patron in the Cantina.
The 3 items for the care package respawn in distinct designated areas within Aurek Base. Head to the locations marked on your map and find a Box of Wires (Cat Toy), Mystery Meat (Cat Food), and Probably Safe Medicine.
The locations below are samples of possible locations. If you don’t see it there, look around the marked region.
Once you’re done, you’ll need to assemble a care package, by clicking on the crate right outside the base next to some Talz and a Comfortable Kitten.
The Weary Patrons are back at the cantina. Just keep offering it to various patrons until one of them accepts.
I recommend mashing your movement speed boost ability while the ability to pick up the crate is casting. It will apply its buff before you get locked out of your abilities. You can also place Phase Walk or Hololocate | Hideout near the cantina as a Sorcerer | Sage or Sniper | Gunslinger, respectively and teleport back while holding the crate.
Since the ability will still be grayed out, I suggest placing it directly on top of this Republic Trooper so that you can target them to see when you’re within 60m.
Rodent Problem
Rodent Problem requires you to control a MSE droid to sneakily steal the data from 5 terminals within the wreckage of a ship guarded by White Maw pirates. You can defeat the pirates and hack the terminals while they respawn, but you are given the tools to complete this encounter without fighting any of them.
To control a MSE droid, head to the escape pod outside. Then, head to each of the 5 terminals marked on your map. On one side of each terminal, there’s a little holo interface you need to get close to. One of your abilities will light up when you’re close enough.
Nearby White Maw pirates will notice while you’re hacking and destroy the droid you’re piloting, but you can buy yourself enough time by activating stealth mode or stunning the nearest one right before you begin hacking. You have to be quick about using those abilities because you have very little time to spare.
Snow Capped Delicacies
Snow Capped Delicacies requires you to pick 10 Snowcap flowers for an adorable little Ortolan located at the western base of the mountain at Highmount Ridge.
The flowers sprout all over the frigid mountain, so you’ll need to do a bit of climbing to reach them. There are grapple points that will allow you to reach the summit more easily, and there’s usually a flower close to each post.
These flowers will help protect you from the blizzard conditions up on the mountain, though the buff provided by picking one doesn’t last forever, so you need to be quick about it.
Once you return the flowers to the Ortolan Wanderer, you’ll receive a Snowcap Reward Pouch, which has a chance to give you Potted Plant: Snowcap Flower deco, though the pouch usually just holds garbage.
I suppose “picking flowers for the little blue elephant” has a nicer ring to it, but I feel like it would make more sense to pick mushrooms since the top part is called a cap. Then you’d have “Snow Caps on the Snowcap”.
Trial by Fire
Trial by Fire is one of the most unique Dynamic Encounters in the game. You must don a special suit near a volcano in the Glacial Fissure and use the suit’s abilities 20 times without dying. You put on the L.A.V.A. Suit and use its abilities via the temporary ability bar.
You can also get an Encrypted Commlink Antenna, which, when used, lets you talk to an Unknown individual who knows about the suit.
At the end of the conversation, you get a buff that lasts for 2 days and doubles the amount of time you can spend testing the suit from 20 actions to 40. This buff is essential for many of the achievements.
We have a separate dedicated guide available, where you will learn everything about the Trial By Fire Dynamic Encounter and everything you’ll need to do to get all rewards and unlock all achievements.
Pirate Problem
This mission is just super long, though progress is shared across all participants (Encounter Shared).
You have to defeat a bunch of White Maw Pirates, then blow up their tanks, and then defeat a couple of Champions. Make sure you have ample time, and unless you’re shooting for the achievement, I recommend skipping this one altogether.
Achievements
Despite existing on planets, Dynamic Encounter achievements are listed under their own category rather than as a new subcategory on each planet in the Location section. On each planet, you get an achievement for doing the following:
- Completing each Dynamic Encounter for the first time
- Completing all Dynamic Encounters in each region
- Completing all Dynamic Encounters across the planet
- Completing 10 â–¶ 25 â–¶ 75 â–¶ 125 Dynamic Encounters on a given planet
Once you get all of these achievements on a given planet, you get the meta-achievement that comes with a Lifter mount that can carry a minipet of your choosing.
Many Dynamic Encounters also have individual achievements associated with them, some of which are hidden. Below, we have tips on how to complete each encounter-specific achievement and reworded their objectives so you know what you have to do.
