BioWare brings back the Summer casino event called Nar Shaddaa Nightlife to SWTOR every year. The 2025 event runs from July 8th to August 19th. This guide will show you how to participate and what you can earn from the event!
Table of contents
What is SWTOR Nightlife
Nightlife is the limited-time seasonal event that takes place during the summer in Star Wars: The Old Republic. This year, it will run for 6 weeks from July 8th to August 19th, 2025.
The main areas for the event are the Star Cluster and Club Vertica Casinos on Nar Shaddaa, but you can also find slot machines near Slugfall Harbor and Three Points on Mek-Sha and in the VIP areas of the Fleet.
The main activity is gambling with virtual slot machines to win prizes. There is no real money or Cartel Coin integration with this or any other event. You’re also able to do a few casino-related missions in exchange for chips and credits.
2025 Changes
In 2025, Nightlife has received a host of quality-of-life (QoL) changes and a bunch of new rewards and achievements.
- All Chips are now Legacy Currency and the currency cap has been increased
- Currency is converted to legacy upon toon login. You won’t lose any chips if you go over the limit, but you will need to use those chips before you can get more.
- Feeling Lucky and Good Karma buffs now both last 10 minutes and are only consumed by a Jackpot on a non Smuggler’s Luck machine, though you can’t refresh their durations.
- Getting your chip back no longer counts or displays as a win, does not grant achievement progress, and all machines have a chance to give your chip back
- It is possible to get chips for the next tier machine or Max Bet chips for the current tier machine.
- You cannot lose on Emperor’s Grace machines, Max Bet or otherwise, though getting Certificates is still pretty much a loss
- Drop rates for Emperor’s Casino Chips have been increased in MM Flashpoints as well as VM and MM Operations.
- New rewards are available from the regular Emperor’s Grace machine, all Max Bet machines, and the Golden Certificate vendor.
- All Golden Certificate costs have been increased by ~40%
2025 New Rewards
Below, you’ll see all 9 of the Nightlife Rewards that are new in 2025. There are 4 mounts, 4 pets, and a trippy helmet.

Most of these rewards are only available on the Max Bet machines, so you’ll need to fork over a million credits for a VIP Wristband from the Fleet Cantina vendors or buy the Collector’s Edition Vendor Access on the Cartel Market.
How to get started with Nightlife
There is little advertisement on both the Imperial and Republic Fleets, but you don’t need to watch the intro cutscenes and can simply travel to Nar Shaddaa’s casinos.
The intro mission for both factions is called “Nar Shaddaa Nightlife” and it gives you a small head-start by providing you with 5 Smuggler’s Casino Chips (read below what these are).
To complete this mission you have to go to the Event Vendors, who are located at the far end of the casino on Nar Shaddaa. As soon as you approach them, the mission will auto-complete.

Where to find the Nightlife Casinos
The Nightlife event was originally hosted only on Nar Shaddaa, which is why it’s called Nar Shaddaa Nightlife in the achievements, but you can now also find slot machines in the VIP area of the Fleet and at Three Points on Mek-Sha.
Nar Shaddaa Location
The Republic and Empire have separate locations on Nar Shaddaa. Republic players can crank the slots at the Club Vertica Casino, while Imperial players can try their luck at the Star Cluster Casino.
I recommend traveling to your Nar Shaddaa Stronghold and exiting to the planet from there, which puts you on The Promenade, or grabbing the [Weekly] Heroic Missions: Nar Shaddaa mission from the Activities window so you can skip the long stroll through Mezenti Spaceport.
Mek-Sha Location
The Mek-Sha location, added in 2020, is in The Bazaar, in the Three Points zone across the bridge from Slugfall Harbor. Below is a map of the zone and the exact location of The Bazaar and the Slot Machines.
Note: There are no Emperor’s Grace machines on Mek-Sha, probably on account of the bloody rebellion.
VIP Section on the Fleet
As of 2022, you can access special higher tier (and more expensive) slot machines on the Fleets. Travel to the VIP floor to see them. I have a dedicated section below in this guide detailing these new machines and what you can earn from them.
How to participate in the Nightlife Event
During the SWTOR Nightlife event you can play on three different types of slot machines spread all around in the casinos in clusters, based on their type and chips required to play.
Icon | Chip Type | Slot Machine | Cost (Max Bet) |
---|---|---|---|
Smuggler’s Casino Chip | Smuggler’s Luck | 5,000 (100,000) | |
Kingpin’s Casino Chip | Kingpin’s Bounty | 100,000 (2,000,000) | |
Emperor’s Casino Chip | Emperor’s Grace | 7,500,000 (150,000,000) |
To play on the slots you will need chips, just like in a real-life casino. You can purchase them from the Casino Cashier droids, available on the casino floor. You also get them as loot while you play the game.
