SWTOR is once again participating in EA’s Play 2 Give campaign. This year you can earn a new mini-pet droid if you participate in Group Activities in the beginning of June!
Participating in any group activities via the Activities Window in Star Wars: The Old Republic from 1st of June (starting to count from 19:00 GMT) until 3rd of June, you will unlock a new Achievement – “Play 2 Give: 2018”. Once you earn that you will be rewarded with a new mini-pet droid – the MB-6 Micro Defender.
This little guy looks like the droid you can earn by participating in the Gree event on Ilum (L1-L Scout and the much more difficult one to get – the L1-L Defender), but has a slightly different skin – blue. The mini-pet is also a Legacy Bound reward, meaning it will be available to all your current existing characters within your legacy and all your future new ones as well.
Just in case you are wondering, the armor in the featured image is the newly released this week for single purchase Charismatic Mandalorian’s Armor Set.
To open the Activities Window, you can press CTRL+G or find its designated button next to the minimap on your UI. If you have never participated in group activities in SWTOR, don’t worry, the Story Mode content is easy. In Story Mode Flashpoints and Operations you will also get bolstered if your gear is of a lower tier.
The annual Play 2 Give event is organized by EA. Its goal is to connect gamers and include them in a charity campaign. EA is partnering with three big charitable organizations: the United Nation’s HeForShe, PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, and Ditch the Label. These nonprofits strive to create a world where everyone can play and feel welcomed.
We believe that games are for everyone and aim to create amazing experiences for our hundreds of millions of players globally that are a true reflection of our diverse world. This illustrates the power of play in uniting an inclusive global player community, building meaningful connections, and transcending boundaries.
This celebration of play and inclusion culminates each year with our annual festival for our players, EA PLAY. To showcase the power of our player community and the ability to collectively bring positive social impact through our shared passion for games, we’ll be kicking off the festivities of EA PLAY with the 3rd annual Play to Give 2018 from June 1 – 3!
As in years past, we’re inviting players to celebrate play and inclusion within our game communities by completing Play to Give in-game challenges that yield special rewards.* The campaign will contribute $1 million to three outstanding charitable organizations that share our commitment to building a more inclusive world:
- United Nations HeForShe – HeForShe invites people around the world to stand together to create a bold, visible force for gender equality. And it starts by taking action right now to create a gender equal world.
- PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center – PACER works to create a world without bullying by uniting for kind, inclusive, and accepting communities and online environments.
- Ditch the Label – Whether you’re being bullied or know somebody that is, Ditch the Label have you covered. They are one of the largest anti-bullying organizations in the world; standing united for a world that is fair, equal, and free from all types of bullying.
The Play to Give campaign challenges will run from 8AM PT Friday, June 1 through 11:59PM PT Sunday, June 3. Full challenge details can be found on the Play to Give website or in-game.
