Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.5 added a new quest that is directly related to King and his crew from Edgerunners 2. This guide will tell you how to unlock this quest, all the outcomes and rewards.
How to unlock “Clampdown”
V’s story takes place before the events of Edgerunners 2, that’s why King sounds so motivated and eager to complete not only this mission, but future ones.
To unlock the Clampdown , all you have to do is complete The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, it doesn’t matter which ones. Once you complete these quests, wait for a message from her.

Quest walkthrough
If you agree to talk with King, Wakako sends you to the terrace of BuryGer, a diner that is right outside Night City Prison. The MLK & Brandond Travel Point in Arroyo, Santo Domingo will put you right in front of it.

This mission requires you to infiltrate the prison and help King snatch Miguel, a member of his crew, from the NCPD’s hands. Once you agree to do it, you’ll head into the visitor’s entrance and walk through a few filters before triggering an alarm. As a result, you’ll end up in a cell where you meet a woman named Wex.

Shortly after, she is taken into the “BD therapy area”. One of the guards tells you that King‘s gift is on the bathroom. With the help of Meshuga, you can break out of your cell and recover one of your weapons and cyberware capabilities. On the bathroom, you find a bag with a full King-themed gear set. It includes King’s clothes and his weapon, the “Coronation”.

The next step is to find the right server in the Security Cortex and deactivate the Reaper chips that can fry your brain and Miguel’s within seconds if activated. Accessing the Reaper chip server triggers a failsafe that will activate your Reaper if you don’t hurry up.
You can deactivate the Reaper chips of three people: yourself, Miguel and Wex. Deactivating your own chip first is the best choice because it removes the time limit. Then, Miguel and then Wex, though this last one is optional.

Now it is time to head to the armory to recover your gear. There will be a few guards on your path that must be taken out first. With all your gear recovered, you must locate the Crisis Control Room but first, you need to find a way out of the armory. There are three ways to get outside the armory:
- Hack the panel
- Fry the panel circuits (Technical Ability)
- Force the door open (Body/Strength)

The elevator leaves you in the Crisis Control Room. This is where things start to get chaotic and you are forced to take a decision: activate the Reaper chips to help King’s crew, deactivate the Reaper chips as King ordered, or do nothing.

With that business done, all that remains is locating the morgue, planting an explosive and get the hell out of the prison. But before doing so, you must defeat Darius Bale.

This boss fight is very easy compared to other bosses in terms of mechanics, but you might struggle a bit if you haven’t acquired powerful weapons and/or good cyberware. If you are struggling against him, make sure to shoot the fuel pack on his back and/or use electrical weapons/Short Circuit quickhack. Don’t forget to loot Darius to get his Access Badge to leave the prison.

For the final step, all you have to do is plant the mine on the wall of the morgue, get out, and lose the NCPD. King will call you after escaping the NCPD to communicate that everyone made it out and already excited to plan his next big hit.
After a couple days, Miguel will text you and mention a gift waiting for you at your Watson apartment (Megabuilding H10: Atrium). This package contains an Iconic Tech Weapon Mod.

All Outcomes
If you deactivate Wex’s Reaper chip as well, she is nowhere to be found, which initially made me believe that she escaped. However, a message sent to you by Wakako a few days after completing the mission says that she went crazy and killed many people inside the prison.

If you don’t deactivate her Reaper chip it from the beginning, she will die if you decide to activate the Reaper chips. Speaking of which, here’s what happens depending on what you decide to do:
- Activating the Reaper chips kills all the inmates, making it easier for you to escape.
- Deactivating the Reaper chips ends up with prisoners rioting, which helps you escape the prison.
- Doing nothing leaves Miguel badly hurt, and King is a bit pissed but he is still grateful. However, he wants you to pay for Miguel’s treatment.
For better or worse, there is no real way to fail this mission once you are inside the prison.
Rewards
Unlike other jobs, you don’t receive eddies. All you get are King’s items and Miguel’s gift.

|---|---|
| King’s Glasses | Head |
| King’s Bulletproof Vest | Inner Torso |
| King’s Coat | Outer Torso |