The slot takes 5 seconds to spin and using the slot is on the GCD, so you can play 3 machines at once, though it’s smoother to cycle through 4 machines if possible.
Stand between the machines, this way you will be able to click quickly and get more results for your time spent in the casino.
What are Smuggler’s Luck Slots
Smuggler’s Luck is the name of the slot machines decorated in green colors. You can only get basic rewards at these machines, but you can get the Feeling Lucky buff, which improves your odds of winning a prize on one of the better machines.
What are Kingpin’s Bounty Slots
The purple slots are called “Kingpin’s Bounty”. You can get mid-tier rewards from these machines and have a chance to get the Good Karma buff, which further improves your odds of winning a prize on Kingpin’s Bounty and Emperor’s Grace machines.
If you’re just starting out, I only recommend using these machines while you have the Feeling Lucky buff. If you have Emperor’s Grace chips, I don’t recommend giving up your Good Karma buff on one of these machines either, unless you’re after a specific reward.
What are Emperor’s Grace Slots
The Emperor’s Grace Slots are the machine with a giant statue of a Hutt next to it. These are the top-tier slot machines. You can’t lose, but you can still get stuff from the lower tier slots, which is basically a loss since they chips are so much more expensive.
Do not use these machines unless you have both the Good Karma and Feeling Lucky buffs unless you can already afford to fill all of your swimming pools with bottled water at each of your vacation homes.
What are Max Bet Slot Machines
You can find Max Bet versions of the 3 types of machines in the VIP areas on the Fleet. The machines look identical, but the chips are far more expensive.
There are a couple of exclusive rewards on the Smuggler’s Luck and Kingpin’s Bounty Max Bet machines, but for the most part, these machines are just more efficient.
You can get these new chips either with credits (lots and lots of credits) or exchange 20 of the equivalent regulat chip for 1 Max Bet chip. Unless you’re after one of those exclusive rewards or have more money (or chips) than you know what to do with, I recommend sticking with the regular machines.
To gain access to the VIP section on the Fleet, you must either buy VIP Wristband from the Bartender Cantina Vendors on the Fleet or buy the Collector’s Edition Vendor Access on the Cartel Market.
If you bought the Digital Deluxe Edition back when it was available, you’ll also have a VIP Wristband on each of your toons.
2025 Mission Walkthroughs
There are a few missions you can pick up and complete as part of the SWTOR Nightlife event in 2025. The most interesting one is called “Counterfeit Tokens: Mek-Sha”. It will introduce you to the Nightlife on Mek-Sha.
After you arrive to the Nar Shaddaa casino, you should open your map and take a brief look around. Find the orange triangle markers that point out to the available missions around and pick them all up.
The place to start is the “Advertisement Terminal“. There are a few available around, all offering the same missions.
Missions available at the Entertainment Terminal (shown on the image below):
- Buy In, Cell Out
- Dubious Odds
- House Money
Completing these missions will reward you with chips that you can use on the Slots and some additional credits.
“Dubious Odds” is a short chain of mini-missions. Talk to the Pit Boss (has a quest marker above its head). He will grant these missions to you one after another. Completing “Dubious Odds” will grant you one Emperor’s Grace chip.
Be sure to pick up Dubious Odds before talking to the Pit Boss.
The final two missions are the “Counterfeit Tokens” missions – one for Nar Shaddaa and one for Mek-Sha. The whole pack of missions can be done in a few minutes, provided all of the informants show up.
Dubious Odds
Dubious Odds is a non-repeatable wrapper mission that gives you an Emperor’s Grace token. You will need to complete a small chain of quick and easy to do small missions. Here’s the list:
- Complete “Boss Said Known You Out”
- Complete “Data Driven Services”
- Complete “Fair Play Enforcer”
- Complete “Counterfeit Tokens: Mek-Sha”
- Complete “Counterfeit Tokens: Nar Shaddaa”
To start, speak to the Pit Boss NPC, who is located right next to the Advertisement Terminal, from which you picked up this mission.
Fair Play Enforcer
Now you should have the “Fair Play Enforcer” mission. To complete it, use the special ability next to your mission in the tracker to scan and mark the required targets.
The Sabacc tables are near the entrance of the casino. Scan each green ring until you find the NPC that is designated to be the cheater.