Clabburn Tundra
Clabburn Tundra has no encounter-specific achievements.
Glacial Fissure
All but one of the encounter-specific achievements in the Glacial Fissure are hidden and associated with the Trial By Fire Dynamic Encounter. The ones in bold give a reward.
Achievement Name | Objective | Associated Dynamic Encounter |
---|---|---|
White Maw Disruptor | Damage 100 White Maw Pirates with the Long-Range Disruptor | Pirated Radio |
Terrible Tremors | Collate 10 Pinpoint Tremor Readings | Trial By Fire |
Off the Charts | Collate 10 Verified Temperature Data | Trial By Fire |
Magma Disturbance | Collate 10 Accurate Flow Data | Trial By Fire |
Volcanic Researcher | Collate All 3 Types of L.A.V.A. Suit Data | Trial By Fire |
Auto-Calibrated! | Auto-Calibrate a L.A.V.A. Suit System | Trial By Fire |
Junk Science | Collect all 21 unique pieces of Inaccurate Data | Trial By Fire |
Maximum Depth | Drilled to the deepest possible point (20) | Trial By Fire |
Hypercharged! | Hypercharge a L.A.V.A. Suit System | Trial By Fire |
Beneath the Surface | Collate All 3 Blue Data Reports into Synthesized L.A.V.A. Report | Trial By Fire |
Truth Seeker | Obtain all 5 blue Reports | Trial By Fire |
White Maw Disruptor (Pirated Radio)
The Long-Range Disruptor used to take out the radio dish at the end of Pirated Radio can also be fired at White Maw pirates. It damages enemies within 5m of the primary target and has a 10s cooldown, but it cannot be fired while in combat.
Just fire the Disruptor at pirates instead of finishing the Dynamic Encounter. Due to its long-ish cooldown, try to hit the centermost enemy and don’t bother with groups of pirates where you can only hit 1.
Junk Science
There are 21 different types of bad data you can get. You’ll likely get this achievement while in pursuit of the others, but you should be able to get it more deliberately by spamming the Sensors at low drill depths.
Hypercharged
As soon as you have all suit functions Charged at the same time, your next Charge will be Hypercharge instead, which permanently Charges the chosen suit function, meaning you get the benefits of Charging on that function for the rest of the trial.
The first time you Hypercharge a suit function, you get the Hypercharged! achievement.
Auto-Calibrated
Once you have all suit functions Calibrated at the same time, your next Calibrate will be Auto-Calibrate instead, which permanently Calibrates the chosen suit function, meaning you get the benefits of Calibration on that function for the rest of the trial.
The first time you Auto-Calibrate a suit function, you get the Auto-Calibrated Achievement.
Maximum Depth
You get the Maximum Depth achievement for reaching a Drill Depth of 20. It is barely possible to do this in a regular 20 actions, but it’s much easier to do with the Encrypted Commlink Antenna in 40.
I highly recommend Hypercharging the Drill if you’re going for this achievement, and prioritize Charging, Calibrating, and Activating the Drill whenever possible.
Remember that the Heat Level DoT increases each time you drill deeper, but you can keep it in check with Heat Shields or a healer buddy.
Volcanic Researcher
Once you collect 10 of a single type of good Data on a single toon (Verified Temperature Data, Pinpoint Tremor Readings, Accurate Flow Data), you can right click on the stack to Collate it and get the associated achievement. Collate all 3 types of good data and get Volcanic Researcher.
Beneath the Surface
Beneath the Surface is the achievement you get for Collating all Data and Reports to get the Synthesized L.A.V.A. Report. This achievement also rewards you with the Fitted L.A.V.A. Suit.
- Gather 10 of each type of good Data on a single toon and Collate it:
- 10x Accurate Flow Data â–¶ Collated Flow Data
- 10x Pinpoint Tremor Readings â–¶ Collated Tremor Data
- 10x Verified Temperature Data â–¶Collated Temperature Data
- Continue doing Trials by Fire. Each type of green Collated Data in your inventory enables you to find its associated blue Report from using Sensors, likely instead of the white Data.
