BioWare is looking to hire a qualified specialist for the position of a Community Coordinator to work with Eric Musco on Star Wars: The Old Republic

Bioware Austin has an opening for a Community Coordinator to support Star Wars: The Old Republic in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate  will assist the day-to-day content creation, social media management and internal reporting for SWTOR.

While working in a cross functional team the Temporary Community Coordinator will also assist in managing external influencers including Guilds, Fan Sites (that’s my category :P), and live streamers. This role will also directly support the Community Manager Eric Musco in all community related tasks. In-depth knowledge of the massively multiplayer online gaming community, and SWTOR of course, are key success factors for this position.

The responsibilities of the Community Coordinator include working on marketing and development to coordinate web and social media content around upcoming game updates, creation of visual assets for web and social content, oversight of all social media channels including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, generate feedback reports based on dev team requests and more.

To do this job, the studio requires that the candidates have at least one year of experience working as a member of a community team, three or more years of experience participating in online games and online communities, be familiar with Twitch.TV (because that’s where BioWare Austin does its live stream promotions and new content previews) and more. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and video editing are a plus for those, who apply for the job. Passion for gaming is mentioned there as well. Because without passion, there would be no community to build upon!

Except for a regular job and salary, the community coordinator will get to “work and learn from a world-class games studio making world-class games”, says the job announcement.

If you are living in Austin or are willing to move there and you can answer the demands and requirements for this job, you can apply to work for Eric Musco, as he himself announced on his personal Twitter account/

There is an upcoming developer live strem scheduled for October 11th. It will be a replacement for the previously canceled New York Cantina event. During this stream BioWare developers will introduce and preview the upcoming new content with Game Update 5.10 Jedi Under Siege. This patch will be the last one for the game in 2018 and it opens up a brand new narrative that will once again focus the players’ attention on to the eternal conflict between the Republic and Empire.

So far not much is known, but in 2019 we expect this conflict to scale up to a real war leading up to a new expansion.