Return to the Pit Boss NPC to complete the mission. Speak to it again to get the next one, “Boss Said Knock You Out”.
Boss Said Knock You Out
For this one you have to find and remove five problematic customers. You get a new ability for this that pops up in your temporary ability bar and will become active when you approach any of the following NPCs:
- Gullible Patron
- Tough Customer
- Affable Clientele
Some of them will run away when you target them and click on the special ability, others will aggro on you.
When done, go back to the Pit Boss NPC. Complete the mission and speak to the NPC to pick up the next one, Data-Driven Services.
Data-Driven Services
To complete this one you will have to approach a number of Gullible Patrons, Affable Clientele and Tough Customers NPCs. You need to use three times each of the newly added special abilities on these NPCs to “convince” them. The special abilities you have are:
Icon | Ability Name | How to use it |
---|---|---|
Aggressive Marketing | use on Affable Clientele | |
Manipulative Argument | use on Tough Customers | |
Sunk Cost Fallacy | use on Gulilble Patrons |
Each of these three abilities works only on one type of NPC and I have listed them above to hopefully help you save yourself some time.
Once you are done, return to the Pit Boss to finish the mission and get the next in line. The conversation you will have with the NPC gives you a choice – help on Nar Shaddaa or help on Mek-Sha.
Your decision will determine which of the Counterfeit Tokens daily missions you get next. Don’t worry, you can speak with the NPC right away again and pick up the other one.
Counterfeit Tokens: Nar Shaddaa
For “Counterfeit Tokens: Nar Shaddaa” go to the Lower Promenade. There you will find an NPC called Sly Informant. Approach and talk to him.
Now go to the Upper Promenade and take the taxi to the Corellian Sector (or teleport directly there). Get to this spot on the map:
Speak to the Dire Skull Circuit Leader . You have a reply choice to make in the conversation with this NPC.
Depending on whether you choose to help the Dire Skulls or turn them into the authorities, you’ll get the following additional reward:
- Good Karma buff, which increases your odds of getting a prize at Kingpin’s Bounty and Emperor’s Grace machines
- 15 additional Smuggler’s Luck chips
You get the Good Karma buff for siding with the casino authorities (along with 15 Smuggler’s Luck chips) and 30 Smuggler’s Luck chips for siding with the Dire Skulls. Clicking on the boxes counts as siding with casino authorities.
Since it’s pretty easy to get the Good Karma buff as part of the normal process of doing slots, I recommend helping the Dire Skulls continue their counterfeiting operation.
Counterfeit Tokens: Mek-Sha
For “Counterfeit Tokens: Mek-Sha” you need to travel to the western end of The Red Zone area on Mek-Sha. Similarly to the Nar Shaddaa mission, you will find a Sly Informant NPC there, Talk to him.
He will send you to the next location you need to check. Go to the Scrap Pit, which is to the south from your current location, still in The Red Zone area.
Down in the pit you will find the Dire Skull Circuit Leader standing next to a pile crates labeled “Suspicious Stash”.
It’s more worthwhile to get the extra chips on Mek-Sha because there are no Emperor’s Grace or Max Bet machines on the planet and the debuff gets removed when you enter a loading screen.
Buy In, Sell Out
To complete this mission, approach a Gullible Patron NPC and click on the special ability next to the mission in your Tracker.
Next stand on the Dance Floor and click on it.
Finally, approach a Mic Stand and click on it.
House Money
This one is pretty straight-forward. Approach any of the slot machines and play them. You need to play ten times on any machine to complete this mission.
Golden Certificate Vendor Rewards
There are three Golden Certificate vendors available both on Nar Shaddaa and Mek-Sha.
All of them are willing to trade old and some new rewards for your Golden Certificates (earned from playing the Slots). Below is a full list of each vendor’s offerings and a few images highlighting some of the items.
The vendors have different names for Republic and Empire sides, but the items are identical, and prices too.

* Night Owl is repeated because there are two different achievements under the same name.
The new secret slot machine explosion achievements are rightly absurd and have caused a lot of community outrage. Broadsword has clarified that these achievements are working as intended.
Hi everyone,Â
Wanted to chime in here and clear up some perception and answer a question in the thread. The 10 Explosion Max Bet Achievement is meant to be obtained over time and not within one event cycle. At this time, we will not be making updates to the Achievement whether that be adjusting the percentages or adding more explosions to get the Achievement (as someone alluded to earlier in the thread).
In regards to if specific machines are required to get this Achievement, it is any machine. So Smuggler’s Luck Max Bet and Kingpin’s Bounty Max Bet machines will suffice.
