These are the appearance and return to four more original class companions with the release of SWTOR 5.10 Jedi Under Siege – Khem Val, Jaesa, Nadia and Doc!
The “Jedi Under Siege” update gave us a new beginning. The Eternal Throne drama is now behind us all. A war is looming on the horizon! The two factions are once again at each other’s throats. The new story is just a beginning. It takes us to Ossus and allows us to also meet up with a ton of returning and new characters. Some of them well written, some of them a bit of a missed opportunity.
This article focuses on the returning original class companions and we’ve got four of them coming back! Both versions of the Sith Warrios’s Jaesa (Light and Dark) is about to meet her old Sith Master, the Knight’s Doc has teamed up with Consular’s Nadia and are ready to meet you in the Republic storyline. Khem Val is aiwaiting for the Inquisitor to find him on Ossus.
Table of contents
I have a few clips for you. There are a lot of different choices. Although the cinematics are (once again) short, there are interesting options for you to take!
COMPANIONS FEATURED IN THE 5.10 STORY
Some of the returning companions are featured in the main storyline of Jedi Under Siege. Each one of them appears at some point to meet, welcome and (not always) cheer their old master or boss.
DOC AND NADIA
Doc and Nadia appear in the Republic story – as soon as you land on Ossus. Their dialogue options are different if you are playing a Jedi Knight or Jedi Consular – they will recognize you, be happy to see you and introduce you to the other one.
If you are a Jedi Knight, Doc takes the lead and introduces you to Nadia as the Battlemaster of the Jedi Order and the Republic. He also boasts about how he has helped you save the Galaxy “once or twice”.
If you are a Jedi Consular, Nadia takes the stage first and introduces you to Doc with a giant grin on her face. She’s definitely happy to see you after six years have passed and still recognizes you as the Barsen’thor of the Jedi Order.
Doc and Nadia are working together. The reason you were not able to reunite with them until now is because for the last five or six years they have both been on Ossus, establishing the Colony.
With communications turned off, to protect the colonists, it was impossible for them to find you or you them. That is also why they are not aware of your deeds as the Alliance Commander – surviving in the first place, forming the Alliance, defeating the Emperor, taking the Eternal Throne.
KHEM VAL
If your Inquisitor sided with Khem in the original class story, the dashade will appear for you on Ossus – in the farms. He will recognize you and ask to reconnect with you after the story.
Khem joins you in the personal instance on the Farmstead to help you and meanwhile shares a few bits and pieces on what he’s been doing and how Zash’s torment over him has been a nightmare.
JAESA WILSAAM
The Dark Side Jaesa is not part of the Jed Under Siege main story at all. She gets a separate Alliance Mission that tells you of her capture after she attempted to attack the Alliance forces on Iokath… alone.
The light side version of Jaesa is also part of this update, though I have not yet done the version in which she appears. A video of that will be available as soon as I am finished :)
In the section below that is specifically for her, I will show you the outcome I have chosen for my Dark Side Sith Warrior (and more in the future).
DOCTOR ARCHIBAN KIMBLE (DOC) ALLIANCE ALERT
Doc is my favorite companion, but not for any romantic reasons. He’s the one that saved Vulkk from so many “walks of shame” in the earlier days of the game, when each companion has a strict role. Doc was always THE DOC. I was most happy to welcome him back into my ranks in 5.10.
Doc returns to the Jedi Knight with “Jedi Under Siege”. He’s teamed up with Nadia (Consular’s original companion) and they are both appearing for a brief moment during the Republic storyline in Jedi Under Siege.
For the Jedi Knight companion Doc has an additional short cinematic that allows the two old friends to talk about the last 5-6 years since they were separated. The Alliance Alert is called “Mending Ties” and is given to you by Lana Beniko. It’s only available if you are a Jedi Knight
NADIA GRELL ALLIANCE ALERT
Because she is a force-user, Nadia was mentioned by Master Ranos (another companion, introduced by BioWare in KOTET) briefly, but was missing until 5.10. During the Republic version of the Jedi Under Siege storyline, Nadia appears with Doc in a scene.
The Consular players have an additional Alliance Alert available to them after the story on Ossus is over. It’s a short cinematic, allowing you to catch up with Nadia and realize how much she has grown in your absence. She’s now a full fleshed out Jedi Knight on her own. The Alliance Alert is called “The Padawan and Her Master” and is given to you by Lana Beniko. It’s only available if you are a Jedi Consular.
KHEM VAL ALLIANCE ALERT
Remember that moment when you were doing the Reclaimed Treasure Alliance Mission and at the end you discovered a non-Khem dashade creature? Disappointing, eh? No worries, the wait was worth it!
If your Sith Inquisitor has sided with Khem Val all the way back in the origin class storyline, you have not met Khem on Nathema. Instead you will get an opportunity to meet him now in Jedi Under Siege for a brief moment on Ossus. Later, after the story is finished, a new Alliance Alert will become available.
Khem is only available if you sided with him. What’s great is that a romantic option is now possible between the “lovely” giant and your Inquisitor. His Alliance Alert is called “A Long Lost Hunger” and is given to you by Lana Beniko.
JAESA WILSAAM ALLIANCE ALERT
Did you miss your favorite troubled Jedi/Sith companion Jaesa? I always find it fascinating how the same character can be so hated and at the same time beloved by many.
Whatever your feelings towards her are, Jaesa is finally making her way back to your heart (or sword?) in Jedi Under Siege.
Both versions of Jaesa are returning with this update. Dark Side Jaesa is angry with you at first and feels abandoned. If you have romanced her in the past, your choices will be quite unique.
The Alliance Missoin for the Dark Jaesa is called “Feel the Wrath” and is given to you by Bay’wan Aygo after the main storyline on Ossus is over. It’s only available if you are a Sith Warrior Dark Side.
Light Side Jaesa has a different Alliance Alert, called “Back in the Fold“. You will only see one of the two Alerts, depending on what choice you made regarding Jaesa during the origin story on Hutta.
