Ahsoka releasing in 2027, Fate of the Old Republic will not be 200 hours long | Star Wars Weekly News

New Shadow of Maul comic issue, Ahsoka is now releasing in 2027, new info about Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, and everything that happened in the week of May 9 – May 15, 2026.

Ahsoka Season 2 delayed until 2027

Initially, Season 2 of Ahsoka was supposed to release during the second half of 2026. With this, the three bigger Star Wars projects of the year would be evenly split. Maul – Shadow Lord, The Mandalorian, and Grogu in the first half of the year, and Ahsoka during the second half of 2026.

During the Disney Upfront event, Rosario Dawson herself announced that Season 2 will premiere early 2027. This came as a surprise because there isn’t any major project coming up after The Mandalorian and Grogu.

While I’m very excited about Galactic Racer and Zero Company, I wouldn’t consider them to be that important for the bigger audience.

There could be many reasons: having to re-shoot multiple scenes, post-production problems, overlapping with something that is yet to be revealed, or saving it for the year that marks the 50th anniversary of the franchise. I really don’t mind the delay, as long as it’s better than the first season.

So far, we have only been told that the scale of the battles is bigger and the stakes are higher, but hopefully, we will get at least a teaser trailer before the end of the year.

Here’s the list of returning actors/characters:

  • Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano
  • Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren
  • Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn
  • Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger
  • Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla
  • Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker
  • Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati
  • Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll.

One week before The Mandalorian and Grogu movie is out

We’re just a few days away from everyone being able to see Din Djarin and Grogu on the big screen. The premiere just took place in Los Angeles, where influencers, cast members, executives, producers, and other members of the Star Wars family attended.

There are already some comments about the movie on social media. I won’t spoil anything here, but if you look for said comments, you can get a general idea about the plot and its impact on the current storyline. Our spoiler-free review will be available early in the morning on May 22.

Fate of the Old Republic won’t be 200 hours long

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Simon Zhu, head of the investment group GTG, and game director Casey Hudson revealed their philosophy behind their upcoming Star Wars title.

These two guys are the founding pillars of Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic and key to the game’s development. To save you some time, I summarized the key points in brief sentences:

  • Commercial success is possible without sacrificing player satisfaction
  • The industry’s mistreatment of developers
  • Mass Effect, KOTOR, Runescape and Dragon Age: Inquisition veterans are working on SWFOTOR
  • Hudson finds AI creatively soulless
  • The game won’t be 200 hrs long, some of its value will be in replayability
  • They don’t want to develop the game in 5-7 years. Ideally, it will be out before 2030
  • “Money doesn’t make it good. People make it good.”