- Collated Flow Data â–¶ Report on Disrupted Magma Flow
- Collated Tremor Data â–¶ Report on Unusual Tremor Patterns
- Collated Temperature Data â–¶ Report on Cyclical Heat Disruption
- Once you have all 3 Reports, right-click on one of them to Collate all 3 into Synthesized L.A.V.A. Report
- Profit
Since all of this Data is Bound (BoP), you have to do it all on one toon. However, it’s still worthwhile to stick as many toons as you can into the volcanoes to improve your odds and give you time to practice.
Truth Seeker
You get Truth Seeker for Sensing all 5 of the blue Reports and get the Character Title: [Name], Truth Seeker.
You will get 3 of the blue reports from doing Beneath the Surface, and these shouldn’t need to be on the same toon for this achievement. The other 2 are Recording of Disturbing Sounds and Drilling System Damage Report, neither of which seems all that rare.
Recording of Disturbing Sounds seems to just have a chance to drop from using Sensors at deep Drill Depths, as in shoot for 20.
Drilling System Damage Report seems to drop when you lean hard into Drilling. It may require you to hit the maximum Drill Depth (20), or possibly involve possibly for Activating a Hypercharged and Regular Charged Drill. You may also need to obtain the regular Charge from Calibrating the Drill twice.
Highmount Ridge
Highmount Ridge features 7 achievements, 2 of which are hidden. The achievements pertain to Fur, Fur Away, Snow Capped Delicacies, Ice Fishing, and Unnecessary Repairs. All of them are doable by both factions.
Achievement Name | Objective | Associated Dynamic Encounter |
---|---|---|
Ice Trampled | Get kicked by all 3 kinds of Icetrompers while collecting their fur. | Fur, Fur Away |
Gentle Hands | Collect all 3 kinds of Icetromper fur without getting kicked | Fur, Fur Away |
Bloom with a View | Don’t let the Snowcap Flower buff fall off while collecting Snowcap Flowers | Snow Capped Delicacies |
Expert Mountaineer | Use the Sturdy Grapple Points on Snowcap Mountain 100 times | Snow Capped Delicacies |
No Need to Vent | Avoid damage from the vents while completing Unnecessary Repairs | Unnecessary Repairs |
Impulsive Eater | Eat a raw Fissure Sleeper Fish and die of food poisoning | Ice Fishing |
Ortolan Gourmand | Eat a perfectly cooked Fissure Sleeper Fish | Ice Fishing â–¶ Snow Capped Delicacies |
Ice Trampled
It might be a fluke, but I think if you run up behind the Icetromper and immediately use the Collect Fur ability, they’re more likely to kick you.
Gentle Hands
It might be a fluke, but I think if you walk up to the Icetromper’s face and wait a couple seconds before collecting the fur, they’re less likely to kick you.
Bloom with a View
Bloom with a View requires that you not lose the Snowcap Pollen protective buff from picking flowers until you’ve picked up all 10. You don’t get the achievement until you give them to the Wandering Ortolan, but it’s okay to let the buff fall off once you’ve gotten 10 flowers.
The path that worked for me involved starting from the Ortolan’s camp, using the grapple points to travel clockwise around the back of the mountain. You run out of grapple points about halfway through, but there are a lot of flowers on the north face of the mountain.
There is always a flower near each grapple point, but there are some that are further away. I wish I could provide more detailed directions, but you don’t have enough time to stop and smell the snowcaps, let alone refer to a map.
Expert Mountaineer
Just keep clicking on grapple points on Snowcap Mountain until you reach 100. You’ll probably get that by the time you earn Bloom with a View. They continue to count even after you’ve finished Snow Capped Delicacies, though it’s more perilous without access to the protective buff.
No Need to Vent
In between every 1-2 repairable vents in the Unnecessary Repairs encounter, there’s a vent that blows hot gas, periodically halting for a brief moment. Just wait until it stops blowing and then cross through immediately.
Impulsive Eater and Ortolan Gourmand
There are 2 hidden achievements associated with the Ice Fishing Dynamic Encounter, Impulsive Eater and Ortolan Gourmand.
While Ice Fishing, after catching a fish, an Elite (gold) Hungry Frost Stalker can ambush you. These enemies have a small chance to drop a Gargantuan Fissure Sleeper.
It may be possible to catch them yourself or loot them from the patrolling Strong (silver) Hunting Frost Stalkers, but the only ones I’ve seen drop come from the gold Hungry Frost Stalker.
You can’t loot anything from Hungry Frost Stalkers spawned by other players, and I haven’t had luck trying to spawn more than one cat per fishing session, even if I leave behind the fish I caught.
So, now that you have the fish in your inventory, you can choose to eat it immediately, which will give you fatal food poisoning and grant the Impulsive Eater achievement.
You’ll need to get another Gargantuan Fissure Sleeper for the second achievement, Ortolan Gourmand. Take the legendary fish to the Ortolan Wanderer at the base of the Snowcap Mountain (also in Highmount Ridge) and he’ll prepare it so you can eat it safely.
The Ortolan Wanderer is only there while the Snow Capped Delicacies encounter is active, and he won’t acknowledge the fish in your inventory until after you’ve completed his encounter.
He’ll offer to cook it, which will allow you to right click on the campfire spit and turn your Gargantuan Fissure Sleeper into Properly Prepared Fissure Sleeper. Eat that and you get the Ortolan Gourmand achievement.
Icefall Plains
Icefall Plains features 2 achievements, both of which pertain to the Snipers! Dynamic Encounter and can only be completed by Imperials.
Achievement Name | Objective | Associated Dynamic Encounter |
---|---|---|
Cool Under Pressure | Use the Instant Shield to avoid taking any damage and recover all Talz Communicators | Snipers! |
Shields Up! | Use the Instant Shield to block 20 Talz Sniper shots | Snipers! |
Cool Under Pressure
During the Snipers! encounter, if you successfully block all shots using the Instant Shield and complete the mission, you’ll get the Cool Under Pressure achievement.
Press the Instant Shield ability as soon as you hear the Snipe squeak or see the crosshair appear on your body. It will last long enough that it can block shots from multiple Talz snipers. You don’t have to worry about blocking damage from that sniper once you’ve popped them out of stealth.
Shields Up!
During the Snipers! encounter, you get the Shields Up! achievement for successfully blocking 20 shots from Talz Snipers using the Instant Shield. This does not have to be done all at once, but you can do it in a single run.
Starship Graveyard
There are 4 achievements in the Starship Graveyard, and you’ll have to spend quite a while here in no Quick Travel land because most of them require multiple runs.
Achievement Name | Objective | Associated Dynamic Encounter |
---|---|---|
Cut the Red Wire | Disarm all 6 Proximity Mines 5 times without taking damage | Mining Accident |
Mined Your Step | Detonate 50 Proximity Mines instead of disarming them | Mining Accident |
Old Droids, New Orders | Activate 25 additional Broken Blade Defense Droids while accompanied by a Broken Blade Defense Droid | Old Droids, New Tricks |
Don’t Get Caught… | Slice all terminals without disconnecting or being detected 5 times | Rodent Problem |
Cut the Red Wire
You have to disarm all 6 Proximity Mines without blowing any up or getting caught by someone else’s explosion to get the Cut the Red Wire achievement. I recommend turning on RP walking (default keybind is NUM /) and treating this like you’re trying to hug a very angry wookiee during life day.
Mined Your Step
Mined Your Step requires you to get rid of 50 Proximity Mines by running into them and blowing them up rather than disarming them. You’ll be dealing with these mines for a while, just like in real life.
Old Droids, New Orders
After you’ve activated a Broken Blade Defense Droid in the Old Droids, New Tricks encounter, you can continue activating more of them. Activating 25 will grant you the Old Droids, New Orders achievement.
It’s easier to do it on a stealth class since you don’t have to worry about accidentally finishing the encounter, but it’s doable in 2 attempts anyway.
Don’t Get Caught…
Don’t Get Caught requires you to complete Rodent Problem 5 times, each time without getting detected or disconnecting. Get as far from the enemies as you can when traveling between terminals and use either Stealth or Zap the nearest enemy right before slicing each one.
Whiterock Wastes
All 3 of the Whiterock Wastes achievements have to do with the Snow Grift Dynamic Encounter, which is only available to Republic players.
Achievement Name | Objective | Associated Dynamic Encounter |
---|---|---|
Quality Products | Purchase and use all 5 types of Treasure Locators | Snow Grift |
One Person’s Trash | Find all 6 pieces of garbage in Suspicious Snow Mounds | Snow Grift |
Limited Edition | Find all 4 “treasures” in Suspicious Snow Mounds | Snow Grift |
Quality Products
The shifty ortolan sells 5 different types of Treasure Locators. Just buy them all and use them all before digging up any treasures.
You can reveal roughly 10 Suspicious Snow Mounds in one go, and they stay revealed even after you find the goodie and complete the encounter.
One Person’s Trash
There are 6 different pieces of garbage loot you can dig up from the Snow Mounts as part of the Snow Grift encounter. You get One Person’s Trash for looting all 6 of them.
Limited Edition
There are 4 more valuable tchotchkes worth a few hundred credits. Finding one of these completes the Snow Grift Encounter. Finding all 4 will get you the Limited Edition achievement. It takes at least 4 runs to get this achievement.
Unique Rewards
There are 6 rewards that you can only get for completing Dynamic Encounters on Hoth.
Frozen Peaks Lifter Mount
The Frozen Peaks Lifter is a variation of the Load Lifter vehicle mounts from the Cartel Market with a blue and white striped paint job and rusty undercarriage. The Lifter can carry a minipet of your choice.
You receive the Frozen Peaks Lifter for completing Encounter Mastery: Hoth, which you receive after completing each unique Dynamic Encounter and 125 total Dynamic Encounters on Hoth.
Everglade Zakkeg Mount
The Everglade Zakkeg is a blue and green reptillian creature mount recolored from the original Zakkeg mount on the Cartel Market. The mount seems to drop from defeating Talz enemies on Hoth, which you can find in abundance at the “Under Fire!”, “Snipers!”, and “Talz Order” in Icefall Plains.
The Talz are Republic-aligned, save for Broonmark, so the Everglade Zakkeg is effectively Imperial-exclusive. However, it is not bound, so you can buy and sell it on the GTN, though it’s pretty easy to get, so your credits are probably spent some other way.
You can get a matching Swamp Zakkeglet Minipet from the Dantooine Spring Abundance Festival.
Freckled Loth-cat Kitten Minipet
You have a chance to receive the Freckled Loth-cat for completing Wire Consequences, Wire You So Cute, or Wire You Doing That. All of these cat-themed Dynamic Encounters are Republic exclusive near Aurek Base in Whiterock Wastes.
This pet is not bound, so you can buy and sell it on the GTN, and you’re probably gonna have to do that because the drop chance is insanely low.
Potted Plant: Hoth Snowcap Deco
The Potted Plant: Hoth Snowcap is an Environmental – Plants decoration that fits on Small, Narrow, and Medium Hooks. You have a chance to get a single copy after completing Snow Capped Delicacies at the northern edge of Highmount Ridge.
The Potted Plant: Hoth Snowcap is not bound, so you can buy and sell it on the GTN.
L.A.V.A. Suit Fitted Armor Set
You receive the L.A.V.A. Suit for completing the Beneath the Surface achievement, requiring you to create a Synthesized L.A.V.A. Report by Collating all types of good Data on a single toon during Trial By Fire.
Below, you can see how it dyes using the high-contrast Light Blue and Deep Green Dye Module.
The blurry, undyeable black bits on the pants are the result of them hastily removing the kneepads from the Cybernetic Pauldron Pants but not the baked-in shadow beneath.
While it looks like what I imagine a volcano diving suit would be, sadly, all of the pieces are cobbled together from hastily edited existing assets including:
- Rakata Trooper Headgear (variant)
- BK-0 Combustion Chestplate
- Lab Technician’s Bracers
- Lab Technician’s Gauntlets
- Woad’s Instinct Belt
- Cybernetic Pauldron’s Greaves (kneepads removed)
- Lab Technician’s Boots
- Ceremonial Yellow Dye (inverted)
The inverted Ceremonial Yellow Dye and maybe the specific helmet version are the only “special” things about this set, and it’s distractingly old next to other Dynamic Encounter sets like Electric Gaze and Hidden Chain.
I get that they can’t spend a whole lot of effort on something so difficult to obtain, but is it too much to ask for something like Dxun armor shields? (We don’t have pink ones.)
Character Title: [Name], Truth Seeker
You receive the Character Title: [Name], Truth Seeker for completing the Truth Seeker achievement, which requires that you find all 5 blue Reports from the Trial By Fire encounter.
